Here is a test IRAY render of David 5 with a Shimuzu sword pose, one of SAV's Alpha sculps, a photometric spotlight & a point light (Environmental light off). A bit of postwork on contrast was done which bit more dramatic added a reddish look.
Very nicely done Keryna!
Very nicely done Keryna!I will second that. There is allot of 'Energy' in that render
Whew. After a LOT of experimentation today, I'm much happier with this, and feeling a little less of a noob.
Among the various changes:
Darkened the skin a little; the default skin is rather light, which is cool, because it's easier to add a little color as needed.
Added a little backscatter to the skin, used thin glass on eye reflection.
Worked a LOT on the hair, to turn it from a sticky muddy mess to where it is now. Took a nod from the hair thread and drove the color primarily from backscatter rather than base color/gloss (though I didn't quite go to black on all of those). Also reduced the displacement.
Also also, I finally figured out what setting was needed to pull in some floating scalp hair, and finally broke the ice on trying D-form to fix an annoying clipping on the scalp at one point.
Oh, also figured out how to do the teeth right. Essentially, a lot of translucency and up the Bump a bit to give them some realism.
(The hands look like she overdid some hand cream, but ... enh, good enough at this point!)
Slight update on my Irathiant
Thanks to all who are posting hint's and settings
Stopped @69% as I want to turn off the lip shine
great render, love your Irathiant Morph
and here another from me
Slightly different Theme than my last Renders
hm, i think the camera focal is a little wrong :(
Great renders, everyone!
Experimenting with Harry from Hivewire and the Breaking Waves.
The horse surface wasn't changed. I applied the "dispersive Water" shader for the ocean.
...wow, the mane and tail came out really nice.
Have to get back to messing with my Leela at the Stairway pic to fix her hair.
Thanks. :-)
I converted it to Iray base shader, to see what it was doing.
Except for Glossy Roughness set to 1, everything else was on default.
A transparency map was put in Cutout Opacity, though..
well I seems to have gotten away from portraits and slipped into abstracts...
Iray seems well suited for this.
Yes, I love how nifty materials can get. And that looks beautiful!
All the other renders also look good y'all. I've been distracted elsewhere (lights, hair, skin presets, and computer cooling).

...agreed.
My distractions have been more of the RL variety.
It's Fiora Hair, with a custom morph to hide the bangs and also reworked/replaced every texture
...have you detailed the adjustments you made over on the Iray Hair Thread?
Other than texture replacements the adjustments were taken from http://www.daz3d.com/forums/viewreply/794372/
Trying out LAMH with Iray some more.
I find it VERY hard to use effectively, but I really like how it looks when I manage it (just wish there were G2 presets out there to use)
I used many of the same settings suggested in the hair thread, particularly translucence (which works nicely with an actual modeled hair)
..and how many polys was that when converted to a .obj?
I have Garibaldi express but not sure I want to give that a try yet until I upgrade my system's memory.
I had to give it a go in an enclosed space, no IBL on it this time.
Thanks Mec4D!
Your creations look (even more) stunning in Iray. :)
Another portrait study, this time with "Hunter"
This is my first render with my new laptop. Only post work was the sig and adjustment of levels. I like what the bloom effect did with the lights.
changed my Hoplite material ..ready for battle ;)
HDRI Pixar campus for lighting
That looks incredible. Especially the armor materials, very realistic.
Cobalt Vanguard Uqab fighter.
The modeling is... not nearly as good as content creators on Daz3d, but hey, it at least looks a bit like ... something space shippy.
Blane's 7 microphone! Heheh
I really like the free Iray leather shaders that parrotdolphin created.
This image uses the Pixar Campus HDRI from Dylan Sisson.
Thanks mate, I like the set even better with this materials too
