I checked the update for Textures Booster and as far as I can tell, most of the scripts I tested (mainly the ones related to Genesis figures) are working as intended on Daz Studio 4.21 and 4.24 (on Windows in both cases).

Hurray!!! Great news thank you !!!!

All Wet and Tanned Skins products, as well as both Pose Master versions, are now fully updated in their bi-compatible builds, and are eagerly waiting for volunteer testers! Feel free to contact me however you prefer, (here, PM, elsewhere, email if you have it)...

Please note : the scripts allowing sequence preview of images are now slower to start on this sequence preview action. The price to pay to be bi-compatible.

Did you still need someone to test them ?

Just saw your message (I was spending a few days in an obscure update...)... OH YES I DO ! Are you up for it?

  • ElorElor Posts: 3,960

Yes. I have the Genesis 3 and Genesis 8.1 bundles, and the Genesis 9 product.

  • V3DigitimesV3Digitimes Posts: 3,432

And now, you'll also have the Genesis 8 version !
    WONDERFUL, thank you so much!
As I am  working on other updates and don't want to "lose the focus", I will pack everything this week-end or early next week (the scripts are ready but everything must be re-packaged, ... yes, this will take some space on your computer...)
I should be able to send you everything you need to start next week...I'll contact you via PM if I don't already have your mail.
I'm soooo happy right now... THANK YOU!

Updating today with a couple of additional :
    - either natively working products
    - new updated versions waiting for tester

  • V3DigitimesV3Digitimes Posts: 3,432

    Updating information today with:

    • newly updated products (DS6 compatibility),

    • a clarified status for products that install scripts in menus,

    • a note about a temporary stand-by for updates: only one product remains, currently paused due to menu installation issues in DS6.

Further updates will resume once the menu-related behavior in DS6 is clarified or stabilized.

It's very nice to keep us informed.

    Thanks a lot

You're welcome. This is absolutely normal, not to let people in the dark.

In my experience, what people with a high sense of duty and self-imposed standards consider "normal" is very much not. You're outstanding. Get a nice cup of your beverage of choice, let yourself be complimented, and realize how much you deserve both those things before we stage an intervention for chronic perfectionism.

Or keep coding the day away for our sakes. I guess that would also be good.

I so appreciate what you do for us.  Love your products and am so excited that you are working to make them usable in the the Alpha.  I was forced into a 5060 card (long story, and I'm not really sorry but jumping between studio sessions is a pain!) so it means a lot to be able to use stuff I already own.  And will most definitely make me want to purchase more of your stuff!

Sorry for the late reply!!! I’ve been swamped lately between update follow-ups and new projects.
Thank you for the kind words… I never quite know what to say in those moments (probably a GenX thing XD), but I was genuinely touched. Thank you so much.

  • One that I haven't seen mentioned here is Maps Copier Gatherer Renamer. Specifically on MacOS, it looks like it wants to work, it finds all the maps and you can edit the names, but the button to selct the destination folder does not work - so you can't proceed to actually process anything. Will this one get updated? Is it a Mac only issue? Using the latest Beta for DS2026.

This one is already updated ON MY COMPUTER. But not submitted because of the lack of testers and the absence of green lights for DS6 updates from Daz.
If you want to (beta) test the DS6 version, just PM me ;) I'd be glad to have a tester for this one!!!
I'll also update the main post if I have forgotten to add the Maps Copier in it.

If you are still looking for beta testers, I've finally installed DS2026Beta. I find it better in most cases except for essential scripts and missing plugins. Really need IRAY Lights Mgr Pro. :)

  • V3DigitimesV3Digitimes Posts: 3,432

Thanks! Yes, I’m still looking for beta testers. Just send me a PM and we’ll arrange something. :)

I've used Light Pro a few times without incident. Not really much to report.

  • V3DigitimesV3Digitimes Posts: 3,432

    Hurray!!!
Thanks a lot! “Used a few times without incident” is already very good news for me.

    Bad news today...

Something seems to have changed in the way lists (DzListView) are handled in DS6, so all my updated scripts using this type of list must now be reviewed to check whether they are impacted or not.

I noticed this while testing Scene Optimizer in DS6: after optimization, the list view information was no longer displayed, even though the optimization itself was correctly processed. I fixed this specific issue, but I now need to check my other products to see whether this patch must be deployed elsewhere.

Good news: at this stage, I think none of the products currently listed as “DS6 compatible” should be impacted.

Still, if you notice any issue in my products DS6 with lists - lists of checkable items - please let me know.

Well... I guess this 100% justifies why we still don’t have the green light from Daz to submit the updates.

Finally needed to play with Wet And Tan 9. So far nothing seems out of the ordinary.

Hello. I'm writing here in the hope of getting some clarification or help. I've been using Scene Optimizer in Daz for years. It's essential software for me, as many of the scenes I create are complex and full of characters. Despite good hardware, without it, I'd spend too many hours on each scene. I recently upgraded to Daz Studio 6, and unfortunately, it keeps giving me the following error: Error in script execution: C:/Users/Public/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library/scripts/v3digitimes scene optimizer/v3dso 02 scene optimizer.dse. Is this just my problem, or is the software, like many others, incompatible with Daz  6? I know the program can be used in Daz 4.24 and the scene can then be opened in Daz 6, but this isn't a long-term solution. Are there any real workarounds? Because otherwise, I would have to severely limit my use of the program without Scene Optimizer in Daz 6.
    Thank you for your attention.

The version currently available from Daz is not compatible with DS 6 but an updated version is in the hand of beta testers (by that, I means people like you and me who volunteered to help test the update in DS4 and DS6 to see if everything is working fine in the two versions), according to the first message:

Scene Optimizer : along with enhancement features (such as the number of normal maps, the open doc button in the notes, two buttons to switch base or high resolution). Beta testers active (thx!)

From what I understand, updates only to add DS 6 compatibility were not allowed so far, and in another discussion, V3Digitimes said that she doesn't know if they are allowed, now that DS6 is officially out of beta:

Thank you so much for all the clarifications. I'll be waiting with confidence for a new version, which I'd gladly purchase, or for an update. Thanks also to the developer for her dedication.

    Thank You. I

    You're welcome.
I mainly have to check if the two of three (or more) last dev versions of DS6 alpha did not impact the update, as it seems they did at least something on listviews (or similar). Then I have to have Daz confirm we have the green light for the updates. Then I have to launch the submission process and make some decisions, and re-test most of them because their update was finished a couple of months ago, i.e. well before this current DS6 version. In the middle of that I have to finish my PA festival project and to start anticipating the future products.
I'll handle all this in parallel. So things will go more slowly.
But I'm still taking beta testers on most projects (except the wet and tanned skins) if some of you are interested!

    Hi, @V3Digitimes

Just want to ask you, if it is easier to develop scripts for Daz Studio 6, since DS 6 is released?

  • V3DigitimesV3Digitimes Posts: 3,432

Honestly, not really, at least not for regular Daz Script development.

For existing script products, DS6 currently means more compatibility work, because we have to make sure the same tools still behave correctly in both DS4 and DS6. Some things work the same, some things behave slightly differently, some edge cases need specific workarounds, and some things still fail completely, such as parsing DUF files that contain large simulation data blocks.

Plugins and SDK development are not really new, of course. The main difference is that DS6 provides a more recent technical base, so this development path may remain stable and usable for longer than the old DS4 SDK environment.

So for now, I would not say scripting is easier in DS6. It is mostly an additional compatibility layer to handle carefully.

Thank you very much for the answer. Great to know about all these additional matters in further development.
