Amen, and even more so for Hair Textures. At least clothing textures usually make an item look significantly different, but how many slight variations on blonde, black, etc. does anyone reaaly need for the same hairprop?
I'm hoping more G8 stuff finds its way on there. There's no reason to keep the older tech at premium prices.
I agree with this, hair textures are something I rarely buy. Particularly since there are hair shaders that you can use to alter most polygon hairs, and the shaders often look better than the original textures for a lot of pre-Iray hairs.
Yes. Once I discovered SloshWerk's Iray hair shaders, I stopped buying hair texture packs. If a hair comes with a lot of presets, great. I still often get hairs as old as V4/M4, if I like the look & they are in Outlet or otherwise deeply discounted because it's relatively easy to use on later generations even G9.
Same. I don't buy hair-specific shaders anymore.
Other great shader packs I'd recommend are chevybabe's:

I have and use Vyktohria's To Dye For iray hair shaders that I bought at Rendo. They work quite well. Mostly, hair is universal. I treat it as a prop parented to the head of the recipient. So, generation to generation is perfectly fine. I've heard that's not necessarily the case with some G9 hair, but my (extensive!) hair collection is mostly M4/V4 to G8.1.
Sticking to a few favourite hair shader packs can make it easier to light characters consistently too.
