I was pissed. Now I'm just confused.
I just got it now. AFTER I bought a REV-up item THIS morning, from a REV-Up promotion that went up at midnight. Moreover, what the notice DOESN'T say is how long the discount is going to stay active, or if the Full Throttle release will decline on a day to day basis. Information marketing people, we need information.
any revs you had at the time of the change, will remain for the entire sale and you should have a message with what you have earned. Overall I think people should be way better off now.
No one got screwed in the restructure. If you earned Rev Ups, you're still getting the discount you earned. Everyone who had Rev Ups should see a message when they log in. Instead of saving 40%/50%/60%, people save:
(1 rev up) 46/50/60%
(2 rev ups) 52/60%
(3 rev ups) 58/60%
(4 rev us) 64%
So, you're still getting the savings you earned, but now your Rev Ups you earned don't expire, and you don't have to buy every day to save large amounts. Not sure why you feel screwed by that.
I got this
As our thanks for participating in the REV-UP portion of the Premier Artist Festival, we want to give you a special boost in the Full Throttle portion of this sale. Instead of getting one item at 40% off, two at 50% off, and 3 or more at 60% off, you will be able to get:
question will this carry onto the second half of the festival or will there be a different sales setup for the second half of the PAF
So, I've moved from PISSED to CONFUSED. This should have been covered in more than a small notice at the top of the page.
DAZ_Steve: BTW: Thanks for the update, and taking the time to explain it. Still, a little pre-warning would have been nice.
As it affected various people differently, we felt that explaining all of the details, rather than those relevant to the person, would be more confusing. that was the reason for the personalized mesages.
See this post
Actually, the notice DOESN'T say that the percentage discount will continue, nor how long the Full Throttle portion of the sale will last. If what you say is correct, that's fine, but that still doesn't explain why items went up for a REV sale this morning with the old verbiage, only to have the whole thing pulled a few hours later. That's why I (and probably many others) assumed it was some kind of site fubu.
so that means I start with an extra bonus bonus once the second half starts nice already know one product that's coming out been waiting for
DAZ_Steve has explained in the other 2 threads that have been started. This is what happens when people start new threads on the same subject, rather than checking to see if there is already one started. Now we have information in different threads.
Don't worry, Steve, you will ALWAYS confuse some of us...especially before we have our coffee.
And I know, you were just itching to use the shiny, new expanded messaging features...
How long will the Full-Throttle sale last?
Noooo I knew I should've brought a product yesterday ;) Oh well!
edit: By the way, the discounts -- if you have REVs rolled over -- are exactly the same cumulative discount as before if you had REVs on your account.
For example, if you had 3 REVs rolled over: 0.6 x 0.7 = 0.42 or 58% discount for one item.
Keep in mind that this sale even with max revs (64%) isn't even the best sale that DAZ has put out in the past. That's roughly a few dollars saved versus 58%. Would there be better sales in the future? Probably, especially with March Madness. But it's a matter of juggling the availablity of certain PAs that never go on sale, immediacy of certain items, and price.
DAZ_Steve , How long will the Full-Throttle Sale run?
And "Rev-Up" points are no longer active, right?
We don't need to earn new ones?
See DAZ_Steves post, which I have quoted once already
Same here... I thought I'd wait to see what there was today.... and I waited too long... my bad.
everyone's fast off the mark Chohole probably posting at same time so I'm reading the same thing basicly on several threads maybe combine the threads
Yes we are thinking of doing that
No new ones, existing ones don't expire.
Threads merged, so the convo is now all in one place.
Some constructive feedback for the new PA Sale setup: Extend the number of days that a new item stays on the Still New Featured list. The new sale is cleaner, *but* the biggest problem is to find 3+ items to take advantage of the maximum discount. Extending the number of days makes it more likely that a given person will buy more products, I would think.
Hmm, when the banners all disappeared, I panicked, and quickly made all my purchases for today. 3 items. At 40% off. Minutes after this purchase, the new rules came out, saying 3 items would be 60% off. I know I purchased before the new rules came out, but do you think it's possible they would count that purchase as being made just a few minutes later? :)))) I already sent in a support ticket, asking if this was possible. I'd just like to know what my odds are. :) What do you think?
Oh well done Daz! This is fantastic news- Time to go shopping.
convos also confused now... steve will still be confused
Greetings,
I woke up to that message, and ran the numbers in my head and was a little sad; I liked the discount I had been getting...until I saw the toast message at the top of the screen, clicked it and was happy again!
Thank you, DAZ folks! It was an interesting mechanic (and I've learned something useful from it) but the flat step-up discount is probably WAY easier to implement and understand. :)

Well... that's annoying. I had 1 rev up yesterday. I wanted the armor, but figured I'd buy the PC + poses so I could buy the Armor tomorrow and then still have 20% in the Rev Ups for the weekend, when I'll have a little bit of money again.
Except now I can't do that and I don't have enough to get the armor before it goes off the "still featured" section. (and that's with my bonus from the site message)
Sigh.
Just to clarify, as I've seen several conflicting statements above.
Is the Full Throttle sale running to the end of the month? Or is there a third promotion replacing it? Given that I was promised 6 days on the items I purchased this morning, I would assume that Full Throttle has to last at least that long. That would take us to the 15th, when there's traditionally been a catch up sale. (And will the FT discount cross over into that, or can we assume that ONLY the vendors who go on sale between now and then are going to be covered.
Finally, I can't find any indication anywhere as to how long items will stay eligible for the FT discount. On Rev the rotation was made perfectly clear, but on FT there doesn't seem to be any notice as to what the actual terms of expiration for the Still Featured and PA Catalog Sales are. Are we looking at 3 days, four days, 1 day, life of FT sale?
Actually this seems like a great improvement. It makes a more straight forward sale and I get to keep my Rev-Up discount (64% for 4 Rev-Ups) for the entire sale and don't have to worry about buying anymore Rev-Up point items that I may only marginally want..
Thanks DAZ,
Charlie
