After a two months hiatus, the idea that was on the back of my brain since mid-april, jumped my brain yesterday (just before I was going to sleep…) and here's my entry for July, straight from the oven: 'Morning stroll in Tokyo'

Victoria and Lacey were enjoying a lovely morning stroll in Tokyo, in the neighbourhood around their hotel.

    *grumble grumble*

    *sshhhhh*

Taking to heart the advice of someone living in Japan they both followed on Youtube, Lacey carried their umbrella, to protect them from the already hot and aggressive sun.

    *Wait, wait, it’s not pos… *

At the corner of two small streets, they made a pause and ended with Lacey leaning toward Victoria…

    *It’s not possib…*

*WE KNOW IT’S A DREAM! You’re supposed to be the rational part among us, you don’t need to be the obnoxious one either. Let us enjoy a happy dream!*

Outside of the dream, in their flat in the US, unaware of the bickering between parts of her brain, Victoria moved a bit in her sleep, snuggling closer to Lacey before jumping right in a new sleep cycle, hoping the dream would resume right after it was stopped.

All items used should be listed in the gallery, except the poses used for Lacey and Victoria, who are a creation of @ParallaxCreates, who is now selling elsewhere (see this discussion).

    Edit:

For a location (I try and pick the month of the year) so July is Montreal, and I cannot find any obvious wonderful landmarks for Montreal (Je suis désolée, Montreal, eh ...cheeky), so here my idea of what the approach to Montreal looks like ...

I really wanted to do a picture with the Sphinx, but couldn't find a free model of one anywhere (that looked like the one on the outskirts of Cairo, anyway).  So, because I coulnd't find what I wanted, this render was born!  You never know what will cause inspiration to hit XD  I obviously chose JANUARY = Cairo, Egypt.

    The Sphinx Revived

(I always thought it would be amazing to one day visit Egypt, and see the pyramids and the Sphinx.)

The day had started out as usual, with visitors and guides meandering around the area where the huge, limestone Sphinx had sat for literal ages.  It had been a consistent fixture there since it was built around 2500 BC.  Or at least, everyone believed that it had been built of limestone all those millenniums ago…

As the morning passed, the sky grew cloudy, with a distinct pinkish haze casting strange light across the pyramids.  The crowds began to become uneasy as the strange color spread, and many left when a sudden sandstorm began to come in, as well.  There was a thick, almost electric feeling in the air, and it made the few people remaining nervous and on edge.

And then it happened.  There was a huge flash of light, and suddenly the rocky “skin” of the Sphinx began to crumble and fall away.  The sandstorm became stronger, and the noise of it drowned out everything.  People were fleeing, terrified at what they saw: A giant creature of some kind was rising up from underneath the broken limestone!

As the creature blinked in the harsh sunlight, it looked around - first at itself, as if even it didn’t know what it was, and then at the screaming crowds.  But after a moment that seemed like an eternity, it remembered itself.  The Sphinx had never been built.  It had been merely contained.

(I couldn’t decide on which version to use - the original one, or the one where I added a lot of magical effects.  So I hope it’s ok that I’m just posting them both here!)

    Rendered in Daz Studio Iray.

    Postwork in Pixelmator Pro.

The shape I have chosen is the rectangle, and it's front and center (sort of :o) in 'Morning routine':

Every morning it’s the same routine: Lacey wakes up, makes herself a cup of coffee and spend a bit of time revealing in the smell of hot coffee.

Victoria find it both cute and funny, not that she would ever explain to Lacey the why of the later.

The truth is, as a non-believer in coffee, she thinks that coffee smells nice but doesn't taste great.

So, each time she saw Lacey’s doing her morning routine, she could not avoid imagining that the first step of that routine was saturating Lacey’s nose’s smell receptors, to make her brain unable to process the taste of coffee.

Not that she was willing to test her theory, of course, especially because in the end, it didn’t matter: after all, coffee did put a smile on both her faces.

As usual, paid products from Daz3D are linked in the gallery. One was bought on Rendersoty, created by Nelmi.

sueya > The doors in the backgroud looks a bit like they are from West Park Ward :D

Nice render and I like how even the light is casting a squared shadows around the saxophonist :)

stezza > Nothing to add except 'mmm pie' indeed :D

SimonJM > I like the way the rule was twisted with star :D Lights feel better in the second version :)

Well. it's September. I hope everything is good with Llola. It's a few days since the last login.

I just start with the animals ...

    Schlange an der Kasse

    (Queue at the checkout)

Explanation: It's a play on words in german: "Schlange" means snake, but also describes a queue at the checkout, due to its elongated and winding shape (I assume).

OH my... I missed August :(  I'm sooo sorry everyone... My real life has been a shambles this month... Dad had to be put in a nursing home... Mom lost her driversliscence so we are driving her to see him almost every day... then.. Mom walks to dad (the home is 11minutes away ...about 9houses) and she falls in the driveway and messes her face royal... Emergency room visit... no broken bones or concussion... She is SUPERWOMAN doctor said... but she looks aweful... then follow up visit a week later at doctor.. gets home and they call telling her to GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM... her sodium is low... Ok.. I take mom to the ER... we are expecting a shot or pill... NOPE.. she needs 2 giant IV bags of sodium... so overnight stay... By this time she is sick of hospitals AND the nursing home... Poor mom... It's been a few days and things are a little calmer now.. She's walking better (which low sodium can affect the heart and muscles).. Still needs her cane but she's not complaining of sore muscles anymore.  We got her an emergency button to wear on her neck and are paying for a service... Sheesh... One thinks when you get older one can relax..but one forgets about ones older parents.. lol.  Then.. I'm writing this post and Daz freezes up on me and gives me error message!!!!!!!!!!!!  ughhh... Luckily i screen captured what i wrote... Whew..

Oh.. and I've quit volunteering at the animal shelter I was at... They wanted to KILL the foster cat I fostered for a few months who's hooman passed away at Christmas.  They said Soxy was a DANGER to the employees and volunteers... pft... She was just scared.. never bit anyone... never scratched anyone... I think they would be crabby too if their loved one passed away after being with him for 11 years!  Long story short.. Soxy is living in our familyroom and has a gate between her and our cats... we are managing... but no one wants an older cat so we are dealing with it.. We've known her for 8 months and we have lots of patience.. I kiss her whether she likes it or not.  LOL

So.. That is our August... WHEW... Sure hope September is better... Not telling you all this for sympathy... just wanted to let you all know ... I... am ok... But the rest of the world isn't!

I hope your mom continue to get better :)

Before she passed away, my grand-mother also had a couple of times during which it was hard for her to walk (including due to a lack of sodium too) but up until the end, she was always able to get back enough in shape to enjoy getting out of her home even when only my mom (her daughter) was here to help her walking down the stairs to go outside and up to get back to her home.

I also hope that you have your own support team: it's important to take care of yourself too while taking care of your parents :)

Thanks acb.. Soxy is sleeping now.. shhh... and we are off to visit mom in the morning to take her to see dad... So hard seeing loved ones that were once a rock turn into mush :(  Really need to find a cure for Dimentia... Poor dad just stares at mom and barely talks to her... But she's a rock for both of them.  I love them both dearly.

Thanks Elor... Mom can still get around and cook her own food.. etc... Her housekeeping has gotten a little lax but that is understandable... Hubby likes to vaccume so he did her whole house!  Filled 2 bags!  She should be good for a while.. lol.  We may have to invest in a housekeeper once a week.  It's hard to maintain OUR house plus hers... but she's ok.. so far (fingers crossed)...p.s.... We are eating regularly... Hubby and I are our own support team... We are all she has in town... good thing we all get along :)  I love mom!
