Thanks for all the information, Richard.
or the DS 4.23.1.x betas, though I don't think we have official word on whether those will continue in parallel with 2025.
Little bird says yes, at least to a degree, until DS 2025 reaches a General release status.
I found the below in my Product Updates when I went to download new purchases this afternoon from DIM. I have never seen this before for any product.
In my experience, product updates in DIM can appear either because the product actually got updated for some reason or because I previously installed it manually. The readme document for that product does not say anything about the product receiving any recent revisions, though.
What in that screenshot is what you haven't seen before? It looks normal to me.
Look at the blue line at the top of the image. There is a box, a thumbnail, then no name, the i is at an angle, and 0 bytes. I tried clicking the i but there was no readme according to a pop-up. The larger pop-up was what I saw when I moved my mouse over the little thumbnail. I know this product, it has had issues in the past that I am not sure were ever resolved or not. I had an outstanding ticket on it years ago.
Thanks for the explanation. Now I can see what you are referring to.
It's sadly doesn't mean anything: I have a couple of products who were updated through DIM but without any information about what the updates were supposed to fix.
I see, I didnt' know that. :) In the time I've been using DIM for installing/uninstalling products, I've already got several actual product updates, but I don't think I've ever checked the Readme of the updated product with the hope of learning what the update was for. My mindset was like: "Hmm... an update. Updated products are (almost) always better, right? Let's go with it".
Sometimes it's just a metadata update to go along with the recent release version or beta of DS, or it was fixing or adding in metadata.
Yesterday another product showed up, looked okay but failed when I tried to install it. After three tries to install, after installing my new products, I tried refreshing DIM's link to Daz and the 'update' had disappeared. Is something going on with updates? I did updates on another computer and this product and the other one I posted about did not show up as having an update available.
Just a note: as I was getting ready to post, cloudfare kicked in. It has been the longest one in a long time.
DIM itself took an update yesterday. Anyone have any idea what it does? The last recorded update was April 2025.
Only visible change is:

I suppose they meant 'DAZ Studio 2026(6)' instead of the first 'DAZ Studio 2025(6)'
I knew that there was an update to DIM, I ran into yesterday afternoon on my Windows 11. So when it came up this morning on my Mac I wasn't surprised. But, the handshake (or whatever that was) took so long before the update finally started, I actually forgot what was happening. (Reading The Commons can do that while listening to the news.) Thankfully my brain clicked on before I did anything. There are some things that Windows is just easier to do.
You can read and listen to the news at the same time?
