Thanks. I remember that post. I've found that even where a well-made RL suit would not have folds/creases, a corresponding Daz suit SHOULD have them in the sleeves, crotch, and legs to be believable. Polyester tubes do not look convincing.
Can i ask how many pro-packs do you have? I have 8 after buying 5 on monday (including valentino) and did not get the banner. I also have no money and 20% off with code is not a good deal, but i hate not knowing what number makes the cut for these banners.
I have no idea what makes the cut in terms of how many Pro Bundles you have to have, but I got a banner and I have 25. Of course, I didn't buy all these bundles...many were acquired when they actually gave one or two additional pro bundles away for purchasing one.
*edit* Okay, I have no idea how that quote got messed up, but I was responding to @Wolfwood. Yay, broken forums.
Wow...Ugh. Nice base character but horribly undermodelled outfits. They look like the female version of some of the awful content in male bundles we've seen lately. I personally detest dforce clothing. It never fits well for me.
Finally had a chance to look at the High Collar Outfit, primarily the Jacket. I am surprised that there was no mention of all the adjustments possible for it, especially the collar. It seems to be quite flexible. I am attaching a snip of the adjustment sliders for you.
I have to get to the store, but will check out the other outfits later.

Interesting, For a "Time Traveler," it would have been neat to incorporate some more historical clothing choices into the bundles rather than purely futuristic ones. She seems like a generic North American caucasian woman. All I can think of when seeing her are "Karen" memes. There are older female characters that have, well, more "character." Elithia. Sydney.
From the comments, we all have different tastes. I like the high collar outfit and the hooded outfit. I also like Camilla. Add a veil to the futuristic dress and you get some great Dr. Who looks.
Accidentally clicked on this promo and saw the neck seam (13th in the list; 4th row leftmost). She's gonna need a scarf year round, or maybe that's the reason for the High Collar Outfit.
Oh wow! That's awful! How did that pass?
There's also the black marks on her forehead, but that seam is really bad is it just an render error or is that evident in the texture itself?
There's a seam here too.
Sorry, there just isn't anything I want or need there. I haven't said that often, there is usaully something that strikes my fancy, I just can't see myself using any of it.
I must say that the AliveSheCried set of Alt morphs is fantastic. Packed with "Character".
Yep looks like an actual problem with the texture itself, you would have thought someone somewhere would have noticed it and got it corrected, even if QA missed it didn't those doing the promos report it, seems rather odd that it got through.
I feel bad for the PAs who made some nice addon characters who will lose sales because the bundle and deal is so bad...
YOW! This is really bad.
With a little bit of luck it's a mistake in the presets rather than a mistake baked into the maps. But either way... this is bad.
Seam here as well: https://www.daz3d.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/a/u/aubrey-022-b-beauty.jpg .
Very unfortunate as she is a very well made character. I hope they release a fix for her.
"after what we got with Dain"
Pray tell, what was wrong with the Dain Pro Bundle?
I haven't used it very much but had no issues with the peices I did use.
Dain himeself is gorgeous, but the outfits that come with him are pretty heinous. The whole thing was a fiasco because they were all listed as Daz Originals and the artist on the readme is an unknown so there was a definite cringe factor with the quality. I have the stuff. It's awful. Left it hanging in DIM uninstalled because it's not even worth being in my content directory.
The black marks come from the transparent part of the headcap taking up the same space as the model. It's a common problem with certain hairs. Surprised that it got missed in the render, though.
Everything looks great and usable at first glance but the quality of the clothes is questionable.
If you are curious to fint out more: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/381456/dain-8/p10 is full of different issue with the clothes.
Yea I know what it is and what causes it - presumably the promo artist doesn't.
The neck seam has always been a problem due to the face maps being disproportionaly larger (scale not dimensions) than the torso maps.
That sort of neck seam isn't that noticeable unless you're really really close. This neck seem is a complete color and texture mismatch.
@Greybro, I did a fairly detailed review of the Dain 8 Pro bundle. You can read it here. There are two posts, the second one with rendered comparisons of the outfits on G8M and Dain 8. The outfits from Dain's bundle look great, as long as you don't need to pose the character wearing it; the biggest offender being the Bouncer outfit. The pose sets both specify Dain 8 in the product name, but neither pack included a set optimized for Dain 8, something we have come to expect anytime a pose set includes the named figure in the product name.
Another similiarity between the pose packs in the Aubrey 8 bundles and those in the Dain 8 bundles is the clothing on the figures in the promos. In both releases, each pose pack has the figure wearing clothing from the bundles. Compare that to pose sets included with other bundles, where the vendor creating the poses and promos does not have access to the clothing in the bundles, as they haven't been released yet.
Also notice, pose sets from established vendors typically dress the characters in skimpy or form fitting clothing so we can see the whole pose. But with the Diplomatic Poses, you can't actually see what most of the pose looks like under that dress.
I was testing the full High Collar Outfit on Aubrey 8 and did NOT want to use her makeup, so I looked at the makeup from other characters. One changed her face's skin color, so I went back to her natural skin and used the Christmas freebie FLP Makeup for Genesis 8 Female(s) by AprilYSH. I did the render when I saw the entry about the skin texture, so I closed the eye on the top and jacket and moved my camera. I am not seeing a noticeably line, other than one that might occur when your skin is tanned, and minor folds are lighter. Maybe I am missing where you all are looking?
It's not as noticable in your renders. Perhaps it's since been fixed.
I thought perhaps the makeup included with Aubrey is the cause of the seam. She does not seem to have on makeup in this promo, but the seam is still visible. Maybe I'll have to buy her and see for myself.
@memcneil70 Does that hair you used have a scalp/skullcap?
Or possibly the makeup is off matched? You know, like when a woman uses a base liquid that is too light or dark or red for her natural skin color and didn't feather it in carefully down her neck, and it looks like she is wearing a mask? Or at least how it did when I wore makeup back in the 1980s before I became allergic to everything.
Forgot to mention, the hair, well I used ColorWerks Hair Shaders for Iray to change it from the default blond. Didn't care for the other options that came with it. The only adjustments were for the hair on the sides by the face.
There was no material zones in the jacket. I want to try shaders on it, but not sure it will work.
That happened to me too. Nobody believed me though. They just could not understand how I could be sensitive to so much.
You mean, the jacket has one surface? Named "default" I presume?
Some of the DO characters have overlays that can easily be applied to other characters, and some don't. Alawa 8, Tasha 8, Kala 8, Monique 8, and Zelara 8 all have makeup presets that you can use on any G8F (or G3F). I wish all DO characters were like that. Technically, you can manually add the overlays yourself from the surfaces tab and browsing to the files, but it's a pain-in-the-pooper, especially if the overlay needs to be set to a specific color, etc. Much easier if they just made a preset that doesn't swap out the base skin texture with it. If the makeup is already an overlay, there's no reason to have it linked to the skin texture. I love makeup overlays and geoshells, lol.
