Kinda bummed nothing I wanted worked out to a price I was willing to pay for it today... guess I'll pick a CD off Amazon for my annual Father's Day present to myself. (I figure if I'm pulling dual duty, I get both holidays!)

Might hold off to see what tomorrow brings, though. If the Outlet refreshes, I could consider it a nice belated one. :)

I agree! Happy Father's Day. My dad became my solo parent when I was 10 and you better believe I got him Mother's Day cards & gifts too.

    *****

I did more cart acrobatics than usual to get them but I used my $10 DO code & tokens to get a few G8 era things off my WL.

Congrats on the haul -- and the dedicated dad! And thanks for the happy day wishes. :)

...well finally another useful Daz+FaD item. Hopefully there will be some decent items on sale in the Artist Stores to use the 40% "owned" discount on.

Imagine my pleased surprise when I discovered that the five OOT hairs I added to my wishlist yesterday were on sale at 72% off today and straight into the cart they went :) and then, before I bought them, I had a look at today's page and saw an OOT hair for both G9 and G8 was today's Daz+ for the day, so that was why. Not one I wanted as I'm not buying SB hairs but I dropped it in the cart anyway, just to see what happened. Oh my! The price dropped from $32 to $24! And then I bought them all! Six hairs for the price of one. With the exchange rate being what it is that gives me six hairs for the price of two. I'm VERY happy :)

  • kyoto kidkyoto kid Posts: 41,847

...had only a couple show up, but very pleased nonetheless. That extra 40% discount for the D+FaD item I bought Yesterday helped immensely. One was even a DO (used my Daz+ DO coupon for it and a couple other DOs I had on the list) .

@Lorraine:  Is that a Matchbox car in your logo?  I used to collect those..

So, if one gets premium membership for a month to try it out, how does that work? Since it's in the middle of the month how does monthly items like free bundle and coupons work? Obviously wouldn't double up due to the month being split, but do you still get character bundle if trying for the month? Also, is it a set char bundle for the month? Are they different generations? The images suggest they are all Gen9. What if you already have that char? Any other information would be appreciated.

Oh, forgot to ask, the software included; morph..., char morph to gen9, pose -> gen9... how has that been working out for people?

    Ty :)

yes, you get a free bundle when you join...they give you right away the coupon for that, $10 off DO items, and $10 off PA and DO if you spend more than $25. There are several bundles to choose from. I think more importantly, you get 1 token for every $5 spent, so they can add up quickly. Buy on Monday and Tuesday and its doubled. pm sent to you.

It's a month from when you start, so if you join mid-month, you get the perks for both months that your membership spans. The free character bundle is from the curated selection on offer, which rotates a bit. If you already have all the characters you're interested in from what's being offered, you pretty much have to just wait and hope the selection changes to include something you want and don't have.

I'm only D+, so others would be better equipped to help with your other questions.

A pretty decent flash sale happening right now. it does stack down to $1.99 minimum.

You can see the current selection of bundles eligibles for the Premier bundle coupon here:

    https://www.daz3d.com/premier-characters

New bundles stays for a couple of weeks (I don't remember how long) after their releases but older bundles can be switched without any notice by Daz.

To date, only Genesis 9 bundles were and are offered and I don't know if Daz is planning on offering older bundles (maybe as part of a sale but I won't count on it).

Regarding starting your membership today, it'll be active until the middle of July (just a warning, depending on where you live, membership can end several hours before the start of new 'Daz day': as an example, in France, Daz day start at 8AM, but my membership always ended around 1 or 2AM) and you will immediatly get access to the current month three coupons, to use before the end of the month. On the 1st of July, you'll get access to the three coupons for July, coupons you'll have to use before your membership ends (so you'll have around 15 days in July to use them).

If you don't already bought it, you'll see the Genesis 9 Starter Essential shapes bundle manually added to your account (if you already bought it, it'll also be considered manually added). Regardless of if you bought it before or not, it's something you'll keep when your membership ends.

Same with the bundles: you'll keep them and anything you bought from the store.

As long as your membership is active, you'll have access to various addons and bonus shapes for the various Genesis 9 Core figures added since Premier was launched (so the first one to have a bonus shape is Vicky 9). But once your membership has ended, you'll lose access to them.

To access them, you'll have to follow this procedure:

(I never did it, so no idea how easy or hard it is).

Whelp, looks like my remaining two tokens will be expiring unused.

Ah well. If the Outlet doesn't refresh, and this sale continues on as it's been, at least there's not long to wait to see if the PA sale is any better.

@Lorraine:  Is that a Matchbox car in your logo?  I used to collect those..

No, it's another British company, Dinky Toys, which pre-dated Matchbox, but sadly closed down in 1979. And it's a tiny Triumph ;)

...indeed.  I picked up the HD Grand Piano when it was first released as I really wanted an acurate.9' concert sized instrument (saved me 120 USD for The Kawai Piano model from Turbosquid and wrangling with Kawai Instruments in Japan for permission to use it in story illustrations as it had an editorial licence)

I've picked up all the orchestral instruments he's released (including the Tuba) as well as the Musical Instrument Cases and PosesRectal HallOrchestral Props & Poses, and White Tie Outfit.  All I need is an Oboe, English Horn, and Bassoon for a full classical orchestra scene.

Oh, and I even have the Cowbell.

I have a lot of his instruments. I wish he'd do recorders and not just the soprano but the larger alto, tenor & bass which look different, mostly due to having some keys. There is a soprano recorder in the store (https://www.daz3d.com/hobby-props-music) but it and the pose, in an add-on, are very inaccurate. (I've been playing recorders for 20 years.)

+1 -- I was all excited that the soprano exised at all, given that instrument's status as the red-headed stepchild most of the time. But that pose... I'm not sure what it was based off of, but it's awful. I would add wanting a sopranino recorder as well.

A tin whistle might be nice, too.

Did you notice that the 2 lowest holes in that recorder are single, not double? I wouldn't be surprised if it lacks the octave hole in back.

I mostly play my tenor recorder because I find the (nearly as big as a clarinet) size & having a few keys more comfortable.

@butterflyfish I want a tenor sax as well. It's what I played in band.

    @WendyLuvsCats and I second bagpipes.

Anybody else wish for the Star Wars cantina band instruments?

It does in fact lack the back octive hole, the holes aren't spaced right (especially that huge gap between the last two!) and the bottom part doesn't twist at all... the lowest hole is right in line with the other ones. One of these days I might kitbash the thing with geometry editor and make it usable, but as it stands, it's only good for shots where you can't actually see most of it.

(EDIT: I just uploaded the render I did with the recorder in it to my gallery... I spent an absurd amount of time trying to get a pose to work and gave up and had her just holding it instead. Maybe she only plays on the bridge/intro/outro on that song? -- Link in sig)

I'm soprano & sopranino mostly; I have small hands, and the alto can be a bit much for me for extended periods. I havent tried a tenor, though I do love the sound when I've heard others play them.

And a +1 to the bagpipes, even though I can't hear them. (We're not going to talk about how many CDs of bagpipe music I own... *whistles innocently*)
