Dforce works better on genesis 1&2 for me

this is something I am consistently finding

Dforce sims are less likely to explode, ride up, do unnatural stuff  if I use Genesis 1&2

even autofitting Genesis 8 Dforce clothing

some I don't fit just pose to fit and it still seems to work better than on their original figures

I am wondering if anyone else is finding this

I haven't tried but I believe what you say. It's probably because Genesis & Genesis 2 have more polygons than Genesis 3 & Genesis 8. I think it's an indication Genesis 9 needs to substantially raise number of polygons used. AAA games and hardware now handle many more polygons than before. What I noticed was older pre-Genesis 3 clothing simulates better than non-dForce Genesis 3 and non-dForce Genesis 8 clothing.

I pretty much make my own due to the lack of depth on the items, which can certainly cause fun with sims; I wonder if I fit it to a G2 if I'll have fewer issues.

G1 and G2, bend and deform much worse imo. Even G3 doesn't seem 'quite' as good as G8.

well for the sort of garments I am dforcecing

flouncy robes with massive sleeves etc

I don't think it is a big issue how accurate the bends are other than they are in the right places for an animation as you mostly only see the hands and the head.
