Well, I for one am happy with the changes, having tried to play the Rev-up game and missed out on items because I mis-judged the timing, then totally ended up ignoring it...
So today I found three items I wanted, but because I was at work ( 2nd shift), I didn't buy right away, and left them in the cart. I get home, and am all set to buy, when I see 1 of the items at full price... I refresh a couple times, hoping it was just a login glitch, however, the other 2 items also go off sale... Really?! I finally find items in the sale I want, just to miss out by Seconds?!
Oh Well, Que Sera, Sera. I'm sure they'll cycle around again at somepoint, even if not for this event.
Have I got my timing wrong, or has the 3DUniverse PA been pulled from the Featured Artists a day early? And I was just about to add some toons too...
What items?
Is there a reason the private messages from Daz pertaining to sales are expiring from my message box? I noticed the one for my Michael 7 discount vanished a few days ago and now the one stating my discount on the rest of the rev sale is gone. I thought these site message would stay until I deleted them myself...now I have nothing to go back on to show if there is an issue with my discount on the rev sale items or when Michael 7 arrives.
This! + me
I had earned 4 rev-ups. I have no such message. Please advise.
(I cannot use the language I would like to use in regard to this for fear of a ban.)
Have you tested to see if you are getting the 64% discount?
Checking my notes, some of the items from Monday (these last 3 days, so yesterday would be the last day) were All Hand Poses, Zahara Hair, Nuru Hair. Also, I think DG Up Close. If any of those were your selections, they expired. After today, the sunglasses, pajamas, sheer class, sensual grace, destroyed mall, and no suit will expire (and there may be others)
Did they ever get the Nuru Hair price lowered? If not, they need to do a redo for a half day or day on that one. At 11:30pm it still wasn't fixed, and that was over four hours, going on five. Then it went off sale.
That would be great, except by that reckoning the Stonemason and 3DUniverse stores have now dropped out early.
Two days early, I think.
Yeah, I just managed to hit it just as the sales were updating... Actually the items I was looking at were Backcatalog stuff, and the artists went off sale... It's no real biggie, as I only would have gotten th base 60%, I know they will be back again at some point, and truthfully, it is just as well, I can wait a little longer...
I still have not seen a banner and I had 4 revs. And is sounds like the new Full Throttle info went up benfore the banners did for those that did see them. If people feel screwed it's because you failed to communicate to them why they should not in a timely manner.
Actually the banners went up pretty early on, pretty much as soon as the rolling banner actually became usable. It was just that people didn't realise that they were there. As soon as it was pointed out that there were message banners it killed the original complaints. We had to merge 3 threads because people were just not looking, simply posting to ask what was happening.
What happened to the banners? Is there still the extra discount?
bought early
got shafted
learned lesson
avoid tiered sales here.
I am over it.
Well, I am seeing discount of 64% against some items, not others. However, my gripe was more about pointing people to read messages that not everyone has got.
Actually, I no longer have any idea which items should attract what level of discount. I was struggling when the rev-up discount was in place; now they've been 're-vamped' I'm completely lost. If only the shopping cart would show the discount on each item and why it's been given. The system 'knows' this information - it has to in order to calculate the discount. Sharing the information with the customer seems to me the natural thing to do. It does to an extent with the Platinum Club discount, but not on individual items, just the basket as a whole. I really don't feel I should have to fire up a spreadsheet and polish my mathematics skills to buy a few items in the store and be sure the price is correct.
If you are getting the 64%, you are at the max (if you had 4 rev ups), and it applies on any of the products listed on the Festival page. I am also at 64%. I added products from Featured, Still New Featured and items from the Featured Artists' Catalogs and each came up as 64% off in the basket, so I'm not sure what is unclear.
As noted in replies to some of your other posts, if you had Revs you should still be enjoying the higher of the new discounts and your Rev discounts. Perhaps if you explained your problem it would be possible to address it.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Rev Up promo was a failure. I can't imagine anyone buying a new item every single day. The new deal seems much better!
I think they realized it was very hard on some people to buy everyday, for a variety of reasons. Trying to keep track of what they wanted and doing spreadsheets to calculate what to buy what day was hard. I'm glad people got what they wanted on the buy 1-2-3 and the products are available 3 days- great setup, and those of us with 4 REVS were rewarded for spending daily. (And no, it wasn't hard- great variety of products! But keeping that up for more than a week, not practical.)
Back when the sale was set up so that one purchase affected the price of others, the no-refunds policy was understandable (though not acceptable). Now that the sale no longer works that way, what possible reason (beyond laziness) could there be for continuing to dishonor their usual terms of sale?
Is there a limit to one purchace per day? I bought 3 items earlier, and when I went to buy some more now, the discounts seem to be gone.
If you had revs when the new set up went into play, you should still have the discount you earned as the initial discount. There is an in-system message for those with rev-ups (top of the page) that should tell you how many rev-ups and what that discount is:
(1 rev up) 46/50/60%
(2 rev ups) 52/60%
(3 rev ups) 58/60%
(4 rev ups) 64%
This means if you had one rev up, the first item you buy is 46% off, two would be 50% and three would be 60%. Two rev-ups, you have 52% off one item or 60% off multiple items. Three is 58% and 60% off multiple items and 4 rev-ups, you're at the max discount of 64% for any item. The applicable items are on the PA Festival page in the Featured, Still Featured and items in the Featured Artists stores.
The displayed discounts seem to be completely and utterly borked (again), but they still show if you put something into your cart.
Yes, I just checked. For me most of the displayed discounts look right, but more importantly they are the right discount for my level, when in the basket.
... and they're back again. Any bets on how long they'll stay showing this time before something else goes worng...?
They may also have run into technical problems - remember what happened to the Rev Ups last weekend. Maybe they just decided that it was too complex for both their customers and their software :D
Anyway I was getting ready to spit sour bile at my screen when I first read that they changed the sale again. Until I realized that they were not going to penalize us. I'm not sure if this is a fair solution for everyone (no irony, I'm really just not mentally equipped to run all the numbers ^^), but for me personally - yeah, I think that will work out just fine. Thanks, DAZ. I actually might just enjoy the rest of this sale.
In recent months, I had this feeling that DAZ lost their ability to reconsider their decisions. It's good to see that they still do that on occasion. It's a strengh not a weakness.
Thank you Hanabi! That was exactly what I was trying to say!
Either I am NOT seeing the correct 52% discount that i should be getting, or my math is completely wrong. I rather think it was the former.
So off to put in a support ticket :sigh: and see WHY i am NOT seeing the correct 52% discount.
their current shop all section seems really off, only like 200 items but indivudual qualifying PA stores have that many items...shop all needs to be updated to make it easier for me. I dont like clicking on 16 stores.
