The purple banners that appear for people when a base character is released are usually for those customers that already have so many Pro bundles, in the past discounts have varied depending on how many bundles were owned.
Which is pretty bizarre, given that the last two base figure releases were also heavily spy themed.
That makes sense, and is pretty smart as it encourages people to collect pro bundles with the promise of additional benefits on days like today. I've only bought one or two Pro bundles because £££ and I like being able to afford things like bread and electricity (I know, I'm so parochial) so if that is also the case with others who aren't receiving the banner, it seems likely to be the key in this scenario too :)
Which, in my case, is almost all of them. Mebbe I'll raise a ticket. Love the character though.
It's 15 from 5 categories so 75$ in total. With the banner is 30 from 5 categories so total of 150$. Much better than the 75.
The extra freebies are for already having a lot of pro bundles. Doesn't say what the exact number is.
The 50% off DO sale that is running concurrently would seem to be stacking with the Pro Bundle sale, and is no doubt helping how much stuff we can stuff into our carts. Not to mention the extra 10% off for PC+ members from the 'Honorary PC+ offer'.
So it seems you can get a lot out of that $30 of 'freebies' in each category, for those that do have the 'double categories' offer. Just spent the last couple of hours playing cart Jenga, trying to figure out which stuff I want this time around. Kinda surprised I had so many options still, but I get less excited about pose packs as I have a lot of those already, so I actually spent MORE time agonizing over which pose packs were most interesting to me ATM...
Not seeing any reason to wait for any 'last minute flash sale' offers today, so I'll probably just pull the trigger on my cart and get it over with. I'm actually pretty excited to play around with Dasan 8 to see how close I can dial him in to match Wes Studi, etc. a bit more closely. I already took a stab at Wes earlier with another G8M Pro character, so this should be interesting...
I agree that the clothing selection in this bundle is a bit odd, but odd is good sometimes...
Easily the most interesting male character for a while in my opinion.
Here's a quick & dirty render straight out of the box.
"Great" /s
* I did not get $10 gift card because i had been spending money in the store.
* Now i don't get the double discounts because i don't spend enough??
This do not encourage me to spend more.
With $30 off i would have consider this deal because that would get me an additional pro pack for arround$12. But i'm not paying $27 on top of Dasan.
For this particular banner, yes.
To start, I had processed my order after folks had posted there was a purple banner, but it had not yet appeared for me, does now though. But, except for two categories, I think I would have trouble having $15.00 additional worth of products I want for free and go through the hassel of bothering Customer Service. Especially as I think I have to submit two reports for products already.
I tried to give Duncan Hair an honest go. I tried all the adjustment morphs and well, the hairline has something going on, and yeah, the hair looks like anime ones from Genesis or Gen 4 era hairs. The other report will be for the dForce Street Blade Outfit. The texture set shown on its promo page, did not come with it. Just single colors, for different pieces. I used the texture add-on for this render. I also checked in the Content Library, no good. Loaded by DIM.
Love Dasan 8.

$42.71, Plat Club, 3+ add-ons, and whatever the required number of previous G8 bundles is.
The freebies aren't a big draw any more since disk space is becoming an issue, and I don't use most of what I've got. But, yeah, some of the recent bundles came in at a lower price than that with the add-ons.
same old skin resource? rinse, repeat

While it's true that someone could have started using Daz only a week ago and be so well off financially that they've already bought tons of pro bundles, I think Daz are taking the POV that people who own lots of pro bundles are in large long-time loyal users so it's a reward for their massive investment in Daz over the years... and the $10 gift card during MM I think was to help people who hadn't spent at all, perhaps due to money issues, so they could join in on the fun with everyone else...
Don't get me wrong, I'm in the same boat as you in not qualifying for either offer as well -- I'm a few months into being a Daz user and spending a lot to build my library -- so I get it's frustrating when you are giving A LOT of money to Daz at the moment but not qualifying for the bonus offers, but I still think these offers are fair overall. Daz could make more money by extending them to users like us as well, but perhaps the fact they'd rather give something special back to longer term Dazers is a good thing! And our day will come, as they say! :)
LOL, I didn't notice that hair! I makes him look like the Road Runner!
No. And god forbid. The Daz 3D coats for men are always too short, and the sleeves, too—often by two or three or four "inches" in the real world! There are so many traditional and standardized guides available all over the web about how to do it right that it's downright weird how this persists.
I like him. Definitely has a James Coburn thing going on in some of those promo pics.
Well, two customer support reports submitted.
My first pro bundle was Lee 7 and cost me the full $135.00 because I hadn't joined PC+ yet, nor did I have a clue about the sales that happened around Daz. Add to that, it took me months to work up my courage to click on the forums after a couple of horific experiences on other sites (not art ones).
But, I am also penalized now because I love to buy right away, have the luxury of income, and then I see others come along months later scoop up great bargains or free sets of the G8 pro bundles. There is a balancing one way or the other.
I became a Dazaholic over the years. Sigh.
Maybe I'm interested by Edan and Street Blade Outfit. I need to see what addons will be released tomorrow.
There's a thread for that, well if you are a PC+ member at least...

I started with Daz in November but started buying in December.
In January or February I already got a purple banner for pro bundles. It's not a matter of how long you have been a customer, it's more of how many pro bundles you have/buy.
As a new customer I found that the pro bundles with good discounts (during december/january they were around 20-25$) were a good way to build a nice foundation for content.
Since then I still buy most pro bundles, even if I don't like them too much becuase of the offers that come with them.
My biggest problem is that I buy a lot of stuff that I don't get to use yet as there's only so many stuff you can try in a day and buying a lot of cheap stuff makes it that you have more than you can handle.
I am trying to say no though and since this bundle only has the main Dasan and 2 pieces of clothing that I like maybe I will pass on him. (Here's hoping) I need to learn to say no more to buying stuff.
Sci-Fi Retro Space Suit has no promo from the rear, can only assume the degree of decrackify
all the baby name sites say Dasan is a native american name... and I think he does have some of that look aorund the eyes and nose
to me he looks like the bad guy in the mummy. which was the mummy. after he fleshed
Sounds like you've shopped smart then @alex86fire :) Having joined at a similar time to you, I've only bought one or two bundles because the prices I've seen until recently have always made my eyes water! I was going to buy Dasan (very interesting about the name, Lyrra Madril!) but I'm still not totally sure... but this has certainly demonstrated the benefit of picking up pro bundles for extra benefits down the road if nothing else.
Hubby and I were watching Ghost Rider 2 last night. When I saw Dasan, my first thought was how much his face looked like Ciarán Hinds: Google image results here.
$75 is five categories with $15 of stuff in each. With the banner you now get (up to) $150 of free items, across the five categories.
