...indeed, the promos are not that good as they all look like a bloom or atmospheric filter was used so details are not that distinct.  I had the same issue with KAs 'Neo Tokyo as the promos looked a bit but of focus which kept me from purchasing it. .

I have it. Not sure why I bought it - potentially it was cheap.

The pyramids itself are 350 k triangles, and the sphinx 310 k. So not really low poly, but the model looks odd.

This is default look with sun-sky, though adjusted some setting in Tone mapping.

The textures are terrible, and only a base color map.

I tried to replace them with shaders.

Sorry, can't help with colours, just roughness visible in a photo from 1919 taken by my Grandfather. Sorry about the comparatively small size, was scanned from a 2.5" size print. The lens made the great pyramid seem quite small.

    Regards,

    Richard

Looks like in 1919 they had not yet dug out the legs of the Sphinx.

You're right. My grandfather visited a number of years later, and the legs were dug out then, I haven't got that photo scanned yet (not sure I can even remember where it should be...).

    Richard

    ...nice photo.

Yeah comparing the two renders of the set t the 1919 photon  I feel the photo has better detail.

    Took it off the wishlist.

I've used the Giza Plateau and find that you really have to play with the textures and/or replace them for the most part to make the models look good, unless you like the 'special' effect.

...I'm surprised it even passed muster.

Then again we have yet another new room space wth no way in or out.

I totally agree. Yet, according to Daz's support, there are no such products in the store... But discussions about how accurate or inaccurate that is are shut down on the forums.

I have pointed out before that such poor quality products can in fact be also produced using 3D scans with drone footage

Usually one has to spend a lot of time redoing the topology and textures because the scan cloud points converted to mesh is very messy

again, I don't know if it's the case here as wouldn't even buy the product looking at it but telling it apart from AI if that is the case, would be difficult

I actually use AI to do 3D scans

(up to 4 photos, front, back, left, right in Hunyuan 3D on my PC)

I have also done it the mathematical way with 40 photos from a spiraling circular path around an object and Meshroom

    the results were awful

so the lines are very blurred

GPU probably overheated while the PA was making it and it melted the model, happens all the time. Just got to throw some ice cubes in the case when that happens. Put a drain pain under it though with a few tea bags and you can make a nice cup of tea at the same time.
