...that's the nice thing about E-Cards (not the sarcastic ones), don't need to find someplace that sells individual stamps. I still have part of a book of stamps from years ago I never used up (32¢).

is foxbats a real thing? keep calm

the problem with wing membranes, morph stretching ruins the texture

...I know, had one land on me other other day. Stayed with me most of the afternoon (think it liked the shade as it was so hot).

This was the second time this happened in the span of about a week. The other one was odd as it was all yellow rather than orange with black spots.
Landed on you? I hope it was a ladybug and not a foxbat, :)
    Either kind of foxbat.:)

...the second one would have been most painful, and noisy.

I remember when the Mig 25 it was so "top secret" and the West was so worried about it because of its Mach 3 performance and high altitude capability. When one was finally inspected after a Soviet Pilot defected they found that all the avionics used vacuum tubes instead of solid state circuitry (the media at the time even poked fun of the fact). Though seemingly a step backwards compared to western combat aircraft, it actually gave the Mig 25 an advantage in that it didn't need environmental controls for the avionics and its systems were immune to EMP. For a combat aircraft, the Mig 25 had a rather short combat radius (186 miles) and range (744 miles on internal fuel). However it was only second to the SR-71 for both top speed and altitude performance.

Recently I took a nap and woke up and saw that the clock said seven something. I thought it was morning and I had to go to work soon but actually it was just seven pm.

Arghhhh... Landlady collected rent today and indicated the renters in the other half of the house are moving out and that she might be selling the house I live in. I hate change. She said she'd try to put in a clause in the sales contract to let me stay at my same rent that I've been paying for the last 7 years but I can't rely on that.

I've taken a peek at possibly moving to a trailer in Florida but I'm allergic to hurricanes. But I am getting really really tired of snow up here. I hate to think about packing and transporting stuff 1200 miles again, and changing doctors and dealing with Florida problems like bugs, heat and rust. So I don't know what to do. Just when my life was beginning to run smoothly (except for the $@%##$#$ snow.)

    $3.75 each

I don't believe in commercial greeting cards. I may be a grump but I've found that a handwritten note expressing an honest feeling often has more impact and reduces the cost to a nickel + stamp, and if everybody did that, a few platitude pushers would be out of a job and the owners of the card company would have to move out of their mansion and sell their boat.

If you don't know what to say in the handwritten note, browse the card isle in the store and plagiarize a couple of ideas.

All the regular postage stamps are Forever stamps now. So once you buy some, you can use them no matter if the price goes up between when you bought them and when you want to use them. It's a nice feature.

I don't use stamps very often, though. Christmas cards, yes. And some birthday cards to those who live out of state or way out of town. Other than that, only when I pay an odd bill, like for a book that comes in once a year (the Family Handyman annual books, for example). I've even renewed my driver's license and registration online for quite a few years now.

Hopping (as well as skipping and jumping) in the shower is not recommended as the surfaces are slippery and can lead to injury.
Remember that most accidents happen in the home so to be safe, never go home.

...in the same boat here. However rents here in Portland are becoming outrageous considering that most people here don't make 40,000+$ a year. Even a shoebox studio can go for as much as 800$ sans utilities. Waiting lists for low income units are upwards of two years or more as the upscale developers see there is no profit in building them. One friend just moved out of his place where he was paying 850$ a month for a small slightly run down 1BR flat. He learned that not only is the landlord is raising the rent to 1,300$/mo but there is already a hipster couple already willing to pay that and move in. It isn't even in a fancy upscale neighbourhood.

It's no wonder Portland has such a large homeless population.
