In DS, go to Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager, expand the "DAZ Studio Formats" and "Poser Formats", and post a screenshot.

There is something wrong with the way V7 and/or Genesis 3 is installed, or you don't have the correct paths listed inside DS.

Go to Edit Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager, and make sure that C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library is listed as both DS and Poser Formats in there.

Your icon has an exclamation mark on it, which means that there are duplicate entries in the db I think, so try loading V7 from the Content Library (NOT Smart Content) Go to DAZ Studio Formats > My DAZ 3D Library > People > Genesis 3 Female, and I think V7 should be in Characters. If not, try loading G3F anyway to see if it works correctly

Plunked down the money for Victoria 7, plus a few characters.
All are loading with eyes that are white, and are rendering that way.
Look like I am off to a bad start.
    Anyone else with this problem?
    Thank you

Thank you for trying to help! :)I have a sneaking suspicion, DIM put the data in the CMS thing (for the smart tab), and the stuff ended up installed in the wrong folders for the actual G3F figure. Do the DIM install paths match the Daz Studio ones? You have Poser from the looks of it, so my guess ends at that thought.

No, they do not match..Daz Studio path says C:/Users/Chris/Documents/DAZ3D/Studio.My Library and the DIM path says C:/Users/Public/Documents/My Daz3D Library
Should I make the Daz Studio path the same as the DIM?
    Thank You!

You need to add "C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library" to BOTH "DAZ Studio Formats" and "Poser Formats".

Note that the Smart Content is not a view of your installed content files. It's a filtered and sorted view of a database of pointers to your content. Just because something has a database entry, it doesn't mean the content files actually exist where D|S is looking for them — the database entries are not the content files.

Purchased and installed V7 right after release and have been playing with her for a few days now. I just wondered if anyone else has been having problems while clicking on her to select joints while posing? It seems to me that there is an issue with the bounding box?? (selection area you click on when choosing a joint) for some of the joints.

I can click on the collar without any problem but when I go to select say the shoulder bend or shoulder twist I can click all over the area and it just won't select it. If there is another character or object in the background it will often select it instead. It works okay when using the joint tool or if I select the joint from the scene list just not when clicking on it.

Some of the extra bones are hidden and unselectable by default. In the Scene pane options menu (rectangle with horizontal lines in the upper corner) choose "Show Hidden" and you can make them selectable.

I'd prefer quality over quantity. Its sad that you have to go outside this store to find really distinctive looking characters and textures for Daz's own models. Syyd over at runtimedna is producing some of the best textures and morphs and they're for V4!

I've got the "girl-next-door/pinup/fairy" pretty much nailed down.

PA's not providing genital textures is frustrating, it should be specified in the product description.

Syyd's already got a morph pack out for G3F. Actually it's a combined product of face morphs for G2F as well as G3F.

I'm suddenly wondering whether the adoption of what apparently are wider-used standards in G3 isn't going to pay dividends in seeing content vendors decide to take the plunge.

Remember, Genesis 1 shipped with a new, award-winning rigging system, but a wide range of the vendor artists wouldn't touch it with a 10-foot pole. They only gingerly started developing for Genesis once G2 had shipped. And then they developed for G2. And it's gaining traction.

Saw Syyd's G3 morphs, they look good. I do hope content creators embrace G3 and push it to its absolute limit.

Before I take the leap I'd like to know if G3 skin textures will be compatible with future generations or are we gonna be left in the lurch again.

Gazing into my crystal ball...at least for a while...probably one or two generations. But, if they do change, it shouldn't be something so radical, unless it's to something that doesn't rely on UV mapping at all.

Thanks. Out of interest, does your crystal ball tell you how long a daz generation lasts? :-/

Second Q, is it for Studio in DUF format, or is in Poser stuff that needs to be converted to work in studio? I looked around about a year ago, and kind of never went back to DNA. I do have a cool Microraptor from the other 'R', nice bird with teeth.

I'm tweaking some mats for her 3delight settings. I wish they looked as good as the iray settings. I still totally heart 3delight.

Tho i get awesome results in Iray... squee.

Beautiful renders. That first one in the lily pond is amazing!

Yeah, that 2 (give or take a few months) year time span seems about historically 'right'...although I kind of remember the line between first and second generations being somewhat blurred. 3rd generation was a pretty big change from the first two, followed up with a pretty big, almost incompatible change for the 4th. A lot of the tools for clothing and such conversion were invented then. The 4th to 5th changeover had made special efforts to keep compatibility. 5th to 6th dropped included 4th gen support, but was still mostly compatible.

Now, it's my opinion, that the current 'break' should have occurred at the gen4/gen5 line...

I don't remember the 3 to 4 switch to much, I joined pretty much at the onset of v4 I do remember some serious acrimony though. The v4 to genesis (outside of poser users) was pretty smooth. I think. in part. because of all of those compatibility efforts, but also because the auto-follow of morphs was such a perk that practically any complaint could be met by "yeah, but you don't have to worry about the clothes not fitting". It probably also helped that it had a very slow acceptance rate, there was a bunch of v4 stuff, even at daz3d, well after the genesis launch, so if you hated it you could mostly ignore it.

Honestly I always thought of gen2 as more of a gen1.5. that's probably why I was less aghast at the switch to a new generation. I mean, the technology in them was pretty much identical, which is why stuff transferred so well. I think Daz has even as much as said that the reason for gen2 was that content creators hated the unisex base with the fire of the sun. (speaking as someone who tried to model some female clothing on gen1 I agree here it was painful) but other than that, pretty much the same. If you think of gen 1 and 2 like that, suddenly the update schedule seems positively slow

That was a set of teeth morphs that are no longer available. I just updated to remove those...forgot they were even in there. I'm not getting a DupID error on my machine...so, not much I can do about that one.

But, back to the topic at hand. V7...

As far as I can tell, she's the best yet...
