@FrankTheTank it's only low compared to how high it's been. Keep in mind, the price hike did not bring an increase in benefits and historically, we've been able to get a year of Daz+ for $35 or less. Now we're all like, $52! What a bargain! Still not really a bargain, if you ask me.

The only real new benefit is the advent of the outlet store, and you need a membership to get the best pricing there. Also, there are times when it makes sense to take a month of Premier and the membership system doesn't really accommodate that when you have an annual D+ sub.

..,I once got an annual membership for a coupile USD less than the price of a quarterly once.

yeah, I remember those days. I think I had a few years actually down to like $18 a year when paid for with discounted Gift Cards and buying several years at at a time. Still in current times its a good deal, as you point out it's the only way to get the best discounts on the Outlet and Quick Grab stores and that may be the only real benefit right now, but it is a huge benefit imo.

I did take one month of Premier back during March Madness, just to get the freebie morph packages for G9 and to test out G9. But I was left unimpessed, and so for me I see no reason to ever get Premier again after that 1 month trial. I have no plans to use G9 ever again and DS 2025 Premier is probably never gonna work out for me since I use a lot of plugins that only work for DS 4x and some of those will never get updated since the PAs have passed on.

So for me Daz+ is good enough. The only real benefit I see for Premier is the $5 token stacking, but the best deals for me have always been the unexpected glitches where having those tokens are usually meaningless. I have 6 tokens right now that will probably expire before I use them. They just never seem to work out as expected, they just add sales pressure on me to use them before they expire. Now if they could be used on Outlet and QuickGrab that would be another story, but until that happens I don't really care about tokens anymore.

I think I'll let some tokens lapse today. The sales offers are really so bad from my point of view. Haven't had that happen in ages, I think only once in total. But I'm not gonna buy a new item around 5 dollars or such every single day, just to get anything like a good discount. Especially with most of the new stuff being basic 'Rosity skimp wear. This is celebrating 25 years of DAZ, is it?

  • It's Day 8 of the sale. Only once have I bought anything that wasn't a freebie, which was during last weekend's flash sale (plus $10 DO coupon & my last tokens, so <$2). The only things I have added to my wishlist are a couple of Quick Grabs so I won't have to go looking when/if I am in the mood to buy a cheap No Buy-ins cart.

What happens if you return items which have helped you gain tokens?  Will the tokens be reset to reflect order status after the return?

I don't remember losing tokens after asking for a refund. As far as I can see, when asking for a refund, Daz will only check if the refund window is still open and if you are asking for too many refunds.

I don't know if it has an impact, but I always asked for a refund in store credit (I don't want to pay the Euro to Dollar conversion fee two times).

For those who don't scroll far enough (understandable), there's new member weekly freebie available: https://www.daz3d.com/garden-flowers--new-york-asters

unfortunately none of my WL items are on sale so 15% off doesn't cut it. I grabbed the 3 free items and the $1.49 bunkers, plus 4 or 5 items from Quick Grab. Was hoping for some better offers today, especially with double token day, but pretty much the same other than the extra free item. My Premiere ends Thursday so the ongoing  debate again, will something grand come about or just same rest of sale.

Thanks, Joanna. I almost missed the freebie. Yet these little asters are so pretty!

OK, thanks.  Just curious, came to think of it when I removed an item from my cart and the tokens dropped from 4 to 2.  Must be a lot to keep track of programming wise with all the conditions included in the sales these days.

For the second year in a row, no less.

(I looked it up because I thought maybe I was remembering it wrong -- nope, the Oct. 2024 thread has references to the 25th anniversary sale. Maybe this is like some women turning 29 every year for a decade or so?)

...there needs to be a "Wilson" texture for the volleyball.

Apparently, my grandma was turning 49 multiple years in a row, and one of my aunts finally asked how old she really was that year. Turned out she had been making herself older by just pretending she still wasn't going to be turning 50 instead of actually refering to her real age, so that year she really did turn 49. Lol

Okay, that's just funny! I can never remember how old I am until I sit down and math it out. Easier these days, as I DO know how old Little Dude is, so I just add 40 to that instead of having to figure things out from birth year. =P (And if it's between early March and the end of June, subtract one.)

Thanks guys for the chuckle amidst this sale's dreariness! - At least the silhouette rendering thingy looks nice today. But man, I wish this sale would just end already.

After today's freebie, and with a long day and me getting kind of absurd nearing the end(ish) (please any kind deity or fate, let this be near-ish the end), it dawned on me that the daily offerings are much like a game of Duck, Duck, Grey Duck.

Vase, vase, vase, vase, vase, vase, vase, vase - marbles!! Vase, vase, vase vase - ball! Vase...

I don't know if anyone noticed, but there seems to be fewer doorbusters than there used to be new releases. Which means less choices for the buy-in, and most of them have been uninteresting to me. I saw the silhouttes product and thought it looked interesting, but it was made by Dreamlight, so it's a hard no for me. Oh well, maybe tomorrow there's going to be something. I still have 4 days before most of my tokens expire, so maybe the weekend will bring something exciting.

But, on the bright side, Shades of Beauty section with "Extra X% off" is actually extra, not just one discount on full priced items.

I don't have anything of theirs beyond a couple props that I haven't even used yet, do their products not work well/easily?

I have quite a few and they're hit or miss (some nice, some horrible to work with), but it was more of a personal decision based on ethics. I don't know their creation process, so I can't tell what they do or don't do, but very characteristic artifacts in some of their products (like here) made me decide that I will personally not support them (which is sad as I found their tutorials worth the money). As there's no way to discuss such things or seek clarification, it's just my personal decision which might be based on wrong assumptions.

Ah, I see. I share your ethics, so appreciate the heads-up. Also don't really have the patience for hit-or-miss quality.

Yeah. Same. I'm actually not an advanced Daz user, so the "you can edit the metadata," "you could fix the textures," or even "you could edit the mesh in Blender and export it back" solutions aren't really for me. If I'm playing around, it's to learn new things and have fun, not to be frustrated and forced to make products usable.

Right there with you. I don't mind playing with textures and geometry editor when it's something I want that's niche enough that I'll never get it otherwise... that's a personal triumph when I get it to work out. But to me that falls in a vastly different category than having to put in time/effort compensating for poor construction where the thing doesn't function like it's supposed to in the first place. I want to use my art time actually making the art.

Heh... after so many great deals for the PA sale, it feels weird not having any shopping to do. I keep checking back, sure I must be missing something.

Lack of relevant-to-me things + lack of attractive pricing is a mercy, though. It's going to take months for me to get all my FG stuff logged anyway, from that one amazing flash sale I caught.

  • I'm losing a bunch of tokens today at Daz midnight. There just hasn't been anything for me in days - only the occasional newly released item that calls to me, and no sale yet that touches my wishlist (which is all new, or just out of new).

IT was like this last year, too. Slow to start, but then once it picked up it seemed like it stayed that way through the rest of the year.

Sales are meh, but this thread is funny.

I hope that, at least, on the last day, they will give us an art gallery so we can make an exhibition with our vases.
