Annoying issue I am having is the 50 50 download failure/success in DiM or via browser.. Before this store update a download failure was once in a blue moon sort of thing, but now it is happening so often that I have come to expect a download failure whenever I buy and download anything..

  • Dunno if this has been mentioned yet, but clicking the product image in Product Library leads to an Oops page. Not a big deal, just thought I'd point it out.

Has anyone else recieved a message on DIM that they had exceeded their download limit and were being put on offline mode to try again later?

Daz please fix the oversized product thumbnails when you download them in DIM ...they are huge so you can only see half of them and you can't see the pertinent information that would display on the top right hand side of the thumbnail about the product.  I don't think a thumbnail is supposed to be so huge, what happened to the perfect sized ones we used to get?  This has to be a very simple programming thing that could easily be taken care of.

I don't think DAZ has a download limit in DIM. Did maybe your IP provider impose a data limit?

As an additional note I just completed downloading and installing some 25,000 products on my second computer with DIM.

The code DIM uses is no longer getting the correct response from the store as a result of the changed software. It's a known issue, but I don't know how high it is on the fix list.

Yes, it is probably not download limit but due to too many downloads at the same time.

Trying to buy Decimator (Daz original) with the monthly coupon and it won’t discount. Is this a known issue, or is it just me?

    Edit: solved the problem

My pet peeve: winkWhy isn't the list of known problems in the first post in this thread updated anymore? Jack said he would update it as items were pointed out, but that doesn't happen.

I'm getting an invalid link for this product https://www.daz3d.com/evelyn--lynn-hd-for-genesis-8-female but it appears on the historical sales banner in the Holiday Sale page. Is this a deactivated product?

I have noticed that when quoting a post, the text insertion point goes to the end of the quoted text, there is no new line after the quote. If you don't look as you type, you'll wonder where your reply went once you do...

Something new: when quoting a post, a new page opens up with no previous messages visible. Is that intentional? Hard to tell where you are, or refer back to other posts.

Daz_Rawb said that fixing the missing icons on forum pages had somewhat confused the WYSIWYG editor - I assume that the quoting/editing behaviour is an aspect of that.

Looks like it (ReadMe) but it wasn't PC+ before. There are no other micro-icons in the info slab, so it might have been intended for something else.

I don't know if this is a store issue, a DIM issue or what, but I bought https://www.daz3d.com/sy-naturally-flushed-genesis-8 today and just looked at it in DS and found that only the G8F files are showing. Although DIM shows the G8M files downloaded, they are not showing in Smart Content, nor when I look in Content DB Editor.

I tried deleting the product in Content Library, closing DS, uninstalling in DIM, reinstalling in DIM, updating metadata there, then reopening DS and the product is still in Lost and Found.

Other than a Customer Service report, does anyone have a suggestion to get those files to show up? (I just got a real reply and action on a report from October 2020 this week.)

Okay. A second tab and extra vigilance for now.

Also noticed that saving drafts in that new page for a quoted post doesn't work, automatically or manually. A refresh will delete anything you write, so be careful.

That most likely means that the metadata is not correct. Seriously so, although it doesn't take much to throw it off. Missing content type, incorrect path or filename, among others. Some corrections can be made to the metadata in Studio, some might need changes to the metadata file itself.

A help ticket would be the only way to go, officially, but maybe new products would be on the front burner, and get prompt action. Perhpas someone with the product who is fluent in metadata can join in.

  • @DAZ_Rawb  if you're still collecting them, the manual download for  IM00079150-01_MineTimeG8MTextures.zip  fails repeatedly. Gets part way through and fails.

Been trying for about 20 minutes now.

    Thanks I will do that!

  • More login weirdnesses. I connected tonight after logging out last night, and the little blue man was showing. I thought I'd forgotten to log out, which I used to do sometimes, but trying to wishlist stuff, or cart today's freebies, gave me a "have to login to do that" message.

Yes, it is probably not download limit but due to too many downloads at the same time.

This is the messege I recive all day today, with no products in the download tab. Is there a way to fix this?

  • Anyone looked at their Product Library page recently? I think the "Purchase Date order" glitch has been fixed at long, long last.

I do believe you are right. The Z format used for the purchase date field can never double back on itself like the AM-PM format before.

Now they just need to replace the most confusing AM-PM format with the least confusing 24 hour ISO format.

Abandon the AM-PM format?  So that all our years studying Latin go to waste?  I think not!

That's what I meant to say, but the ISO part didn't come to mind. That's what is used now, with 1 second increments. Not the real purchase date and time, but at least it will sort properly, and never run out, at least until the count reaches the year 2038 (or 2 billion products)cheeky before we do. The year, that is. Yeah, Y2K38 Epochalypse is coming...

  • Will the original Gallery renders be carried over when the site returns, or are the new Galleries being built from scratch, requiring users to upload their old images all over again?

Still cannot logon to DIM.  (Install manager displays the error "Unable to login to the specified account.  Verify the email and/or password and try again."

Now there is a new wrinkle.  When I use EDGE to go to https://www.daz3d.com:

    Sometime it works.

Sometimes:  I get a warning from CenturyLink (my 1 GB ISP):  "Warning!  www.daz3d.com has been flagged as dangerous.  Visiting it could be harmful to your device.

Sometimes:  The browser displays a screen saying:  YOUR CONNECTION ISN'T PRIVATE.   Attackers might be trying to steal your information from www.daz3d.com ...    NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID.

I've cleared the browser cache, but it didn't help.  Even installed Firefox.  Again it works sometimes, and sometimes reports:  WARNING:  POTENTIAL SECURITY RISK AHEAD.  Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to www.daz3d.com.  If you visit this site, attacks could try to steal information like your passwords, emails, or credit card details.  .... The issue is most likely with the website, and there is nothing you can do to resolve it.  You can notify the website's administrator about the problem.

    Any ideas? ?!?

    More evidence of CERTIFICATE ISSUES:
Although I normally use DIM, I installed DazCentral on a second PC, to see if it made any difference.  However, much like DIM,  DazCentral reports that the email and/or password does not match their records.  (Although it is the same email and password I just used to access my account at daz3d.com .)
There was one difference, however:  It gave me the option to click FORGOT PASSWORD.    So I gave it a try. My Edge browser took me to https://www.daz3d.com/customer/account/forgotpassword/ .  But Edge reports a CERTFICATE ERROR, and blocks access, reporting:  THIS SITE IS NOT SECURE.

So once again, there seems to be a problem with Daz's security certificates ... at least on some of the servers they are using.

Note to DragonFly_2004:  Yep, ticket 357546, reporting that I could  logon to Daz3D but no longer logon to DIM was submitted to Daz 3D Tech Support on Nov 27.  The ticket receipt noted that it can currently take 4-6 weeks for a response.  I want to see if anyone else is encountering security certificate errors, before creating another ticket.

Just convert everything to 64 bit, then it will take a long time before we run into that problem again.  wink
