That was a set of teeth morphs that are no longer available. I just updated to remove those...forgot they were even in there. I'm not getting a DupID error on my machine...so, not much I can do about that one.

But, back to the topic at hand. V7...

As far as I can tell, she's the best yet...

complete brain fart, that dupID was from a figure purchased somewhere that never worked, and broke G1F/M. It happens every time I load genesis now. And your file did just that, load genesis. Now I get to rack my brain on whom that was I need to somehow remove (it was not from Daz3D threw DIM, that just makes uninstalling it more fun).

P.S. I love the chalk boards and 'Accessories'. no problems there.

Maybe *you* get a new phone every year, but some of us..... :-)

Mine is 8 years old and it's only the second one, only bought it because the first one died.... :)

After having used Victoria 7 for bit now, improvements are vast and huge, It is a step, a big step in the right direction, definitely big improvements in key areas, that really make a difference

Much more fun and interesting to pose and use as well.

I am really thankful for G3F and Victoria 7 and she is pretty close to what I have wished for a long long time, she really is that good!

DAZ you did an amazing job here :)

It is pretty clear DAZ takes great pride in the quality of their products and that really, really shows this time around :)

I am extremely happy with Victoria 7, I am really really excited about the future :)

Looking forward and more great stuff in the store :)

    Thanks DAZ! You are awesome.

I totally agree. I admittedly wanted to dislike her. I'm not done with Genesis! I'm not done with Genesis 2! I can't afford starting over!

But as soon as I played with genesis 3 base... (I wish she came with a better starting texture, btw) It just blew my expectations out of the water. She really, really is incredible. I couldn't fight it.... I had to give up a few g2f things i really wanted (may buy them again someday, sigh) but i really couldn't wait to play with V7 and I have no regrets!!

Honestly I always thought of gen2 as more of a gen1.5. that's probably why I was less aghast at the switch to a new generation. I mean, the technology in them was pretty much identical, which is why stuff transferred so well. I think Daz has even as much as said that the reason for gen2 was that content creators hated the unisex base with the fire of the sun. (speaking as someone who tried to model some female clothing on gen1 I agree here it was painful) but other than that, pretty much the same. If you think of gen 1 and 2 like that, suddenly the update schedule seems positively slow

Genesis1 has something that nothing else has...it is absolutely the best thing since slice bread for making creatures....

    http://www.sharecg.com/v/65792/view/21/DAZ-Studio/Ed

have you not seen the fantastic animal characters from Philosopher's egg? Horse, Gryphon, pig, lizard, rabbit, badger, deer, elephant, giraffe, mouse, panda, brown bear, polar bear, frog... can't remember all of them... oh and lion. Most are for V4, M4, and K4. I've converted some to genesis, with limited success (there's always a huge bump in the back of the head, i don't know why). I absolutely adore them. If i could have them all for genesis I'd think I died and went to the afterland! I love them to bits. I just hate generation 4 UV mapping, which is why I wish i could convert perfectly to genesis. Others have made some good animal morphs for genesis figures but none quite as good as the philospher's egg characters for V4/M4/K4. *wistful sigh* And i'd pay for them all over again if he made them again for genesis or genesis 2 or genesis 3.... i would i would i would, they are that good!

A bit off topic but I totally love my anthro animal portraits. I hope there will be some for Genesis 3. There were several for genesis, which was awesome- it seemed to be the go-to generation for animals and strange shapes. And it didn't have to be made again for different figures (male, child, female). And I hate having to choose between whether to buy male or female version when I really want both but can't. But I would pay for good anthro/fantasy characters for genesis ( i think i have nearly everyone that i can find, from RawArt and JoeQuick and DarioFish... tho i mostly prefer more 'realistic' type like from Philosopher egg.

Vendors please take note.... WILL BUY IF YOU MAKE THEM. Thanks. ;)

For how long do you guys think V7 will be at 30% off? I always forget to keep track on how long the discount on new figures lasts.

Will we see 3delight specific designed skins? I am not on the Iray bandwagon, and v7 base skin seems more optimized for Iray, which I don't use.

There is a a 3Delight optimized shader set included with Victoria 7.

Yeah, it doesn't look very optimized sadly. The 3delight skin as mentioned earlier, doesn't look that great by default on V7.

Gazing into my crystal ball...at least for a while...probably one or two generations. But, if they do change, it shouldn't be something so radical, unless it's to something that doesn't rely on UV mapping at all.

    You mean PTEX? 1

It's probably the AoA shader, it's what is used on the G3F base. It's a bit long in the tooth now and it seems almost like a fire and forget one to make it seem like 3Delight is still being catered for. We really need a brand new one.

    CHEERS!

No clone yet, but, fit the Genesis clothes to Genesis2, save them and they'll then autofit to Genesis3.

The skin is too dark. Clearly looks better instantly when used in Iray with no fuss at all.. In 3delight it looks bad. you need to spend lots of time tweaking to get good results.

I'm used to better base skins, and have seen better made by PA's. So I know it is possible.

Actually, would like to see some 3delgiht only optimized skin packs. I'm sure there will be Iray only textures in the future for characters as people decide to only support one or the other.

AutoFit to Genesis 2 Female, File>Save as>Support Assets>Figure/Prop Asset, AutoFit that to G3F.

I agree. If a PA put as much work into a new 3Delight skin shader as they clearly have Iray then we'd have something to work with. It's always seemed odd to me that you get the AoA shader bundled with DS, but you have to buy the lights. With Omnifreaker's stuff, apart from UberSurface2, you got all you wanted bundled in with DS.

We'll just have to wait and see what transpires...

I've just finished setting V7 up with Gen2 clothing, hair and now looking for some vampire teeth. I don't see any in the head morph package and I did check 'show hidden properties'. I'm wondering if I am looking in the wrong place. If not, I would sure love some fangs for her. If anyone knows of some elsewhere, please give me a heads up. Thank you! She is beautiful. Im happy with her.

Nothing odd about it really. Sometimes PA sell things to DAZ and sometimes not. Omnifreaker's stuff was not all always bundled with Studio and has been bought out over time to be included.

Does anybody have an ETA on Aiko 7 or any other toon-style morph set?

I work exclusively with Aiko-based characters, and the enthusiasm shown here in this thread is really getting me psyched, but if i can't stick to my personal style... T_T

Stylised cartoon figures are generally a few releases away. It took a while for G2 to get to Girl 6, if memory serves right.

There are a few for sharp teeth and canines in Sickleyield's new morph set: http://www.daz3d.com/fantastical-features-for-genesis-3-female-s
I'm sure more stuff will come along. Maybe there will be a Genesis 3 version of Dental Plan, but this is the only thing I'm currently aware of.

Well,I finally broke down and pulled the trigger:(Spent about 2 bills, got pro bundle all the morphs pose converter ect...Ive been using V7 for a couple of hours and I have to say the jury is still out.I almost think G2F has more detail(especially in lower body)All the while I was playing with morph settings I keep feeling I was working with Genesis 1,the figure did not seem as gender specific as G2F.I was also kinda disappointed with the limited number of included morphs(especially lower body morphs)in both the pro bundle and morph packages.Maybe its because I'm used to working with G2F with all available morp packages. The G2 to G3 pose converter was a mistake:((I converted one set of g2f poses and although passable the poses are still off in my opinion.I know there is a learning curve to using any new figure and most of my issues with Genesis 3 are probably operator error but I think the release of this might of been rushed. When going through "Smart content' in the pose tab I could not find a Zero pose for G3 body just facial expressions which is kinda hard to believe.I don't regret buy Her (what the hell) but I hope I am not disappointed with this figure in the long run:)

Also the auto-fit is a non-issue for me as it removes useability of hair and clothes by removing morphs

It doesn't remove them, it hides them.

Zero Pose, has always been in the Menu. The others were optional or add-on from products I think. I know I got a few zero-pose presets from other products for G2F, some for shoes and stuff.

Good Q about the Specific area zero. Making Screen-caps now.
    (EDIT)
Also, you can hold the CTRL key as you click bones in the scene tab, to select individual bones to zero out.
Then, you can save you own, localized "Pose Presets".

Auto fit for the Bruno Bear morph was an issue. I just loaded up the shorts and they fit just fine to the morph. When I started up the program to continue working on fixing the hand joints for the morph (they looked... bad when he made a fist but no more, nice thick fists now) the shorts were no longer being pushed out to the shape. Smoothing was on and all that but for some reason just wasn't working. I tried the Transfer Utility selecting the option of Morph and selecting the Bruno-MuscleBear-02 morph and tried to have the morph transferred into the shorts proper but that didn't even work (or maybe I did it wrong, my health is a mess right now so my brain works just some times correctly! LOL) So not sure what's going on. Perhaps it's some new thing with the new figure...

I agree with SereneNight. The DAZ Genesis 2 skins are wonderful - Monique and Belle being my faves. But Victoria 7's 3delight skin...yeah, not so much. Definitely lesser in quality than the Genesis 2.
