Are these really new releases? The Daz Deal plugin is showing them released May 18th and May 25th? (Take your cursor along the price grid chart.)  I don't recall them being released earlier.

To what products do you refer?

Make sure you click on "View All Items" under the Platinum Club for a Day listing. The sales page mainly just shows older V4 products listed for me, so I was going to pass on it - I had glossed over the "View All Items" button the first time but noticed it on the second look. I'm glad I clicked on it as there are a few newer items there as well - a couple are on my wish list. So I'm glad I double-checked. :)

    Wow, i totally missed that.

Still, from 877 items only 7 are G3/G8 (all PA). Most of the "massive" selection is so old (and DO) that seems more apropiate on a buy 5 (or even 10) for 1.99 total. This sections started on really high note on monday and the declined a lot, fortunaly there are still some nice PA items here and there.

Take your pick. Put your mouse on the graph and MOST IF NOT ALL of the new releases are shown as May releases or June, earlier.  The Overmaster Water is June 2. Tiger thing is May 27th.  Cocktail Bar May 13. ETC.

I don't understand. I see Jun 6 on all of them.

That's always been like that. Must be from when they went into the queue.

The products have the release date on the readme. Daz isn't responsible for what a third party addon says.

You can check the official release date on the readme page, or by displaying the info from the readme on the product page directly (see my sig for links). Based on the price history, it's when you see the initial new-product discount. Well, that's for 99% of the cases, anyway. When products don't get an intro discount, and are not displayed on the front page, then only some of these may work. The readme's release date info is probably the best choice.

Daisy 8, the Dark Fairy Enters the Semi-annual PC+ Sale:

"PC+ Members only: buy any Debut or Still New items and get up to 5  Select Genesis 3 Characters for $1.99 each" The selection at the link has completely changed since last night; it is now mostly G8. I have tested 2 hairs (Twist Braids G3/8F & Ashley G3F) that were on the former but not the current and they still discount to $1.99 with Debut/Still New purchase.

Disappointing. Having to go to the Readme page to get a date, then go back to the graph and figure out where that date is?  But you're at least trying to provide a service and thank you for being upfront about it.

You can also add the release date right to the product page with my "release date for new items" script. The result will look something like this:

That saves you the extra click to check the readme page. Of course, this info is only available when there is a readme page.

Plus you can usually see from the graph when the product was released: the first dip in price when it got the intro discount.

Step 1 is to install the addon in the left column, and step 2 is to choose whichever script you want from the right. The one that shows the release date is at the bottom.

It apears that a couple of the artist are the ones no longer available. Maybe because they were added to the rotation of "Friends of Sale" (bellow the featured one, the are rotating by initial letter of the PA). I noticed this in particular because ironman13 were a huge part of that selection and is no longer available ("i" is now featured).

I know this is probably an issue with automation, but when you have a promo with an 850+ selection of items and suddenly you loose over 30% it does not look good.

  • evacynevacyn Posts: 989

Not sure if this is happening to other PAs, but I have a bunch of stuff by Human (https://www.daz3d.com/human) on my wishlist and I was going to pick some up today based on the sale. However, if you go to their page, only the sale items appear - i.e., if you go directly to the PA page, not the sale link. It still shows New Releasese, but some of their products are missing. Here's an example - Ebano can be searched and found on the site (https://www.daz3d.com/ebano) but clicking on the PA's name doesn't show it in the list on their product page. Not sure if there are others...

It's fixed as far as I can tell; but didn't notice whether ironman13 is back. I suspect the G3 link was accidentally replaced by the same link as the $1.99 G8 items for buying the Daisy Starter or Pro Bundles & finally got switched back.

I went back to the M4/V4 selections after I saw something on my wishlist for $1.99. Might pick up a couple more things from it, too; there are a lot of hairs* in that sale & the other $1.99 promos. In fact I grabbed M7 Pro from the PC+ For a Day mainly for 2 hairs I didn't have.

*Hairs are the easiest to use with newer generations -- position manually; parent, don't fit to; & add Iray shaders if you want.

Most of the older hairs will also work well with Smoothing applied, and you can then set the figure as the Collision Item. That makes adjusting the fit a little easier.

It's a 100% free add-on with a TON of awesome features. One feature that isn't 100% "perfect" simply because the way Daz releases things, isn't a huge deal, imo. Ati and Overdrawn have done an incredible job and an invaluable service to the 3D community with their Daz-Deals add-on. I, for one, am hugely thankful for it. Being able to see the percentage off of products in my cart, being able to sort the store by what's on my wish list, being able to sort by what's valid for the PC+ coupons, getting notifications when my wish list items are on sale, etc etc. The add-on is incredible and shopping here would be much more difficult without it. If one small aspect of the add-on isn't completely perfect because of how Daz rolls out items, that's not a huge deal, imo. :)

Remember to always click on the Daz Deals email links to the store before checkout, so they get their affiliate commission. That is how they can afford to keep giving us new features and support for browser updates. The click lasts a little while, so you don't have to click immediately before checkout, but it seems like the duration of the affiliate link keeps getting shorter. I think it used to be 30 days and then went to something like 3 12 days. I probably have the exact timing wrong, since I am not an affiliate myself. The point is, click on Ati's email links to the store frequently. I be sure to do it at least once a day and from any device I plan to buy from. Besides, the emails are a convenient and easy way to go straight to the store sale or wishlist item I'm interested in anyway.

@Ati, please correct any of the facts I got wrong here.

Edit corrected affiliate link duration to 12 days. Thanks, Ati.

Not 3 days, but 12. The rest is accurate. We do appreciate the use of our affiliate links from the notification emails. And as always, I mention that if anyone has issues with us getting a small commission, then simply don't click on our links--you are still free to use the addon and the notifications.

The Magical Forest in the Platinum Club for a Day sale is showing up at $7.90 rather than $1.99. I tried placing it in my cart, but there was no change in price. VYK Banshee for Genesis 8 Female is showing up at $14.90, and while I am not interested in the Banshee character, others may be.

Do you have a new release in the cart? The magical forest is in the PC for a day AND the 5 for 1.99 with new realease purchase this is most likely causing the issue.

Putting a new release in the cart reduces the price to $1.99. Unfortunately, I have $12 left in my DAZ budget for the month and was hoping to get two more BYOB deals and three PC for a Day items. The Magical Forest would work great in a project I am working on, but a $5 price tag for both a new release and the forest would prevent me from buying one of the BYOB bundles.

Brand new items doesn't seem to be triggering the extra 10% off on related artists.

Desolation Road is by Khory, so it falls under the K-M artists being discounted today.

Afternoon Classics is one of today's new items.

Personally I would buy it without the new release, if you can afford to do this, take screen shots including date of the $1.99 page where it is listed and send to CS asking them to credit the difference. Its a shame they don't check for duplicates in these sales it causes so many problems and no doubt numerous extra tickets for the poor overworked staff.
