I think the cabin is in my wishlist, but one thing keeps bugging me: is there a toilet somewhere on the cabin (even one with a non-rigged lid )?
The short answer is: no. The inside is quite sparce, you only get the sofa, fireplace, dining room set and sink, which is probably why most promo scenes are set outside.
The long and rambling answer is that there can be if you are prepared to do the work yourself to add some custom props and modifications because there is space for one. There is that triangular section that other than having the "inset kitchenette" with the sink in the diniing area is otherwise empy space. It is currently walled off by a single surface named "Rack" and so it could be that the PA left it like this to offer potential for an addon later down the line that could swap this out for a more furnished interior.
In it's current state you'd have to do some work yourself with a "tiny house" or "van life" mindset. For instance, you can imagine that the "Rack" wall has compartments that use those "push to open" style doors which explains the lack of handles/knobs. The "living room" half of the triangular "rack" has three sections behind it, the largest of them does have room for a toilet - even if a little snug. I have made a little mockup to give an idea of the size it provides.
In this quick mock-up I just separated the geometry that made up that area from the rest of the "rack" and hid it. Added a primitive to act as a door and threw in a toilet, loo roll holder and ceiling light to complete the "room". You could argue that this should be a "wet room" with a shower attachement also. However, perhaps an isolated cabin like this would be the type of place that has an outside shower?
Hopefully, that is not too far off topic - at a stretch I will claim that adding facilities to an isolated cabin can probably count as "better" for the month's theme
Hi Everyone.. I'm still about... Just a little while longer for the Month of December than on to 2026... I think I will retire my challenges for now. It's been 10 wonderful years of renders but life has taken a bit of a twist for me this year. I am not rendering Daz much lately. Taking care of mom and dad (now in a home) is taking up a lot of my time. My 'quick' visits to moms are turning into half day excursions. Hubby and I have been trying to do every other day and swapping who takes her where... poor dad barely knows us anymore (dimensia)... I'm not telling you all for sympathy... We are taking things day by day.. but I feel I have grown to know you all a little and as my 'friends' i just wanted to let you know i'm doing ok. If you'd like to keep up with my life you are welcome to follow me on facebook. I'm pretty much an open book. I don't post any politics.. religion.. etc on my FB and i try and keep it upbeat as much as possible. The world needs more UPbeat..lol. Anyway... I care for each and every one of you... Life is precious.. please do stay well.. I will try and post one last image this weekend. Hugzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

It will be a shame not to have a 2026 challenge thread but real lfe, family and yourself should always be priorities, and there is only so many hours in a day. Hopefully, you'll still pop by occasionally and/or post a new render if time allows without the pressure of running a whole challenge thread.
Will keep my fingers crossed for some positivity and all the good things in 2026 for you and the rest of us too!

I'll be sad to see the challenge retire, but real life must always come first! It's sounds like you've got a lot on your plate right now, so I hope any art you do can be for relaxation, not as an obligation. You are always such a sweet, joyful presence here on the forums, your posts make me smile ^_^ I'll be praying for you and your family, and thanks for letting us know!!!!

Thank you Fae3D... I will miss you all.. but I'm not gone from Daz.. just may see me at my own thread now and then. If life changes.. I can always start the challenges back up :) We shall see what 2026 has holds... Please do stay well.. hugzzzzzzzzzz
ok.. my last render for the challenges and for the year...
I wanted to redo an old render so I picked the STRIPE one I did for January 2014... the old version was done in 3delight and since we are seeing it go by the wayside from what i've read... I remade it to IRAY... I had to tweak some textures and I lost some of the stripe fabrics I had from the original so it looks a little different. I still can't get THE KIDS to look as realistic as I like... I always thought it was the lighting but I'm beginning to think it's the textures on the kids.. they are quite flat. The poses are stiff... but overall I like the new Iray version... here is before and after.. ENJOY... Hugzzzzzzzzzzzz
Best Wishes to you and your family and I hope that 2026 goes as well as possible.
Will look forward to your return when you are ready, thanks for the fun
Awe Stezza... Leave to you to create an artwork to make me smile/cry.... I will miss you all too... Please do keep in touch... ALL are welcome to message me or follow me on Facebook... My life is an open book... Hugzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

We are taking her to see dad almost every other day. He barely remembers us :( but he will well take care of. We try to help mom as much as possible but her short term memory is going. She misses dad.. They had over 60years together!
I have not created a render since this last posted artwork.
I miss you all also... Life changes but I'm still about.. I wish you and my other friends here.. glorious days! Hugzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

It is sooo hard to watch the ones that took care of us now needing US to take care of them. If dad knew what was going on he would hate it. I guess dimensia has one good point.. He's pretty much living day by day in the home. We visit him more for us than for him. It's just hard on mom. Thanks oodles for response... hugzzzzzz

Thanks Simon... Mom and I say we are on a 'great adventure'... lol. We have to.. just gotta keep smilin'. I'm volunteering a little at the home dad is at... they want to hire me but I keep telling them I'm retired.. lol. The activities room has a lot of activity and I love crafting... They have a birthday party once a month for all the residents that have birthdays in the month. It is a small place (only 52 beds) and they all love dad... He's such a laid back resident. The home is only about 10 houses up the street for mom, so he's close to her. Hardest part is remembering the 'good times' and how vibrant they both were. Hubby and I are all they have.. the rest of the family is all over the USA... lol. Good thing we all get along. Anyway... I'm gonna try and get some artwork done soon.. I have an exhibit coming up in SecondLife this summer and I want to put out all new artworks. It will force me to create. I have a thread here for my artwork so I'll be adding to it also. Hugzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz n thank you for responding Simon and Saph.
Llola, use your great adventures as inspiration to love & life which will open up a whole new image creation world for you... don't force just flow and get inspired by your experiences.

Good idea Stezza.. I got a little inspiration tonight.. With all the storms we had no internet... Luckily we had electricity and I have a FULL library of Daz so don't need internet.. LOL. I actually rendered over 10 new artworks for a project I'm working on in SecondLife. :) Quickies mostly using preset scenes.. but I DID accomplish something! LOL
I will give some thought to your suggestion.. Life has been mostly... going to nursing home.. taking mom food shopping... Doctor visits (ughh)... Not sure WHAT I can come up with .. but I WILL think on it :) lol

This month has been monumentally stressful and so I have definitely picked both quiet and calm for my topic choice.
A simple scene but very-much wishful thinking right now.
Gallery link for used assets - although other than the Tiny Lake Cabin everything else is barely distinctive.
Green
Quiet (for now...)
(3Delight & Gimp)
Nice!
Very peaceful render
I think the cabin is in my wishlist, but one thing keeps bugging me: is there a toilet somewhere on the cabin (even one with a non-rigged lid
)?
I hope he's not planning on poping the bottle open, otherwise, he will have a surprise when he'll go full speed backward
For now indeed
The short answer is: no. The inside is quite sparce, you only get the sofa, fireplace, dining room set and sink, which is probably why most promo scenes are set outside.
