On some of your other characters, eg: PHX Flynn, the chest/torso/arm & leg veins are also baked into the main color texture maps, and these are more difficult to reduce/eliminate.
That is very true. I was only responding to @Tarantanamir 's concerns about "popping" veins.
I think I broke my ankle just looking at them. =P
I have a theory, though, that this trend of platform heels is being backed by horror movie serial killers because they're tired of having to chase after their prey.
Taking a moment to chime in with a thank-you for the teeth bleached option you put in your characters. I've used it on one of my mains, who was driving me nuts with perpetually grey teeth, and it fixed the issue entirely.
(I also love your characters just as characters. They look like people I might know.)

Are you sure they're not replacing anything? It seems to me that we're seeing very few new DAZ Originals these days that aren't either directly dedicated to release as part of the bimonthly new Core figure bundles, as PC+ items, or the uber-cut rate morph characters. It wouldn't bother me as much if the figures were better designed, but the similarity of so many of the individual characters to each other (4 dwarves in less than a month?), coupled with the excessive reuse of the same old base skins over and over and over, make them feel like they've got a junior staffer somewhere dialing these things withouth doing any real sculpting work.
Skins aren't the issue. Load time is. The G9 figure load time is terrible when you have a lot of morphs. I use older Gen (3 usually) for middle distance characters. And I use LowPi figures for far distance characters. The older Gen characters have fewer polygons without needing to remember to change SubD. And many of them are even cheaper than than the MM G9s that were like 2.99 or more (I don't recall). During the winter sale, I got a bunch of G3 figures for under a dollar. And they load in 10-15 seconds instead of 2-3 minutes each.
^^^ This. Development time is finite, ergo, when it's being spent on one thing, it's not being spent on another. Diversity is best, so everyone has at least a chance at something they might like... but lately anyone who isn't into (IMHO poorly executed) G9 morphs is outta luck. And I'm definitely with you that if the figures were better, I might mind less.
As it is, I'm lumping them in with the endless sci-fi hallways, poorly lit rooms, and hot tubs.
I like two of the new items available today.
The first is Solene. An interesting look and face shape, but not for me. I honestly have more characters than time to use, so she'll have to be a pass.
The second is XI Forest Village. That is an incredible set. The background hills are crying out for some UltraScatter vegetation (it obviously only relies on texture to simulate vegetation), but otherwise it's incredible. I don't know how it could be used though. Would need mud streaks up to knee high for people to be walking down the track and use a lot of imagination for additional props, but the modelling is remarkable.

I tried aging Solene up and failed miserably. But that may be my lack of practice. All my attempts looked really weird. She does age down to a nice baby though. So I loaded into my scene another female character, chosen at random, HID Laura, and then selected Lyra Solenne's full mat and applied it to her. That worked okay, all appropriate nips and gens were there. But you don't get that pouty, GenZ look if you wanted that.

Indeed! Another dress I wish was G8 out of the box. Sigh. I have an assortment of Tentman items and like them a lot.

Yeah, the name Forest VIllage is completely inaccurate given that there's nothing close to a forest to speak of, but I expect that at this poinit with Xivon, which I believe is a collective rather than a single human being. As for location, it's mostly typical of Southern Mexico, and South and Central America but, again, Xivon tends to add random inconsistant details so often that it could be the Phillipines or even Malaysia.

tha forest village can be wherever you want, the beauty of 3D and being creative. I like juxtiposition... so the villagers all wearing business suits on their way to work.
Looks like a jungle village in Brazil from what I can find in googe images. The wood telephone poles are probably out of place though, from what I see they would probably use concrete poles as wood rots too quickly in that environment, plus the wood needed to make those kinds of poles is not local. Concrete is what they would use.
yeah i hoped for SEA too - not that it really matters, i'm not illustrating a thesis, and i want it to be SEA it can be.. but i didn't want to be totally wrong. at least it seems to give a SEA flair since several people feel it so. thx! :)
My first guess was Central/South America, but given I've never been anywhere more tropical than Florida, my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt the size of a palm tree.
