Great renders everyone! I was in the mood for a forest render.
Secret Agent
What happened to him? Any idea?
Write your story....
Seeing as he's trying to use what appears to be a 1911 (a single-action only pistol) without the hammer cocked, I suspect that what happened next may not have been in his favour...
But that is very definitely me being pedantic.
M1911 is a single-action, semi-automatic, magazine-fed, recoil-operated pistol chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge. If that's what it is can't tell for sure there are several double action handguns with the same general appearance as the design has been copied and modified by a number of manufacturers
Can't yell if it was cocked as I can't see the hammer in the picture.
Either way I'd say he had a rude awakening
This is fair.
Still, a considerable majority of the semi-auto handguns made for DS (assuming it's based on a real world design) are based on the M1911, Beretta 92 or a Glock style pistol; in comparison, other manufacturers tend to be overlooked (bit of a missed opportunity all in all, means less variety for users).
True
I'd like to see some Sigs,Taurus, and a number of others that are out there includeing the 22 that was manufactured by Daisy for a short while
I know nothing about guns! So with you both I am learning
. That guy is in deep! But why?
That's the model I used : Z Hot and Loaded - Gun and Poses for Genesis 3 and 8.
That's more along the lines of the Beretta M9 long gun
I dunno. It's got the long grip spur, something where a grip safety would be, fairly straight grip panels, that solid trigger, the barrel mostly enclosed within the slide, and sort of the right shape around the front of the slide (although admittedly no thumb safety), so I'd still say it's closer to the 1911 than the 92. Although, definitely not an ultra faithful copy of the 1911, assuming that's what it's trying to be.
Anyway, I'm definitely into not-entirely-on-topic rambling now.

Nice scene
For some reason this brought to mind two old movies Them even though it was ants and not scorpions and The Black Scorpion
Did a test of the Granite Bedroom asset. Initially it looks just okay. Then I realize I had to add the include cameras to make it look really nice.
Windows reflection, light illumination, transperancy in the blinds, etc. Nice.
I remember 'Them' but not the other one.
The Black Scorpion (1957)

I think the thing that really got me with iray the first time I used it and still does, was that I no longer had to use every trick I learned with theater and studio lighting in order to get a scene lit the way I wanted it.
iray renders pretty much just a real light .. freeing me up to go back to being just a natural light photographer in a sense. (as opposed to a studio photog .. new different types of cat).
---
the lights in this scene are one of Dimension theorys night time skies of iradience way up top and probably not doing much
The streetlights have emissive bulbs and the head lights on the truck.. the main part with detective and the truck is under a viaduct.
---
What was really nice is that unlike in the real world I didn't have to worry about camera shake while shooting in a low light situation.
Occasionally I use little light balls for fill but basically I just use the natural light in a scene.
Nope, never saw that, although I was only seven. In saying that I did watch 'The Quatermass Experiment' and hiding behind the couch at the scary bits :)

That was a good one

Wanted to practice cinematic stuff. Love that Y2K Zenon aesthetic.

I've been trying out new techniques and here are a few of my renders
Beautifully posed and very atmospheric. My kind of warrior!
Cheers,
Alex.

I used the PBR shader then added a Minto skin with Misumi eyes onto Xiao Yun and dialed the face a bit
I used the makeup slider for her lips and it actually worked okay. I made the makeup weight .27, makeup base color 149, 21, 30 and makeup roughness mult .26
I also added textures from skin detail resources 1
There's still snow outside here in the UK, so a vaguely thematic render:
Hi guys! I'm a solo indie game dev from France.
I'm kind of new to Daz, I've been using it since less than a year making semi-realistic 3DCG versions of my characters.
Actually, I'm now considering using Daz renders for the cutscenes of my upcoming game called "Dark Fairytale" - still at concept / prototype stage.
Here's the portrait of Rachel. It's currently used in the title screen loop, which is a gallery of the main characters. Any thoughts?

Really enjoying Victoria 8.1. Tweaked the top coat a little to create the sweaty look. Normally I shift the transmitted color to a light peach, but in this case it works.
Done some IRAYPBRshaders tweaks. Genesis8.1 Female with IRAYPBR shaders, luejaunte Amira HD texture, G8F shapes, and Linday's dForce Virgin Hair
