Or possibly, during Christmas. Boxing Day isn't over yet...
Eastern Orthodox Christmas is January 7.
No one cares. Most Russians I know don't treat either Christmas as a big deal. They're all about New Year. And most Greeks I know celebrate Christmas in December along with everyone else, even if they still go to church in January. Anyway, for Daz this isn't an oops, so much as SOP.
I love how you seem to have more insight into this than the acual PAs. The potential would be there if this was a big enough market which it isn't according the PAs and DAZ. Until that day comes, it makes sense for PAs to cater to the masses instead of the few who cry the loudest.
Also, as rawart posted, the PAs are artists to and create what inspires them, not what some users declare they want. Just because you want an Uncle Sam outfit doesn't mean any PA feels like making one.
Well, it appears that PAs vary in their motivations, both individually, and moment-to-moment. On the one hand, some produce skimpy clothing because it sells, and on the other, some only produce what they feel like producing, and only put in as much effort as they feel like putting in.
If I were a PA, and my Christmas stuff hit the store when there's no longer a demand for it, I would conclude that there's insufficient demand, and no longer produce it. In the case of today's offerings, my guess is that the items were submitted to the store some time ago, and that rather than Christmas items, we got cyberpunk and volleyball animations. The cyberpunk stuff is topical, but real cyberpunk fans would be playing the game (or trying to) rather than rendering right now.
Isn't it just amazing how much insight you have into the behind-the-scenes workings of the DAZ store that the rest of us don't possess. Please enlighten us further.
who prefers to buy holiday stuff the day after the holiday?
who finds it more profitable selling holiday stuff after the holiday?
I don't think it takes much insight to realise this is less than ideal
I am personally done with Christmas until fall of next year. Anything on sale now or newly released will get bought next fall or in a deep dish sale. I am thinking of Valentine's Day now.
Probably the wholesale suppliers for the event industry. The event industry itself starts planning and preparing for next year's Christmas in about a month's time.
This thread makes me curious, if any sort of holiday stuff doesn't sell well except for violent themes, that could be deemed to be Halloween themed because of the violence, what does sell really well besides female models? Do female clothes sell as well as female models? Does female hair sell as well as female models? After all most of the female models in the store are based on the same merchant resources for skin materials and even for the most avid collector that must get monotonous after about 25 or so of such models. We know 'guys' and 'guys clothing' does not sell so well. What's left? poses, environmental sets, guy hair, occasional scripts, and increasingly more pre-canned animations.
I don't particularly think DAZ's sort by popularity in their store is even remotely accurate. Wonder what the time frame is, week, 2 weeks, month?
I think the popularity sort is pased completely on input from a guy named Tony who hangs out by the DAZ water cooler. That said, I think most people have pretty highly inflated concepts of how well anything at the DAZ store actually sells. Sickleyield recently updated her "Making a LIving At DAZ3d" article at Deviant art, and it still says that only a few DAZ artists manage to break six figures annually at DAZ, and I've seen more than a few quotes from other PAs of products not even breaking a hundred units.

the Christmas stuff is still coming for next year
Lol. At least that outfit looks reasonably versatile and can be used for non-Christmas renders.
I would like to know if this set: https://www.daz3d.com/santas-helper-outfit-for-genesis-8-females comes with the skirt also, looking at the text on the promos and the description it looks like that it is not included, but it is in the same materials so it gives the impression that that is part of the outfit. A bit confusing. I'm not buying this if the skirt doesn't come with it.
If you look at the readme, you'll see that it's included.

Thanks for the reply
, it looks like the skirt is included. I'll add it to my wishlist. But the skirt is not listed in the description or listed in text on the promos like the other parts of the outfits, must be an error.
Yup! Artistic Lighting Kit: It's Christmas Time! | 3D Models and 3D Software by Daz 3D
It's Totallly Christmas Time!
On the other hand, missing Christmas isn't as bad as missing St. Valentine's Day, which we'll probably also miss.
