@RAMWolff Thank you! That's sweet of you to say!

@SapphireBlue Oh thank you! I do like that set, I'm glad I picked it up. It's not my profile character, it's a mix of Friends Forever and The Girl 6, if I remember correctly. I think I ended up reducing the head size and adding a leg length morph as well.

I'd be happy to share my comic once it's ready. I'm so slow at creating things (you saw how long it took me to test, refine, and finally release the FilaToon product lol). So yeah, I'm excited to share the comic when I'm happy enough with it to release it into the wild. lol :D I am looking forward to being able to share it!

@MoreTN Awesome! Yeah, it's a fun set! And I do hope the recipes help - or perhaps at least give a starting off point for you guys to explore the product and experiment with different looks that can be created. :) You don't have to use the exact recipes I share if you don't want to of course, but I'm hoping it will help you guys find the settings and shader combos that you might enjoy using.

@dsm55 Thank you! I feel free to share your renders here if you want. I'm always curious to see what people do with my products!

I cannot stress how useful this product is.  I used it on my new renders today and it was extremely fast and easy to convert!  I had to change the hair because it was strand based, but that was the only change I made aside from the product.  I didn't originally intend on using it for this render but I made an executive decision.

First try, converting a fantasy character I did a couple years ago. This is the G3M Centaurs plus https://www.daz3d.com/krampus-demon-for-genesis-3-male. His weapon is some random polearm from my runtime. Environment is from https://www.daz3d.com/warrior-couple-and-landscape--genesis-8. I think it turned out fairly well. Since I was using some pre-Iray models, I ran https://www.daz3d.com/rssy-3delight-to-iray-converter* before using Easy Filatoon. I used the Hair shaders on the centaur, clothing , & hair; Environment for the Landscape & weapon. It was quite fun. I will probably do some more work on this one but wanted to show off a "first draft."

By the way, I don't think it took more than 1 minute for Easy Filatoon's magic to work on my vintage G3 centaur.

*Highly recommend this product if you want to use older items.

Thank you for sharing your work with us! And I agree, the speed of Filament rendering is really good! One of my favorite parts of working with Filament and Filatoon is that you can try different settings and see in real time exactly how it's going to look when rendered, which is very cool!

    Hi @3Diva.

    The figure is from:
    https://www.daz3d.com/cartoon-adult-male-character-hair-and-outfit-for-genesis-9
Then I have applied to him CNSRD Toon for Lucas 9 materials.
    https://www.daz3d.com/cnsrd-toon-for-lucas-9
and put some body morphs from my library.

Even though I already have V3D's Filatoon solution, I might have to buy this one too.

I have both and I ain't complaining! I've only used V3D's a couple of times and need to explore it more. But even if you start with that as a way to convert a large scene in one go, Easy FilaToon then makes it easy to add and convert new objects to the scene, cycle through LOTS of presets and variations, quickly change up outline details etc. Argh, need time to do more FilaToons!

Thanks, Artini! Nice dial-spun character! The plus size body looks good on him as it gives him a lot of character.

OH thank you! I did try to include a wide variety of Draw Options and Shader Presets so people could get a wide range of looks. I don't have the V3D product so I don't know if that product has those types of presets or not.

  • Another conversion. Doc Angel is my old Cyberpunk RPG character, an apprentice medtech & ripperdoc. But tonight she's dressed for a Halloween festival. The Iray original started as Millawa 8, with tweaks. Yes, that's a purple Arctek cybernetic arm paired with a Boho Skirt. I still don't think I've quite got the hang of the Filatoon shaders yet, however.

Tomorrow, I think I am going to try some of my other new toys with Filatoon.

  • Been having fun with this. The girls from a LN I have been playing with over the years. Only real adjustments I have usually had to make is with the body. Just wish someone would do a better hair converter. Now I have noticed one thing that is common among those complaining on FB with the product, and I do mean complaining. They all seem to be trying to do American Graphic Novel style art. Yeah if you want that style you are going to have to put in some work.

Working on some more characters. Love how easily they can be converted. Also finding with a couple tweaks some old skydome type products make good backgrounds

  • Yeah Mada put out a nice set of sky domes for filatoon. Points to backgrounds in my post. I haven't tried any of the G8 figures yet. Time has been the issue there.

People are complaining about Easy FilaToon? Where? Could you send me the link here or via PM? I'd like to have the chance to address any issues people might be having with the product.

I'm curious too, all I can find are general complaints about Filatoon in general not being the style the complainer wanted, but nothing about a specific product.

  • Ok. Let me say not any specific complaints about the product. What I am talking about is being able to do something with it. That is not a product problem. Sorry if what I said came across wrong.

Oh! That's a relief! lol :) I am not sure what is meant by "do something with it" - something specific that someone was trying to do? Or just not able to do anything with it? I would love to see what face book page and post you guys are talking about. I don't normally use face book so a link would be appreciated.

As for doing American comic book style, I think that's achievable.

Here are a few different styles that I think could work with a comic.

I think if people play around with the different presets, they can find a large variety of different styles can be made. :)

@SapphireBlue Thank you! :D I do think there are several styles that can be made with Easy FilaToon that can work for comics. I know that styles are subjective and different people have different tastes, so I did try to include a lot of different customization presets so that people can, hopefully, explore and tweak things until they find something they like. :)

@3Diva I'm confused about the Cameras section of Easy FilaToon. Each one loads a Distant Light with it, but Filament can only use one Distant Light. I think the first one loaded is the one used, but I'm not sure about that. The LOAD THIS FIRST already loads a distant light, so I don't understand how the additional 4 cameras with lights are intended to be used. Are we supposed to go to the light loaded by LOAD THIS FIRST and turn that off and then load one of the cameras? If we load a second camera, we are supposed to delete the previous one and its light??? What is the difference between these camera and light pairs?
