    In Celebration of Richard's 100,000th Forum Post

    I am simply linking this other thread here, since it is not behind a Daz+ Member paywall. I see no reason to copy and paste everything, including reader comments, here. That is a lot of work, and I'm worn out from all the posse renders and horse repair renders! (Although I relish every minute of it.)
    Keep up the good work posting, helping and inspiring, Richard. Maybe you'll hit 200,000 some day. I hope to be here to document it in my usual ridiculous way.

    Thank you. Yes, I was a participant in the eye discussions, too. Many of us, it seems, are at that point in life now. I want to get back to posting about Jack and Richard here now.

    I'm still tracking down older renders of Jack and Richard.
    Last year (2024) during the holidays, several PAs offered treasured freebies. The freebies are limited time offers, no longer available (as far as I know). There is a thread in the Commons where many of use posted renders using those freebies. Richard (and occasionally Jack) appeared in many of my renders. I'm adding those here. 

    NewGuy gave us  NG Holiday Gnome Stuffy

    Jack's wife finally relented and let Jack invite Richard for Christmas Dinner. I think Richard is about to be banned from the house again.

    barbult: (to NewGuy) Yes, I used UltraScatter Matrix mode to create 9 vertical rows of 11 horizontal rows of Gnome instances, from a group of 4 actual mesh Gnomes. The shelf rows were created UltraScatter Matrix mode, too, from one actual mesh shelf. I had UltraScatter scale the Gnome down to fit all of those on the wall.

    There is no royalty in the Old West, hence lèse-majesté does not strictly apply here. During the posse story, I had forgotten about your episode as Sheriff, but as we will see in upcoming renders, things might not always be as they initially seem.

    Yes, you and Milly (even when we only knew her as "Jack's Child") have always had an interesting relationship. I'm sure she has learned a lot from you (for better or worse).

    Mike Toon is shocked when a brick flies through his window. Richard is trying to point at Mike's archnemesis ND Gudann just outside the window, but it is hard to point with cat paws.

    Richard wanted to play tennis with Angela, to get some exercise, but those darn cat paws couldn't hold a tennis racket. So, he had to be the ball boy instead. At least he still got his exercise. Angela celebrated her second game win, while the tennis officiant waited on the bench to award a prize to the eventual winner of the match.

    Dystopian Holidays

    Richard went for a walk, but he got lost. He ended up in a strange dystopian world, where he encountered a lone woman. She was celebrating the holidays with her family heirloom centerpiece, which she stored for 11 months out of the year in the old coffer that she took with her wherever she went. She also had her non-denominational holiday headband. These pristine pieces looked quite out of place with her dirty skin and hair and her ragged clothing. She was doing the best she could. Her day was immensely improved by the warmth of a friendly visiting cat.

    Richard is tired of Dystopia-World. He wouldn't be here if he hadn't gotten lost. Now he wants to go home, before he dies here, like Mr. Rattlepaws. But which way should he go? It is all so confusing. Out pops a strange little woman. Is she a witch, a fairy, a munchkin, a sorceress, or what?
    Richard: Can you help me find my way home? I miss my friends and my warm cat bed.
    Little Woman: Just follow the candy cane row. It will lead you wherever you want to go.
    Richard: But it is so long! It seems to go on forever. I don't think I can walk that far.
    Little Woman: I know a short cut. You will need my ruby slippers. Here you go...
    Richard: Thanks! I'll put them on my back feet. I'm looking forward to getting home. There's no place like home!
    Bingo! And just like that, Richard was home in his comfy cat bed!

    Richard, You're Back!

    Richard (waking up): Lola, I needed that nap. I've had quite a month so far.
    Thank goodness your hair isn't green anymore, Lola! Blonde is a better look for you.
    I hope I never see another gnome - there must have been a hundred of them on the living room shelves. I tried to take them all down and pass them around. One wandered out into the snow and nearly froze to death. The only good gnome I've ever known was my deputy sheriff. 
    I hope that creepy box with the glowing eyes doesn't show up again. It has a way of hiding in unexpected places.
    I ate so much holiday food - turkey, casseroles, cupcakes and on and on. I ended up with a whole tuna can in my stomach. The best food was Jack's turkey, though, and his kid is so cute!
    These Christmas pillows are so comfy, I'm glad to see you moved them to my cat bed, thanks.
    Did you know I had a furry tail for a few days and painted some canvases that sold for millions? The turpentine bath destroyed my tail fur extensions, though.
    Oh, I found those missing sunglasses in the laundry room, but I had to paw through several baskets first. I hope you didn't mind picking up all the clothes I dislodged.
    I have a surprise for you when we go to the Daz Holiday Party, It's a secret; I hope you will be pleased!
    Is Mike Toon still being harassed by ND Gudann, or did I successfully scare him away?
    Angela invited me to play tennis, but I can't hold a racket in these paws, so they let me be the ball boy instead. I had a good time, but the balls all ended up with claw and tooth marks, so I don't think I will be invited back. Such a shame.
    The scariest thing was when I roamed about the neighborhood without a plan and got lost. I ended up in a strange Dystopia-World with poor internet service. One nice lady petted me and enjoyed my company, but I couldn't find my way back home. A strange little woman came to my rescue and gave me her ruby slippers, so I didn't have to follow the endless candy cane row. You know what, she was wearing those sunglasses I found in the laundry room. I wonder how she got them... I wonder what happened to all those gnomes... I wonder how they got the tuna can out of my stomach... How did you get the green out of your hair... Did I really learn to dance?

    Lola: Richard, yes, you've had quite a month! You've been feverish and delusional for a couple weeks.

    Richard: I learned that there really is no place like home!

Also, I must confess I adore the adventures of Richard, Llola and (occasionally) Jack.  And they are such good sports about them, this is the kind of thing that makes me feel so at home in these forums ^_^
    barbult: I'm glad you are amused. That is the intent. These stories are not pre-planned. They just come about on their own, sometimes because of something else I just bought, like the dystopian  environment and the photo shoot poses and props. Sometimes one story will build upon previous ones. I have set a goal to include Richard in every one of these gift renders, so that also has an impact on what the render turns out ot be.
    Merry Christmas. I hope Jack got his Christmas card photo done in time. He looks pretty snazzy in that illuminated bodysuit, fluffy socks, and headband. cheeky

    Richard: I thought I'd take a spa day, but it is getting awfully hot in here, and it is a little too deep. Will you fish me out with your cane, please?

    Stuck on the Throne

    Richard was thirsty, but unfortunately he approached the "watering hole" from the wrong direction and got stuck on the stone throne. He couldn't move forward or backward. He was stuck! After much loud meowing, Jack and barbult finally heard his pleas for help.
    Jack: A couple squirts of this L-BO Grease and some tugs from barbult, and you should be free in a couple minutes.

    Richard Haseltine: Who 'aven't rained their 'umans to turn the ta' on when required. Sorry, having trouble speaking right now (and walking - though at least I wasn't pulled by the tail).
    barbult: I didn't think I could get enough leverage with that flexible tail. Legs looked like a better option, and there were two, one for each of my talons.

    People Watching

    Rob and Richard were out relaxing and people watching after work, when a distracted Lianna came down the path in her new pink flowered dress. It looks like she is about to trip over Rob's big feet. Richard is  excited to see what happens. Maybe he will meow loudly to get her attention and save her in the nick of time. Or maybe he'll just watch it all unfold.

    I couldn't leave poor Richard wiith funny feeling fur. I took him back to the salon for a deep conditioning and brush out.

    Poker Party - I'm an Excellent Card Player

    The holidays are over. All petty grievances have been forgiven. Richard's fur is feeling fine. Jack's Christmas card was a hit. The food was delicious and the gifts were fabulous. The gang got together for a poker party before everyone had to go back to mundane activities. barbult is dealing. She has the advantage of being able to fly to whoever needs a card next.

    Probably. But I really hope you are not truly forlorn by your imaginary adventures. Nobody else gets the attention you get, for what that's worth.

    A Short Story

    Lola leans a little too far while reaching for the sunscreen. The tipping wicker lounger catapults Richard toward his greatest nightmare - WATER!

    Lola: Richard, remember your dance lessons! Move your arms and legs around like that. Point yourself toward the pools stairs. There! You've got it!
    Richard Haseltine: Well I'll be darned! I am an excellent swimmer!!!! I'll never have to be afraid of water again. Wow, what a revelation!
