I do appreciate the deer, and I may buy it . . . not sure. I wonder where the forum Synergy has gone? Remember when the forums were full of excited enthusiastic responses for the Mega and Pro bundles and when 4 item bundles were nothing near as special ... just a character with hair an outfit and maybe a prop? Whatever happened to real bundles? Nothing is trying to jump into my cart. Nothing screams OMG BUY ME YOU HAVE TO! I am not a fan of the Lauryn 9 Bundle, which makes the Cervitaur Add-on useless to me. I miss the Mega Bundles. And I miss those Pro Bundles and I really dislike how these current 'Bundles' are marketed/offered. It lacks pizzazz. So for me it is an underwhelming offer even though I have 12 tokens, I think I'll pass. I own DAZ Horse 3 and the toon horse, deer horns/antlers and a truckload of centaurs (7 and 8 and 8.1), and Easy Filatoons. And, I dislike a mega bundle being broken up into multiple small bundles. Shopping here should be simpler, clearer, and more enticing. I get what @daveso finds so discontenting. I can afford the bundles I just don't see the value in them. Why not go back to strater and pro bundles. This feels like mini starter bundles.
I was just now being nostalgic over the same thing, not so much the bundles (they ARE very small these days though, that's quite true) but the forum activity. I guess many people left to do their stuff with AI really, as has been suggested in other threads when the topic came up. I'm glad there still is some interaction, and some people are really so industrious at keeping the forums alive. But I do miss the insane monkey chatter when new figures came out and such, and all the experiments people did and posted about. Ah well. It is what it is.
I believe it's a combination of factors as to why forum activity has been lacking. I participate in the new release threads and they still don't get a lot of activity. Usually only a handful of us even post renders of the new figures.
But the bundle thing is definitely an issue. When they split them up it wasn't a big deal for me but now with us getting 4 products (3 really for the character bundle, the HD Addon is a wasted slot, we should not need to get the HD version with the base figure), it's felt a lot less of a value.
I like Lauryn though, she's definitely designed and suited for fantasy renders (that's my bag, baby) and she translates very well into Filatoon.
I agree that these "mini" bundles we are getting now feel a bit lacking. I disagree that the HD add-on is a wasted slot, though. If I want the base figure, I'll also want the HD add-on. It is a basic complement in my humble opinion.
UPDATE: Maybe the ideal solution would be that they made these core figures HD to start with. That seemed to be something they did in the past with Victoria 9 and other figures.
That's what I was referring to. They should all come with an HD version baseline like they used to. And instead of having the addon as one of the featured items, we could get anything else to fill that slot. That's why I feel that spot is wasted, because since they separated the figures from the HD Addons, it's created an illusion of getting more products than we really are. In this case (and several before it) we're really getting 3 items, not 4.

For me, the HD add-on is also a wasted slot, as I only get these bundles when I go Premier for a month or two and always have to hope to see these bundles filled with some stuff that I can use with G8 figures. Which excludes HD from the start
Yeah it's frustrating. The G9 figures used to come HD baseline. Now it's an obvious cash grab-if G8 were still being released it would be done with them too
Maybe a ton of people like it. I doubt it, but who knows? I see some Lauryn fans here, so it seeded the thought: 'what if I bought her? What can she bring to the table?' Then I thought Monday is double tokens, maybe I should wait until then, but lately Mondays have not been like they used to be. I did want the deer, the deeraur or whatever they called it, and the filament toon stuff so I decided to cart all of the bundles and a few non-pose addons, hoping to get the best discount and prices. Then I thought my +membership expires in 2 weeks and I am not going premier, so maybe I should clear out my wish list a little and give the sale a decent shot. So I threw a bunch of DAZ-spaghetti at the wall and ended up with 57 carted skus that worked for me. I am posting my invoice from today in case curious minds wonder how I got the best value for the bundles etc.
...yeah I remember when a pro bundle included several clothing and hair items, at least one alternate character morph and poses.
I have little use for HD figures as I rarely ever do portraits or close-ups
The best deal for a Pro bundle I ever bought was the Young Teens 5 which featured both Julie and Justin..
For myself, I don't give a toss one way or another about the bundles... the old-style ones were so full of stuff I'd never use that the only reason I ever got one was if it was so absurdly cheap that I'd probably never get just the character at that price, and it was a character I wanted. And the new-style ones aren't any different in that regard, just smaller. I does have a very distinct vibe like the "fun size" candy bars, though. (Though in fairness, seems like folk at Halloween give out a handful of those things to make up for it... at least around here.)
I'm curious to see what June brings. Not particularly hopeful, but... curious.
Yeah the bundles are now fun-sized like the referenced delicious tiny candy bars we often see during Halloween (which is exactly 5 months away from today). I'm surprised we received 3 character bundles (releases in general) this month, when lately the trend has been 2; one release every other week.
And the weekly freebies have been consistently generic, except I've only seen one free Neon Hot Tub thus far. You know how I feel about that hot tub.
The ancient products in this week's actual freebies are more useful & got me more excited than all of the free-with-subscription items that have been released this month. And that's even taking into account that most of them were add-ons or characters I won't use.
We no longer seem to get decent sales on the daz+ item collection. Time was, one could look forward to a monthly promo where we'd see an extra 50% or more off Daz+ items. That was especially advantageous when combined with monthly coupon. Now, I guess we're supposed to have tokens, but my purchase pattern only generates a meaningful supply of tokens once or twice a year. There is a daz+ promo right now, but the steep buy-in for nothing I actually want scrapes the shine right off it.
I got another small pile of outlet store items, and I'm happy with that.

...we'll likely find out on Monday.. I've been refraining form purchasing any Daz+ items in hope of some nice discounts. Usually during a Daz+ event Daz+ New Releases can be used to unlock special deals and deeper discounts.
June is the last "hurrah" for my annual membership as it expires in early July. Not totally on board yet with the new membership pricing structure and have no interest in Premier unless prop and environment bundles are included as the free offer.

Bleh, came to the store hoping they'd start the June sale today when I have a little time, but - no luck. I'm wondering whether it's even still on the agenda? Usually, they'd be starting sales rather early than late these past years ...
IIRC the December sale started on Monday, even though December didn't. I figured this one would be similar. Probably makes more sense to launch something big on a day when people will be in the office to deal with the inevitable issues.
Of course, that assumes today's "Final 24 Hours" is an actual-final and not a Daz-final.
If anyone cares, Daz finally added some more older bundles to the Premier selection, bringing it up to an even dozen. Additions are Wukong, John, Xui Lin, & Ivar.
I think I'm going to reup Premier now, rather than wait & see how how the June sale looks, because I do like the new Centaur & add-on materials, which are $4 with the bundle.
Id wait another day or 2 except I doubt Daz will keep the Centaur deals active a full week if they do start the summer sale tomorrow.
I don't normally buy G9 characters but the Daz+ for a Day gentleman is very tempting, he looks great.

Yes, I'm afraid it looks like that too. Let's wait and see what else comes; sometimes the big sales get better as the month goes on. But the fact that there's only one 'Daz+ for a Day' offer left is disappointing - even more so for me if it's one of Kookie's “weird” (to avoid another vocabulary) bone-crushing blacks.
The doorbuster item has some interesting features, especially customizable two-tone eye colors. But in general it seems like we're basically getting our 'normal' set of club items plus freebies, nothing special.

I also admit, I'm reflex turned off on any guy character whose main promo theme is aggression. If it's in among other stuff to show a character's range, fine, but show a diversity of emotion or I'm out.
The way some parts are phrased, I think we will have one 'Daz+ for a day' item per day, who will stay as such for a couple of days, likely with a price rising after the first day, a bit like Golden Ticket stayed as Golden Ticket for three days.
Yeah, I wondered about that. It seemed too good to be true that "any D+FAD item" would apply to anything that had been an item for the entire month (or however long this gets "surprise" extended for...)
Yeah, not a great start but most of the month-ish long sales take 1-2 weeks to get appealing, & the summer member sale is, IMO, never as good as the fall one.
Thankfully, I am here for the Outlet Store & Centaur 9, not the watered down D+FAD.
But I hope all of us find something cool at a price we like.
The kookie character kinda looks like Tiny Lister, who was a huge dude! Pro wrestler, actor. I like the figure. Looks well done.
