@Subtropic_Pixel:  Mostly it's when you have dropped unusable stuff from the list and you have poses for it you want to drop those too, but othewise Poses are accepted, but it's really up to everyone, and welcome to the madness!

    And, Karibou....

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!  We're all really happy for you, and we wish you a lifetime of happiness.

    Thank you!  laugh

I second Ken's comment, the RRRR might be a good stress relief. And for weddings, the story is that a guy made a bet on his Stag Nite with his pals, they would pay him $50 for every second he would be silenrt after the priest asked "xxx yyy do you.......?" he was silent for almost four minutes, and the church was really tense, but he skinned his pals bare of money and then gave it all to his wife.

  • I like this idea.  This has really been a very stupid summer.  On the verge of being super-stupid, even.

So I am reviewing, updating, and cleaning up my spreadsheet and I have a question.  Currenlty, I have any product with "pose" or "poses" in the title excluded from selection.  But I noticed one or two entries above with poses.  Is there a generally accepted feeling that poses products should be eligible for selection, or is that "up to the artist"?  Thanks!

I've always regarded pose sets to be fair game for selection.  The down-side is that they're a real beast to incorporate into the scene, without making them completely unrecognizable.

Adds a bit to the challenge, though.

  • Thank you Totte and Ken for your input.

I think for now I will continue to exclude poses, but eventually may reconsider my decision and add them one day in the future.  I just think that the complexity added would be too frustrating for me (for example, how many is "enough" if one of I13's kits of 512 poses gets selected?  I've also excluded expressions, and for the same reason.

I've gone so far as to do a "pull" for a few prior RRRR's, but never was able to complete a work by the due-date.  Time, commitments, etc.  Maybe this month will be different.  smiley

For Poses and Expressions, I say one is enough as they are not "bundles", same with texture sets, you dont need to use all 128 colors of Frappe-hair,just one.

    The Huckster and the Yokel

"Golly, I guess yer right Mr. Humbug. The tires ain't much use without spare rims."  Spaceman Cletus would later go on to trade his grav-car for magic beans.

    Automotive Supplies

    Cicada

    Skyrider Colors

    Speedlights Outdoor Light Set 1

I was not sure how to use the Speedlights, but it came with a DOF camera and I figured out how to set that right - took a while to figure out how to make the Focal Distance and F/Stop appear on the screen (look at it thru a different camera). Once I did that setting the camera was easy - I wen thru a number of totally out of focus renders. I'm pretty sure the Speedlights worked since it did render really fast - rendered in 3Delight - Iray gave me a black screen. I used Cloud City for the setting, the Tophat is from Lets Put On A Show, cigar is from Steam Cowboys

Again, any comment is welcome, especially how to use Speedlights properly.

That's brilliant!!!  I can totally see his mom getting wind of it, though, and doubling his winnings if he DIDN'T stall for 4 minutes.  She's very... Mom-Zilla.  smiley

Ok, I must render.  I'm soooooo unmotivated.

This looks like immense fun, I've no idea how to go about sorting out the randomisation spread sheet part first though! I'll read through the opening post a few times and see if I can "get it" rather than blinking blankly at the screen! So many fun renders!!

Hello KA1 and welcome to the madness ;-)

The easiest way is to select all your products in DIM rightclick and export as .csv, then you can open it in a spreadsheet or texteditor and remove stuff that yo don't want, like software etc.

Thanks, Jim, MelanieL (thanks for Buffalo Bill suggestion too), Gopherus, Totte.
Jim #1 Great YouTube video! I love the poses.
Joe Webb #1 Nice one, funny with good action and expressions. Only problem for me is the cicada wing membranes are completely transparent and I didn't see them at first.
Sasje #01 Haha, I love it! Very simple but effective, and so pretty!
Totte #1 LOL, this is the perfect theme for you and Ken! This one is so Totte! A definite inspiration.
Karibou - Congrats to you and your fortunate husband-to-be!
Joe Webb #2 Another nice one - unique composition. I got the Speedlights as a freebie and didn't like them, so deleted them from my runtime. So I'm no help with that.
Linwelly #1 Nice one! I love underwater renders but have never done one. Mec4D's hair is great.

    Her is my pull #3:
    Timeless Reflections
    Streets
    ShoXoloR for Vidal Braids
    Old West Saloon
    Andrei for F5(LB)
    Never Square (LB)
    Genesis 3 Female Head Morphs(LB)
    Explorers Den(LB)

Four environments!!!! I had five but one was broken (Dark Anvil's Old Street Scene), so I pulled again. Aggghhhh!

@linwelly #1  love the color and poses... making me think of weekend at bernies 2 only with much better underwater photography

@barbult @1  impending disaster! even william tell jr had the sense to put the apple on his head or a shoulder. and baiting his sister!  i double dog dare you... good one!!

@totte #2  chainsaw juggling! definitely a prescription for unintended consequences.  well done!

@joe webb  my first thought was another spoof of marcel duchamp... nerd descending a staircase... perhaps riding the simulatior or an over the shoulder view or a video game console... but this is what i ended up with
