You guys are hilarious. Tell me: I've noticed these kinds of underboob artifacts in promos a lot recently--is G9 breast projection immune to dForce?

Yes, and it drives me up a wall.

Thanks so much, @SilverGirl. One more reason to keep using G9UVs.

See Richard's response above. Just because I'm having trouble with it doesn't mean I understand why it's not working. =P

Yes, and it drives me up a wall.

Projection morphs do not, as far as I am aware, interact with dForce any differently than others - the image looks like a morph applied after any simulation was done, or an outfit that was not responding to simulation in that area.

Ah, apologies on not understanding the reasoning behind why it doesn't work. All I know is I keep winding up with those underbreast issues when I load things in, and dForce doesn't fix it.

It looks like the standard reaction of clothes simulated on a non supported body with breasts differing too much from the base ones, something that will also happens on Genesis 8.

Same thing can happens with the triangular deformation appearing on skirts or dresses around the crotch area.

    Possible solutions:

    • creating a body morph for the clothes with Blender, Hexagon, Zbrush, etc (it seems to also be possible to remove the problem by using lots of iteration with a smoothing modifier, exporting the result as OBJ and importing it back as a body morph, but you'll likely be losing lots of details in non impacted areas).
    • using a simulation timeline starting with the base shape and base pose at f=1, with the final figure shape in base pose at frame 15, the final pose at frame 30 and with 15 frames after that to let the simulation settle.

send to Hexagon and smooth it send back as a morph

As I was very vocal during the previous four stages of fail sale, will say for this one:

Great Sale - my ever growing wishlist smashed down to only a few items (not included). Even bought quite a few items below my usual percentage reduction mark.

One niggle, still not got my head around how the Daz % calculation works (the 20% for 2 new not working out anywhere near 20%), but still it was probably 50/50 on great deals to good deals.

With the assumption that a % off is working correctly (not always the case), each successive % is a % off what's left after the previous ones are applied.

But usually I check the sale issue reporting thread before I start putting a cart together, see if anyone is flagging an issue. If there are too many issues, I'm likely to just give the whole thing a pass.

The easiest way to check if something is working as intended is by placing two new releases in your cart alongside an item that is not discounted at all: the former will have a 44% discount (which is correct) and the later will have a 20% discount (which is also correct).

    Appreciate the responses.

I do test, and attempt the maths, but in the end, if I am comfortable with what the dicount comes out at, I buy.

Strictly speaking, all breast projection is immune to dForce.

Unless you're using unusual modes in dForce that need to be handled awkwardly, dForce starts with the shape as it's projected, and in a lot of cases any stretches and folds will remain decidedly visible in the end result, because dForce has to assume the shape it starts with is a shape the clothing is supposed to be. If there's a stretched out lump, then dForce isn't intelligent enough to know it's not supposed to be there - it just thinks there's too much material there for the shirt to lay properly flat. (A bit like how you can't lay an orange peel flat without tearing it in a lot of places).

Sure, draping things may disguise the issue, but it's not a fix for it.

Ultimately, it comes down to the fact that the problem of algorithmically creating fits is decidedly non-trivial.

Between the Memoral Day sale and the outlet, it almost feels like the sales of yesteryear lately /oldmanvoice

Looks like we could be back to early morning releases again.

...I guess if you put a table and chairs in a sci-fi hallway, it is no longer a sci-fi hallway. It's a meeting room.

Shhh - you are not supposed to say that. It should be a secret.

I hope that the mega flash sale will be up for the whole day. I don't have enough time to build a cart now and I'm seeing wishlisted items at a good price in there.

turn it up for 90° and add a moving "wall" and you get a Sci-Fi Lift  - but watch out before buying, when you really would want to have a ski lift wink

  • Glad others are enjoying the sales. For me right now Daz reminds me of an ancient quip by the late Joan Rivers: "I've got a whole closet full of nothing to wear."

Used to be I would check out the new releases, then the Lightning Deals, then the Fast grabs. At least three different places. Now it's quick look at the new, a (mostly) "yeah, nah", and finished. Sad face.

What blows about this wishlist sale, is that the one thing I had in my wishlist that was part of the sale. I accidently clicked the remove from wishlist button instead of adding to cart button. In doing so a reset the counter so to speak when I added it back to my wishlist. sad

I'm out of store credit again, so I really could have done with a really good gift card sale for Memorial Day. Not that I want to buy all these female clothes flooding in each day.

  • memcneil70memcneil70 Posts: 5,316

I am not sure if this is caused by previous bundles being split and reorganized, but I am finding many bundles where I own everything offered in the wishlist sale. I recommend you double-check the contents before you add them to your cart.

  • frank0314frank0314 Posts: 14,711

Are they G9 Character bundles? If so, I have it as well.

  • memcneil70memcneil70 Posts: 5,316

    Yes.

It's only so helpful to say retrospectively, but a lot of the recent "X% off your cart" sales have *not* excluded gift cards from the discount, making them a respectable way to get a decent saving on store credit.

I wish they would add a "only show wishlist items" to their selection for shop pages.

I will not wade through 600+ pages to find withlist item at 73% off.

A 'solution' is to sort by New Arrival, then look for the first item you have wishlisted. Once you have it, you can now go to your wishlist and check if items after that one are in the sale (there is something like 40000 items in that selection, so there is a fair chance that all non-Daz+ items older than the threshold are included in the sale.

At worse, it would still be faster than looking at the 600+ pages to find something you're interested at that price point.

  • Centaur 9 is very much tempting me to restart Premier *right now,* tonight. I've got a lot of use out of the G3 Centaurs and still use them. I never got the G8 centaurs because they didn't seem to be much of an improvement over the G3 version, especially in the human/equine transition zone. Centaur 9 looks somewhat better, enough I want to upgrade. Plus I like the other bundled items. I don't love that it's still only got 4 items, but at least it's 4 items not "3 items plus an HD morph."

$23 will get me 1 month of Premier, the character bundle & both material add-ons.

Related question: should I bother buying Daz Horse 3 for another $2? I am happy with both Daz Horse 2 & Lo-rez Horse 2 (which includes a full resolution model) & think they look much better than Horse 3. So I would only use it if I picked up add-on animals later.

The only thing I've use Daz 3 Horse is the base for AMs Reindeer and possibly for DAs Deer if I get that.
