Piggybacking off my Graft fiasco post: understanding new Pose Library/Assets
I don't know if it was a post, so much as me ripping my hair out virtually trying to figure out the issue. Anyhow, it looks like I'm going to have to upgrade from Blender 3.0 to something higher. People keep asking me why I haven't already done so or insinuating that I should. Here's why: I don't like the new Pose Library system insofar as replacing the skeleton with the Library Assets hoobla. It's supposed to make the workflow easier, but I call BS on that one, because I don't understand it at all. It seems overcomplicated. I like 3.0's system where I select the bones, click the plus, and can save different things. Supposedly the new system is basically the same, but now it wants you to take a picture, save it in some asset library in the nether, and you can't erase it if you mess up? If someone could explain it to me in layman's terms or point me to someone who can, I would be grateful. The reason I'm hesitant is because of my system setup with Daz figures. I have a root folder where I keep each one organized by name. Within it, I have a base version of the model. I then have subfolders with copies of those models where they might have different hair or clothing for different situations. I do this because I link models into new projects instead of appending, which saves a lot of space (I also apply all this to environments I've created). So my question is in regards to the Library/Pose Assets with my linked models. Can I create new ones for each individual project, or do they have to be done on the base model file? This is why I like 3.0's Pose Libary system, because I can just copy the rig info under Assets and reuse them in other projects, clearing out whatever poses I don't need. I hope all this makes sense. It's Daz related in a roundabout way, because I can't fix one issue I've been having without addressing another.

For general questions on the pose library and differences wiht the new asset browser you may get better answers at a blender site as https://blenderartists.org. Personally I find the asset browser very convenient and I'm not sure to understand what's your difficulty. You can of course link in the asset browser too.
https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/editors/asset_browser.html
pose mode: pose > create pose asset
object mode: object > asset > mark as asset
To link instead of appending you specify the link method then make overrides.
preferences: file paths > asset libraries > import method > link
object mode: object > library override > make
