Ungroup button?
Dear experts,
Background: I purchased a sofa. It has pillows on the seats. I cannot select the pillows. It looks like they are part of the sofa, even if they have a different surface. The pillows must have been made separately and added to the sofa at some point.
My question: Is there an "ungroup" button in Daz? Some way to release or delete the pillows?
Thanks!

There are a couple of things you can do, both of which require using the Geometry Editor to select each pillow - with luck it will be enough to click on a pillow, with the sofa seelcted, and then hit ctrl/cmd * to seelct all connected mesh. If not you may need to then cmd/ctrl click on an unseelcted part of the pilow and hit cmd/ctrl again until you have the whole thing.
option one is to then right-click>Geometry Select>Invert Selection, then right-click>Geometry Editing>Delete Selected Polygons. You will now have just the pillow left, File>Save As>Support Assets>Figure Prop Asset. The Author/Product names are going to be used for folder names in the Data folder - I would strongly suggest using an Author Name that reflects the fact that this is a modification of someone else's work. Reload the original Sofa and do the same for the enxt pillow, then for the whole sofa minus the pillows. You will end up with a set of separate props that you can load and move a round as needed
option two would be to right-click>Geoemtry Selection>Convert to Vertex Selection. Add a dForm, named for the pillow, and then switch to the Node Weightmap Brush tool. In Tool Settings click the Add Map for Influence Weights, then right-click>Weight Editing>Fill Selected and assign a value of 100%. Right-click>Geoemtry Selection>Invert Selection. Right-click>Weight Editing>Fill Selected and set the value to 0%. Now the dForm will move the pillow separately from the rest of the sofa. You can do the same with the other pillows.
option three would be to use Edit>Prop>Rigging>Convert to Figure. With the pilow Geometry still selected right-click>Geometry Assignment>Create Grpup from Selected and give it a name like Pillow1. Repeat for the other pillows. Switch to the Joint Editor tool, in the Scene pane select the root bone of the new figure,, right-click>Create>Create Child Bone, name it Pillow 1; repeat for the other pillows. Now seelct each bone in turn and in the Tool Settings pane use the Selection Group button to assign each pillow the matching group (so Pillow1 group goes to Pillow1 bone). Switch to the Node Weight Map Brush, select the bone, right-click>Geometry Selection>Select By>Select By Group>pick the matching pillow group. In Tool Settings make sure you have the general Weights map aplied and seelcted. Right-click>Weight Editing>Fill Selected and enter 100%. Once done for each pillow it will be a posable bone of the sofa.
Thanks, Richard!
