I just found this thread and can’t wait to see this in the store! I looked through the whole thread and LOVE this render even though it is one of your earlier  ones. I wish I was there right now! Will this still be possible with the product the way you currently adapted it as a beach?

    @ Wonderland

The answer is yes, of course. The shore module consists of 2 seamless separate water tile geometries. The one adjacent to the the beach has the foam layer of breaking waves  and an incorporated wave morph. The other one has foam only on the wave crests. The foam layer can be switched on and off. The height of the waves can be increased or decreased by manipulating the "y" axis of the tile. This latter one is suitable to be used for pools or other small closed bodies of water as well. Otherwise, you can use any other existing geometry, replicate my tile geometry construction and then transfer the shaders over to your target geometry. Note that it has to have the Daz Uber shader attached to it. This was what I used in that render you love.smiley

LOL You lost me at “replicate my tile geometry construction”. Hopefully you will have a detailed PDF with screenshots! smiley

This looks amazing. I can't think of when I'd use it but I'd buy it anyway.

Oh man, I was almost hyperventilating when I saw that "The Sea Beckons" is the theme of today's sale, but.... seahorses. Oh well, have to stay positive. Release is near, right?

  • Yeah... this would have been a great product to release as "The Sea Beckons" hit the store.  I don't need sea horses, but I need this water asset!

I just discovered this thread and haven't had a chance to read through it in detail yet, so forgive me if this has been discused already.

The product looks great and will be on my "to buy" list. The only complaint I have is that the things in the water, like the boats and people, are not causing any ripples or disturbance. That's the only thing that's missing. Do you have any plans for a way to add ripples? Could you use a displacement or normal map as a decal to add ripples?

I'm putting together a water scene right now and would have used this straight away. Definitely count me as another very interested potential customer.

    I am still interested!!!!

Not saying this is, but EVEN IF it were a very finite set that only works in limited settings I would still snatch it up - I know it is not limited like that, but you had said it was a special set up.  So whether wide open, or a set scene, I will buy this AMAZING setup in a heartbeat when I find it for sale. Your demo scenes and images are just awe inspiring to someone who has been thirsting for a stunning water scene for some time.

    Keep going!

...I wonder if dForce could be used on effects like wakes as the surface is a mesh.

Still this is the most realistic water i have seen.

I wonder if you could use something like Iray Dust to get that floating particle thing going... or would it work against the special sauce you have cooked up for your asset?

I am wondering  if there is a Daz way to make the bottom of something Boat Etcetra that is submerged darker due to wetness etc... I saw folks talking about it, but IIRC, it was added in post...

I am not very experienced with dForce but I think it will be quite tricky to produce wakes that do not look like fabric folds. And I also think that tweaking those forces and wait for the simulations to run will be time consuming... Much easier and faster to sculpt them or paint them IMHO.

Thank you for your kind appreciations.

...just wondering as I have severe arthritis so a pressure sensitive tablet (required for sculpting) is no good and not having a very steady hand, my digital painting skills are nothing to write home about (which why I had to give up traditional art media). dForce also works for creating movement for hair so that is why I was wondering if it might not work.  I also have Fluidos II but not sure if it would be compatible.

Well, it looks amazing. I think the only way it would be a deal-breaker is if *you* were really bothered by people rendering it in 4.15. I'm not sure what the actual breakdown is, but I'd guess the majority have moved on from 4.12.

While I understand how frustrating it is given the time you've spent perfecting it, I really hope you decide to release it. There's nothing in the DAZ store that compares for this type of content, and I would surely pick it up.

Anyway, glad to see you post again, and thanks for sharing the gorgeous images.

This looks absolutely incredible!   I would buy this as-is, and tweek it for 4.15 myself if necessary, or use any older version of DS!
