Here a little Render for the Weekend
Some new render...
a remake of an scene from 2014, 1st is 3Delight, 2nd is iRay.
That's a wonderful morph on the male in your render there Zi!
it's a digital clone of Me.
Love it!
Thanks!, a close up from another remake scene.
Yea, really really good work there. Good skin too.... nice stubble. You do that or what skin is that? Genesis 2 male?
he is M4!, with default textures, the SSS skin shader is my own, my SSS shaders it is a freebie on the forum freebies actually.
Cool!
Indoor Scene, Sun Light Only, still a lot for improvement.
No environment/HDR? Just the "sun"?
What's outside the window?
The Sky. It is a "Sun/Sky" system. :)
the standard light dome that is part of the Sun/Sky
it´s the auto generated-Sky, i think, the mode is Sun-Sky but no hdr is allocated on purpose, and environment is 0.010 in value.
I have to start playing with the "sun" now.
Whew! Took three days, but finally got it rendered (total render time, 34 hours straight):

(Definitely zoom in, I think the bubbles look amazing)
..I've primarily used the Sun/Sky setting, however all you get is a clear sky with no other detail. Usually I end up using photo plane backdrops as you cannot turn shadowcasting off in Iray so skydomes are pretty useless.
Lit using only the sun/sky light. I still have a lot to learn about lighting for Iray. It feels very different to lighting for other unbiased engines like Luxrender, if only because I'm having to learn all of the new settings. The scene includes Victoria 7, the G3F version of Skyler and Stonemason's awesome 'The Pool' set. It has some gorgeous Iray shaders included and is a lot bigger than this render makes it seem.
If anyone wants to make some Iray shaders for existing male figures, I'd love to get my hands on them. Until then, it's all girls since they're the only ones I have decent materials for.
such a cutie, Fortunately there is also a G2 version
One thing I did notice while experimenting, is that an HDRI with a photometric distant light does tend to create a better ambient-shadow balance. Using just the Sun/Sky, any areas in shadow tend to be darker than when an HDRI is used. Of course the Distant light is not as "physically correct" as the Iray Sun, however with just the Sun/Sky, you are then limited to a clear blue sky.
Interesting that LuxRender can use its"Sun" along with an HDRI without the dome blocking the sun out or casting a shadow of its own.
Well, the reason of that could be:
Clouds are not a part of the sky in terms of being forcefully needed for ilumination, maybe iRay warranties a clear sky like a canvas for future volumetric iRay clouds scripts or products.
even Maxwell Render does not give clouds on a clear sky and believe me, MR creates a very super blue sky, almost fake!! and we are talking about a Pro Render!
on the part of LuxRender, they're different in ways to rendering, for illumination with clouds, real clouds in 3D, I would choose Vue.
just my perspective about why iRay Sun/Sky is not Sun/Sky/Cloud system.
...ahh but Vue is also expensive (to really get what you need to do a full scene without watermarks or render sizing restrictions) and like Bryce, it does not support posing of characters within the scene.
DimensionTheory provided the full set of skies in Skies of Economy as HDRIs for use with Reality/Lux which worked with the Reality/Lux sunlight.
I would love to see something like an update of SoE and Cloud9 for Iray as "sky only" HDRI's are pretty much all you need when using scenery sets.
Surprised that Dreamlight hasn't produced a set yet considering the Iray lessons and tutorials that are available.
I posted some tricks on the Tips and Tricks for iRay thread, take a look, it covers some tricks for Sun.
This took about 3 hours to render. But I blame that at setting the Lighting Resolution to 1000, the Quality threshold to 2, and maxing out both the maximum time and passes.
I used a lot of my new toys in this one... AtmoCam for Iray (excellent!), Genesis 2 to Genesis 3 Pose Converter (to convert a couple of I13 pose sets), Opus Magnum, Power Pixie, Victoria 7 Pro Bundle, Real Lights for DAZ Studio Iray...
A larger version is in my gallery.
Just a very simple one because I wanted to go back and play with Painter's Lights some more. This is G2F Greta with base iRay shaders over default G2F texture. Base iRay on Autumn Rain except for buttons and boot soles where I applied specific iRay shaders.
Sometimes simple is nice as the render time on my old i5 was only ten minutes.
retextured container from the Vanguard...
Very big detour to get to this point... :(
Deltabase with the AtmoCam...
Chapter break for my comic. It's... not the most exciting thing ever, but hey.

I am really liking Iray. This is a quick test render for Olympia. The standard G2F Iray Uber shader on the skin, OOTs hiar shader, and the uber shader on the clothes. FWArt's Iray light set that is included with Adaline G3F.
Looks really good. 1125x750 and renders in less than a minute with my GTX780.
having fun rendering 3 WIP's and trying to finish further until sunday.
1- Daz Studio Academy?, why not!
2- a Videogame Fighter scene, still a lot of people needed for that, maybe some belly dancers and a king Pig on a throne on the background...
3-My wife on the most recent vacations trip in Monaco...now she is upset because she does not have so much...talent.
