    My first entry: "The  Dissident".
I'm afraid I got a little carried away on this one and strayed a bit from the theme.   All content from DA Z3D except for the benches and the overhead signs which were created in Modo. Redid some of the textures for the police bot and AT bot in Photoshop. The "mug shot" on the AT bot  have some lines due to some modeling that I could not be fixed easily. Illuminated by four spherical dome lights and rendered at 16 RPP with TA enabled. A bit over five hours to rand.

adbc - what an eerie place! And I love that colour scheme too.

Dan - and they got him! (I'm assuming that's a good thing) - great stuff.

drachenlords - another superbly done entry.

drachenlords - oh, that's lovely! I like the mistiness and the water.

  • Thanks Horo and MelanieL.

  • Horo, adbc. drachenlords, MelanieL- thanks for commenting!

spuddy - three excellent entries. I especially like the underground slice three. Very unique concept and well executed.

Horo - 3 very imaginative images. Love Unexpected Find – very cool concept. But you really nailed it in Lava Flow. Fantastic looking lava and very realistic glow effect.

drachenlords - wow, two awesome images. Excellent storytelling and I especially like the God rays in the Golem image.

adbc - Nice dungeon scene and Beautiful panoramic image but Below the Forest is an outstanding interpretation of the theme and an excellent render.

Hansmar - Glad you found your inspiration because the Cistern is a very fine rendering and looks very much like Roman era cistern I've seen. The water texture and the lighting are especially well done. Also, the second image is a nice interpretation of the lyrics and really like the fantasy/humor concept.

    My second entry: "Mystic Cave".
The model is stonemasons "the temple below". I have used the architecture in other images but this is the first time I've used the enclosing cave. The cross is from the provided contact with poser 7. The scene is surrounded by a large volumetric texture cube. The  Illumination comes from a single spot light above the cave. At 64 RPP, TA enabled; about 10 hours or so to rent.

Spuddy, MelanieL, Horo, adbc, mermaid, Yellow Pen, drachenlords, Dan, thank you all.

Adbc, Scary! I thought this was a giant with a rat in its throat!

Dan, First one (metro): certainly within theme and very well made. Love the ‘paintings on the walls’. But not sure whether I am more scared of the dissident than of the police. Second one in the cavel I like even more. Beautiful lights.

Drachenlords, Now, where is Indiana Jones, when you need him (or maybe the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.)? Fantastic render, thanks to the details and the lights.

After reading the text of Tom Waits’ song again, I decided to make a new one based on the same song: ‘A big dark town’. Various freebie houses and parts of Drachenlords City and some low poly people from Turbosquid. A terrain around the city. And various lights.
