    What does hss mean?

Depends on the context. To me, it would be High Speed Steel, which is used in drill bits. High Speed Serial on your computer? Heat Shrink Sleeve? I use those too. Those links to thefreedictionary work with any acronym substituted at the end. Acronyms are so overloaded these days...

I think I saw it referring to characters so unless it means characters have steel in them.

In the context of Daz Studio, yes. That HSS is used by all the M4/V4 Elite texture sets.

My wireless mouse is waiting for me at home! :cheese:

I hate trackpads, my Wacom tablet finally died, and my old mouse suffered a fatal coffee bath :red: so now I can go back to rolling the rodent!

I wonder how long the batteries in the wireless mouse will last. Mabey a month? Mice don't use much energy, I don't think. I hate trackpads too. I don't really like touch screens either for some reason.

Judging by my own experience, more than a year.

I use a wireless at work, I've been here seven months and no battery replacement! Pretty amazing, I think. :)

As with most engineering questions, the answer is...it depends. If you do a lot of clicking, it will die faster.

My answer was concerning the charge, not the battery itself. Although, the more often you have to charge it, the quicker it will die, too. Lithium Ion batteries' charges last longer and they charge up faster, but even they die eventually.

Today is OFFICIAL CURSING DAY! >:-(

    I'm cursing:

    - Oscilloscopes that show garbage waveforms >:-(
    - Power supplies that randomly drop voltages >:-(
    - Motor control chips that flip out without cause >:-(
    - Having to do complex, detailed breadboards that I barely understand >:-(
    - Fingers that are too numb on the tips to handle delicate wiring tasks >:-(
    - That I took this damned job >:-(

Need a drink, some heavy metal, and to get away from this mess... *cries"*

Ok, just wondering because I have never used a wireless keyboard or mouse before.

    ...very rantworthy.

Had my fair share of "curse" days as well.

I had an MS wireless keyboard. The batteries died too often. I think maybe all the typing is too much for batteries. But I love my Logitech Performance MX mouse! I just wish it had Lithium Ion batteries instead of NMh batteries. The latter don't last as long between charges.

I have a mouse now that can be wired or wireless depending on my mood. General work I use the wireless but modeling I use wired cause it has a much better responce time and no tiny glitches that don't respond to what your doing. This is the one I use. Logitech G700

The Performance MX can be used with the wire while it's recharging the batteries. I haven't had any troubles with responsiveness with it, though.
