All fixed.  We will announce winners to the people who won by the end of the day.  Also, everyone who answered at all will get a $10 store credit added to their account by the end of the day.  Thanks all for being understanding!

Double holy smokes indeed! Thank you for the exceptional customer service that has made this such a fanDaztic experience for all! Needless to say, I am sure that we all very much appreciated the unexpected gift and I just managed to checkout on a big gift card welcoming myself back to the DAZ community :) Stay blessed and healthy, everybody!

Wow, I got my participation store credit already! Daz is very generous, even to non-winners. Thanks again for turning lemons into lemonade.

Daz 3D has let us know that they are working on the issue with the sales rules and it shouldbe fixed in a few minutes.  In the meantime we have a contest.  Post what your favorite product is and why.  The most entertaining 3 answers that have been posted when the issue is fixed each get $150 store credit added to their account.  Here is my post:

... well, that would have been helpful to know back before they fixed it! :p

which would make my FAVORITE product my email program - because it ALWAYS lets me down at times like this!  I should get the notification sometime tomorrow (#head-desk)

I realize that is not a DAZ product, but really - even with the bugs that occasionally happen - DAZ's products *WORK* better than any decent email program I have ever found!  And no, I don't consider 'Outlook' a valid email program: using Outlook is like going into a strange bar and roofy-ing yourself!

They give some store credit and you are all ready to forgive and forget yet another day full of errors, store bugs and wrong prices.

If this happened once in a blue moon I would understand it but it isn't the first time this year. It's not even the first time this spring.

Seriously, how hard is to have a backup site where to pretest all offers before sending them out to us.

This time I got spared but I know plenty of people lost precious time looking in the store. Our time is precious!

Instead of an apology and store credit I would prefer prevention so this doesn't happen in the future.

Except when a service such as my internet goes down, I get exactly nothing...and I still have to pay my bill. So this is a win for an outage to me.

i know I’m too late as it’s over cos it was Sleepy-Time here in Oz when it happened, but I’m gonna throw my two cents in anyway cos I’m sitting here waiting for blood work to be done and I had to fast which means no COFFEE for me so not only am I still half asleep, but also kinda loopy without caffeine. My favourite product is the Make Art button. It’s quite tricky to find in the store as it’s well hidden and only surfaces when the moon goes into its purple gibbon phase, but when you’re on a quest to become the next Michealangelina, you’ll hunker down and scour the site 24/7. I do think it’s a bit faulty tho as only about 1 in 10 renders actually turn out good when pressing it. It does however, work wonders with the unflateable pony and the morphing brick. I will admit it is quite steep in price, although I’m sure my First Born does remember me fondly, if not vaguely. It does save me a lot of time that is put to better use such as paying bills and feeding myself, although the downside is that your finger will wear down to a teeny-weeny nub, so keep that in mind. All in all tho, it was definitely a wise investment, and I’m only hoping it will still work when Genesis 27 is released.

Yeah, I want to encourage stores everywhere to throw some store credit my way when they make mistakes, because everyone I know makes mistakes, including me.  Notice my tag line is a quote about nothing being foolproof.  Not everyone does as much as I'd like to correct mistakes.  Regarding Daz3D, I've had very good experience on those occasions when I've had to file a ticket for some inevitibale glitch.

Thank you again, Daz_Steve and everyone at Daz3D.  Your efforts are much appreciated, and the impromptu contest and store credit was a great treat.  Super great.  smiley

Daz missed mine, I put my answer in my original post. And I could not keep it to one item but gave a series.

Oh well, Daz you still did good. And I agree with Barbult, the Customer Service team is excellent.

2 months ago we got coupons for free DOs and more DOs with a minimal purchase because of a rocky rollout to the MM sale. If they want to keep throwing free stuff at us, then they can make all the mistakes they want. And it's not as though there have not been mistakes in our favor. During MM there was a flash sale allowing you to choose a free G3 character if you bought 3 items from the flash sale. Because they keep putting free items into these sales list, I picked up 2 characters using them as the buy-in. It was that way for a couple hours, and only changed after I shared it for people who weren't aware. This was a fun little game and the free credit was a very nice surprise. Yeah, the gliches are frustrating, but these efforts to make up are very appreciated. I want to add my thanks for the credit.

Yeah, my internet provider has had some glitchy days, probably from all the people using Zoom/Google Classroom/Microsoft Teams/etc. for school and work.  They never gave me a credit or even a game to play while waiting for service to be restored.

  • Awesome, thank you DAZ for the store credit!  Such a nice surprise!

Yeah, got to though my 1.5cents in with the rest there:

we'd all LIKE to live in a Perfect World.. but we can't!  So I will just take those people who, while imperfect, appreciate and are considerate of me and be very satisfied!

@ Fixmypcmike: Did you ask? My internet service provider will give me credit for downtime only if I ask for it; but the small amount I'd get is hardly worth the hassle of asking for it.

Mine, too, but unless it is an extended outage, the time you wait on hold with customer service is not worth it.

To make it up to you all (while we fix the sales), let's do this:

Put this test in your post "Daz 3D has let us know that they are working on the issue with the sales rules and it shouldbe fixed in a few minutes.  In the meantime we have a contest.  Post what your favorite product is and why.  The most entertaining 3 answers that have been posted when the issue is fixed each get $150 store credit added to their acount.  Here is my post"  Then add your details on a product and why.

my favourite product is Carrara heart

he has a soft body and rigid physics that excite me kiss

His particles flow, I explore his terrains and replicate my trees that rustle in the wind

he puffs a volumetric cloud afterwards and I play with the metaballs, shaping a spline and pulling a few vertices around with soft selection, displacement and a magnet after extruding them excitedly.

then I get out the paintbrush and can paint with coloured images over all my seams be they overlapping UDIM it doesn't matter he gives me all the maps, not just the pretty colours but displacement, alphas all the joyfull tattoos as layers on my diffuse across all boundaries.

He is so complete nobody else can compare with their one trick.

I am going to miss him when the Windows let him go crying and will mourn as will those who succumbed to eating the latest big Mac from the Catalina restaurant that drove him away already.
