Curiously, it looks like Faceshop is no longer available in the DAZ store; but Headshop hasn't been released by DAZ yet.

Well, Charlie, you be the Judge:-)
    We submitted on 2/25:-(
    Hopefully soon...

I try to do upgrade from FaceShop8 to HeadShop9.
But I can not use HeadShop9 now.

I use 32bit Windows Vista, but I find HeadShop9 installer is 64bit application.
Then HeadShop9 installer can not run on my PC.

I rent Desktop Cloud with 64bit Windows, and run HeadShop9 installer.
Then I move files/folders to my PC, and try to run, but run FaceShop8.

I sent mail to vender, then get reply mail attached zip file.

I restore zip file, and store files/folders to place by vender message.
I try to run HeadShop, but error message appears then stoped.

I am to become busy on business, give up to continue to solve the issue
to be functional HeadShop9 on 32bit Windows Vista.

Not to be easy to upgrade from 32bit Windows to 64bit Windows.
    I hope HeadShop9 MacOS10 version.
64bit application can run easily on MacOS10.

I bought this directly from Abalone's store and I am running into nothing but errors even following the tuts. I highly doubt they will give me my money back but I am not sure this worth what they are asking for it considering it does not do what it says.

I have tried everything it says Daz figure not found then there is an error when it does find it....I am at a loss. When I load a saved object running it as a standalone it says in Morphloader one or more objects had no effect. I took one last chance on face/head shop....I am thinking I shouldn't have.

    1. Which figure are you trying to morph?
    2. AFAIK the morphs created are only loaded via the plugin to D/S.
    3. It does make a great start for creating skin textures if that helps any ;-) Will be uploading a tutorial in a few minutes to my DA Gallery.

Of course you can get your money back - we have 30-day money back policy.
But why not call for tech support first: 1-650-302-0894 (PST)

    Pixie,
I appreciate your call today. I further appreciate your remarks of continued loyalty to FaceShop/HeadShop and that you like our products.
The big missing link here is that you are trying to use HeadShop with DAZ Studio 4.8 Public Built, which is a beta product. Currently it creates separate folders that exist next to regular DAZ Studion 4.7 folders with the added moniker "Public Built".
I spent some time trying to figure a way around the issue and came up short. It is clear that DAZ built the beta with file structures that will be changed with the regular release.
My advice is NOT to attempt to use HeadShop with the beta software and wait for the regular release of DAZ Studio 4.8.
We will be happy to refund your money if you like - or alternately just use Studio 4.7 for the time being. (It is preserved and you will find it untouched in your Program Files/DAZ 3D folder.
    Laslo

Well, the name IS appropriate here in my part of Texas (Houston), where most of the shops that sell "headshop" type items also sell naughty lingerie, uber-high heeled shoes for "dancers" and other forms of skimpwear. In fact, they're pretty much the analog equivalent of the DAZ store...

And are usually next to day care centers because Houston doesn't believe in zoning laws :)

Sounds interesting. Will there be a demo version to play with to see if the consumer wants to spend almost $100 for an add-on?

    Two things:
    1. It is almost certain that it will be offered at an intro price of $79.95
    2. Both DAZ and Abalone offer 30-day money back - plenty of time to evaluate

I've upgraded to Headshop and read the manual but it doesn't say whether I should uninstall Faceshop 8 before installing Headshop. Can I install Headshop without removing the previous version of Faceshop? If I have to remove Faceshop 8 how do I do this and which files do I need to remove? Thanks for your help!

    Excuse me.

Will you sell the "HeadShop 9 Upgrade (from FaceShop 8)" at DAZ3D.com?

Or, Are you sure that you want to sell it on your site only?

    Thank you.

Happy that this finally came out!

Is the current version of Headshop 9 compatible with DAZ 4.8?

If not, when is a version coming that is DAZ 4.8 compatible?

  • edited June 2015

I just purchased HeadShop 9 at Daz3d.com and installed.

When I ran HeadShop 9 in the Daz studio 4.8(stable official, not beta) after loading Genesis 2, a popup window poped up, saying "No surface configuration has been recorded for this figure. Surface selection will need to be applied manually".

I clicked "OK" and HeadShop window came up.

Then I assigned a Morph/Texture name and selected "Face" and "Lips" in Surface selections, and "Head" in Geometry to morph settings, and click "Accept". (I read your manual)

Then again a popup window came up saying "HeadShop closed before it could creat the necessary files..."

I clicked OK, and the popup disappeared, and nothing happened.

Please let me know what to do.

    Thank you in advance.

    =======================

    I found the solution.

I updated "frame dot net"(through Windows update), and HeadShop is working normally.

HeadShop 9 was tested and runs on Studio 4.7.
Studio 4.8 beta has a different file structure, which will not work with HeadShop.

If you have issues with Studio 4.8 Released, there's a fix suggested by a reader:

"I updated “frame dot net”(through Windows update), and HeadShop is working normally."

Studio 4.8 is not officially released and so still has a different file structure, which will not work with HeadShop.

Actually, Studio 4.8 is no longer in Beta. It was officially released about a week ago.and is the only version of Studio 4 now shipping.. Studio 4.7 is no longer available even for those of us who previously had it and upgraded.

Will HeadShop be updated for Studio 4.8 in the near future?

    Testing it right now.
I suspect that as an official DAZ release it has no issues (was tested by DAZ as recently as 2 days ago).
    I'll keep you updated.

My purchase will be pending this resolution. I will say that the tutorials look great and it seems you are close to realizing such a long dreamed of "make myself in Poser" product. I hope you great success with this product.

I don't know the answer to that. I will investigate if DAZ can technically and operationally build an installer that recognizes a different product (FaceShop) and upgrade from it.

OK, we definitely tested HeadShop 9 with the public release version of DAZ Studio 4.8.
    It works fine:-)

Attention: Please make sure that DAZ Studio installs on the C: drive. We had a customer who had issues when installing on an other, auxiliary drive.

I have a Mac but I have also the Windows 10 beta running! If I buy the Windows version now... When the Mac version eventually comes out do I have to pay the full price again to get it?

Not at all. Same key works on both Mac and WIN:-)

Just a quick question. It looks like it will work well, but I can't move any of the shape dots. Why can't I click on them? Working in windows 8.1.
