Glad to see artists like JeffersonAF http://My Log Cabin Winter Add-on making seasonal versions of their products. Yesterday I spent hours making snow on every nook and cranny of a different product. So this Add-on is a slam dunk for me. Need something winterish like the Redroof Hamlet. Has anyone purchased it, https://www.daz3d.com/redroof-hamlet, and if so are the houses unique from one another. The description offers 4 houses but to me they all look like duplicates or instances.

Here is what the props look like in Daz Sudio:

Thank you so much. That helped. I wish listed it in case I decide to invest some work into it. I asked because I do have the Medieval Forest Village (and 37 other products) which works great and looks good close up. Those MFV houses are only loaded via the full environment, and not readily available as a prop. Some of those houses do differ and can be reworked as standalone props. I like that the houses in your screenshot are available as props, but they do look too much like mirrored duplicates. Wish they varied just a tad more. Thanks again.

I am not sure how to read that image, though - it's in my cart, but I probably won't check out until later in the day.

That's exactly why I'm curious about that pop-up. It looks a little more rough than just being weathered, which is why I wondered how it holds up in close-ups.

Has anyone who has purchased Polish's Western Rocky Cabin (https://www.daz3d.com/polish-western-rocky-cabin) tried it yet? The 12th pop-up promo makes the cabin look really rough and I was wondering how it held up in close-ups or if it was better used at a distance.

Isn't it merant to be rough? Lots of broken down stuff around it too. I am not sure how to read that image, though - it's in my cart, but I probably won't check out until later in the day.

I went back and looked at the promos. The last one shows the included items and the cabin is labeled 'Abandoned Cabin Scene'. I am not sure how to take it. I have seen actual western towns that have survived over 150 years that were built way better than that cabin. But if the idea is someone is taking scraps to patch up a building, and finally gives up after the last (dust storm, downpour of monsoon season, ...) or just died in it, well then...

    Edit to correct spelling.

Oh interesting... I hadn't looked at it due to lack of need, but the 12th image really does look more like an oil painting. Which is lovely in its own way, but I could see a concern with it clashing stylistically with photorealistic characters.

I was wondering too, there are NO close up promo images of the cabin

  • I have to add, it doesn't present itself as being for close-ups so we can't really say it isn't living up to its promise.

Those textures are wild. The mesh is too, imo... Off the wishlist it's thrown.

https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-10-in-1-masculine-wardrobe-for-genesis-9 I admire the skill and talent, but the pants are really high waisted for my taste.

Suitable for 1950's era images, maybe? They had high waists.

Isn't it more the crotch that has been lowered?  Common trend these days.

That doesn't seem to be that case in the promo images. The waist of the trousers looks the be higher quite a bit higher than the navel. The crotch seems to be at an okay height, but they are cut like an inexpensive hotel - no ballroom.

Yea, I  can see that.  However, there are "Adjust Waist Lower/Upper" morphs, but whether they are for the pants, is the question.  And if it's for the pants, question is how much lower.

Î had to think of my grandpa, when I saw them. They have a retro look to me, but who knows - fashion trends can come back always.

Shame there is no belt to maintain them at such a high waisted position.

Quite a few PAs skip the belt even when there are modelled belt loops. I assume it is because the belt creates a lot of extra work with jcms to stop it distorting with some morphs and poses.

Yeah, Teen Kiddo wanted to hit Hot Topic a few months back, and I got the giggles at the denim bubble skirt on the rack. Proving, of course, that I'm still not hip enough to be in that store except as Stuff Holder and Credit Card Swiper: I didn't have one in the 80s/90s because I thought they were absurd, and I think it's even more weird that they're making a return. Seriously, of everything... /those/??

On the bright side, I could offer up some genuinely vintage other stuff I'd hung onto just in case, Teen Kiddo looked like they'd hit the jackpot, and it looked better on them than it ever had on me, so... win?

I checked the file list in the readme and there are morph files with that name listed for the pants.

Why does the Lala Wu HD for Genesis 9 Feminine item have a picture of a table harp? It doesn't seem to come with the instrument.

EDIT: My mistake. The README says it has a prop:

    • You can find new icons for loading this product in the following DAZ Studio Folders:

      • “People:Genesis 9:Characters”

      • “People:Genesis 9:Characters:Lala-Rabbit:Lala Wu”

      • “People:Genesis 9:Characters:Lala-Rabbit:Lala Wu:Materials”

      • “Props”

Looks like Roguey and Strangefate have gone back to supporting both major additional licenses (Ravager Harness), which is a good thing. But they haven't fixed Grimfang Axe, so the gesture just isn't enough, sadly, and I still won't be buying their new items. Can't trust that random pieces of their ongoing armor and weapon projects won't be permanently missing license options. :(

And such detail in the snow, too! Even the tire tracks on the road.

I'm looking forward to doing something pretty with this one. Not sure what it'll be, but.... yup, instantly in the cart.

My punch is secured for another day!

There something so pretty in Today's Deals, a set of poses with a luminous star, for both G9 and G8: https://www.daz3d.com/la-starlight-poses-and-props-for-genesis-8-and-9. It's such a wonderful idea, and fits the holiday theme so well without being tacky or anything. yes

As DAZ have declared this an Opposite Day, I will say:

I really love this: https://www.daz3d.com/silked-skins-hd-for-genesis-9. It is so nice and pain free for a character to have something like this fitted. It is totally non-fetish and non-repulsive to see this idea promulgated. And it is completely wonderful to see it failing to objectify women in any way, shape or form. It is completely appropriate to sell it in the shop here and not at R'otica. I will buy it every day for the rest of my life. Just Yes.

Just remember - DAZ declared an opposite day. They also put it up for sale.

    Regards,

    Richard

That just hurt to look at.

And I think nose rings are gross.

I've never understood why people want to have nose rings. My parents farmed for a number of years and had pigs with nose rings, and they're not exactly nice. Unless you're able to eat the pigs, of course, and not everyone can for various reasons.

    Regards,

    Richard
