  I think it's a boundary marker / listening post for a settlement. Used to mark the territory and detect incoming thingamibobs.

  power has been just unstable enough here with the "Stuff No One Wants", that I didn't want to risk corrupting hard drives installing stuff. I really do look forward to the red planet model, I think I may have some craft models that won't dump out in daz to place around mars, lol.   Thanks much, for Mars, and the other stuff.

  Try going to the main DAZ store page: use the "Sort By" drop down menu at the far right, and pick "Price Low High." Anything free will sort to the very top.
  
  This includes all of the free gifts generously offered by DAZ PA's that are still free, even if you missed them on the day they were released. Some of them have stayed free for a few days, from what I hear. Maybe you can still collect some of the ones you missed, on the day they were released.

  I'm guess it's a sci-fi outer marker beacon. Probably a beacon to indicated the outer edges of a landing system or outer reaches of a communication system.
