    I can think of a couple of reason, for some finaces at the moment are really really tight and may be for a while, also PC members aren't getting any incentives to buy now the PC DO discount is availble to all - this puts me off buying.

    But yeah, the fact that Genesis 8 has been allowed to play out as long as it has does help the Genesis 8 gene pool diversity a bit.  We've had Polynesians (Kimo 8/Kalea 8), Indian characters (Sanjay 8/Kala 8), a few different African and Asian characters, and of course a whole boatload of Caucasians...

    We could use a few more stylized characters though.  Sakura, Keiko, Dwayne, etc. are part of a still rather small subset of Genesis 8..

    Kimo and Kalea were G7, and Keiko was G6, so they’re not really contributing to the G8 gene pool, converters notwithstanding. 

    My bad.  They came up in my Genesis 8 Pro Bundle search.  Just goes to show how useless the store search function is sometimes... it's much better than the forum search anyways...

    I grabbed both during a G8 pro bundle sale, no doubt as bonus pro bundles, so they were 'new' to me anyways!

    I know there was a countepart to Sakura 8 though... who was I thinking of (not Aiko 8).  Kanade 8 probably.  She's closer to Aiko than Sakura in design, but her pro bundle leans more to gaming and anime themes.

    One good thing came out of this post.  I just noticed that the Kanade 8 Pro Bundle was not installed on my offline computer, even though I bought her and her goodies last summer... rectifying that now!

    Actually I like him over Dain 8 the reason is he looks like one of us old bike riding vets/ "old guys" who's been around the block but could still open a can of whoop- butt needed. I think him and Sydney make a good couple but of course this is my age group...we ain't dead yet LOL! He's on my list.

    A lot of the characters are matching pairs. Leroy and Nida, Jonathan and Josephene, Kanade and Yuzuru, Deigo and Gabriela, Elios and Ellithia, Sanjay and Kala, Mr Woo and Mrs Chow, Ollie and Edie, Floyd and Mabel, Monique and Darius, Victoria and Michael, etc...it's not like they're only making young girls and old men.

    Also, you've got characters like Deigo, Silas, Yuzuru, Sanjay, Nix, Lee, The Brute, Landon, a pretty diverse cast of male characters who aren't old.

    If you don't mind me asking, what exactly would you consider an "interesting" male character?

    Apparently there is a lack of Teen males. I saw more than one person complain about this.

    In my mind there's nothing special about a teen and there are already a few teen males that are great, without the need for a DO character for it, but that is just my preference. I have 0 interest in a teen male.

     

    Well, I can agree with that. Just look at the new releases. 2 MORE Teens for G8F. 0 for Males overall. I don't know why that is, but apparently they don't sell. The only reason why I'd wanna buy a teen male is for the skin texture, and morph it further. I just don't think it's fair to have that more females... But on the other side, I understand PAs, why would they spend their time creating something and risk not selling enough.

    If there was a very interesting teen male maybe I could be interested in him but the previous generation teens were so generic and bland that I would not be.

    I think there are so many other interesting types of characters we don't have yet that caucasian teen male is not one I would be interested in. For example Dasan 8 is very interesting, he looks like he has a back story to him. 

    Of course this is only my opinion. If there are enough people interested in a teen male, why not have a pro bundle for that.

    Another thing I would want to mention though is that lately I see a pattern for pairs of characters being released: CJ and Dain, Leroy and Nida, Jonathan and Josephine. Because of that I would expect a pair to Dasan to be released before anything else.

    Maybe the chance for the teen male was missed after Raven of Josie. 

    Male-M3dia made some G8 male teens that are perfectly good and I think better than something Daz would have come out with to be honest. The downside is that they are only shapes with no textures.

    Just a note.

    The Eye of the Tiger sale seems to be stacking with the Dasan 8 sale for older Daz Originals that are also in today's sale.  I just noticed this with the Dark Archer poses.  I passed on these yesterday, when they had a higher price, but as they are from one of the PA's in the Tiger sale, well they have a lower price now.

    So, for the DO's that are in the Tiger sale at least, you might get a bit more mileage out of the $5-$30 off each category, depending on how many prereq items you buy and if you have the purple banner in play or not.

    SOMEHOW all of the stuff I picked yesterday as my bonus items ended up NOT being from the PA's in today's sale, which since I had 26 'bonus' DO items in my cart is surprising, but my cart might have looked a bit different if the lower prices on a few items had been in play.  Can't win for losing with Daz sales sometimes, you never know what the next day might bring.  The Daz sales team could just as easily have cut the Dasan 8 sale short...

    I was already feeling good about my picks yesterday, so it's all good I guess, but I'm sure a few of you that grabbed the bundle offer yesterday may have picked a couple of 'bonus' DO items from PAs in the Tiger sale today.  Might not be worth a CS ticket of course, but that's up to you.

    But for those that waited... yeah more power to you today!  Go discount stacking!

    On the upside, there are some REALLY good deals on a few DO items today - I'm seeing 82% off on a few of them... which might be interesting if you haven't used all of your Save 6 PC+ coupons yet!

    To be honest, I like Dasan (agree that he looks like Wes Studi), plus one of the hairs, one of the characters and most of the clothes in the Pro Bundle, and the addon deals seem generous to me. Still dealing with some unexpected household expenses, so I'm not sure whether to pull the trigger.

    After seeing your response, Laurie, I decided to go ahead and post what I was not going to post:

    According to Daz representatives from the past, young males sell poorly, even to the point that Tween Ryan 7 was virtually given away for free as a new release. (Perhaps marketing figured, "We're gonna lose money anyway; so, let's buy some customer goodwill instead").

    Also, Lucas 8 is late teen to early twenties, and he is probably one of the least popular G8 Core figures, which solidified Daz's original contention (although his orange, waxy, featureless skin and lack of morph personality may be more of a factor in low sales than his age and gender). BTW, Altern8 fixes Lucas 8's skin very nicely.

    Although young male is the character category that is least interesting to me, I still need them for scene fillers. This past weekend I was finally able to pick up some wishlisted young males at a price befitting their value to me---though not their high quality: Justin, Josh, Jeremy, & Nick. Them, along with Male-M3dia's unparalleled male teen morph packs (these morphs easily rival Core figure quality in detail and distinctiveness) and skins like Nix 8 and Gage (as well as Genesis 8 UV Swap to use female skins) make it possible to field an entire teen male sports team as well as their opponents with no repetition.

    Finally finished putting my cart together and placed the order. Shopping for a sale like this really sucks on my phone, both because I can’t filter by wishlist and because I can’t hop between tabs as easily.

    I guess one can't combine the Dasan freebie offer (the 75 dollars) with the Easter Basket flash sale, if one has more than 3 items from the Basket category? It says "coupon not valid" and the "3 or fewer" probably means no more than 3 items in cart from the category.

    I believe Lucas's poor sale performance isn't so much due to him being young and Male ... but that he wasn't such a convincing character. Mousso's new Asher is also young and Male and seems to perform well.

    I bought the pro pack because he is unique. I see Christoph Waltz and Tommy Lee Jones (not this render. LOL.) 

    The clothes are pretty good. The hair - not so much. The frieebies made it worth it for me.

    Congrats, I am still struggling to decide on some items. It would be so much easier if we could pick more from people and wearables.

    It's weird we have to pick the same amount of stuff from animations and poses as from people and wearables. Would have been better if it was people and poses for one and wearables for another, or all combined for double the amount.

    Congrats, I am still struggling to decide on some items. It would be so much easier if we could pick more from people and wearables.

    It's weird we have to pick the same amount of stuff from animations and poses as from people and wearables. Would have been better if it was people and poses for one and wearables for another, or all combined for double the amount.

    A lot of the characters are matching pairs. Leroy and Nida, Jonathan and Josephene, Kanade and Yuzuru, Deigo and Gabriela, Elios and Ellithia, Sanjay and Kala, Mr Woo and Mrs Chow, Ollie and Edie, Floyd and Mabel, Monique and Darius, Victoria and Michael, etc...it's not like they're only making young girls and old men.

    Also, you've got characters like Deigo, Silas, Yuzuru, Sanjay, Nix, Lee, The Brute, Landon, a pretty diverse cast of male characters who aren't old.

    If you don't mind me asking, what exactly would you consider an "interesting" male character?

    Apparently there is a lack of Teen males. I saw more than one person complain about this.

    In my mind there's nothing special about a teen and there are already a few teen males that are great, without the need for a DO character for it, but that is just my preference. I have 0 interest in a teen male.

     

    Well, I can agree with that. Just look at the new releases. 2 MORE Teens for G8F. 0 for Males overall. I don't know why that is, but apparently they don't sell. The only reason why I'd wanna buy a teen male is for the skin texture, and morph it further. I just don't think it's fair to have that more females... But on the other side, I understand PAs, why would they spend their time creating something and risk not selling enough.

    If there was a very interesting teen male maybe I could be interested in him but the previous generation teens were so generic and bland that I would not be.

    I think there are so many other interesting types of characters we don't have yet that caucasian teen male is not one I would be interested in. For example Dasan 8 is very interesting, he looks like he has a back story to him. 

    Of course this is only my opinion. If there are enough people interested in a teen male, why not have a pro bundle for that.

    Another thing I would want to mention though is that lately I see a pattern for pairs of characters being released: CJ and Dain, Leroy and Nida, Jonathan and Josephine. Because of that I would expect a pair to Dasan to be released before anything else.

    Maybe the chance for the teen male was missed after Raven of Josie. 

    Male-M3dia made some G8 male teens that are perfectly good and I think better than something Daz would have come out with to be honest. The downside is that they are only shapes with no textures.

    After seeing your response, Laurie, I decided to go ahead and post what I was not going to post:

    According to Daz representatives from the past, young males sell poorly, even to the point that Tween Ryan 7 was virtually given away for free as a new release. (Perhaps marketing figured, "We're gonna lose money anyway; so, let's buy some customer goodwill instead").

    Also, Lucas 8 is late teen to early twenties, and he is probably one of the least popular G8 Core figures, which solidified Daz's original contention (although his orange, waxy, featureless skin and lack of morph personality may be more of a factor in low sales than his age and gender). BTW, Altern8 fixes Lucas 8's skin very nicely.

    Although young male is the character category that is least interesting to me, I still need them for scene fillers. This past weekend I was finally able to pick up some wishlisted young males at a price befitting their value to me---though not their high quality: Justin, Josh, Jeremy, & Nick. Them, along with Male-M3dia's unparalleled male teen morph packs (these morphs easily rival Core figure quality in detail and distinctiveness) and skins like Nix 8 and Gage (as well as Genesis 8 UV Swap to use female skins) make it possible to field an entire teen male sports team as well as their opponents with no repetition.

     

    I believe Lucas's poor sale performance isn't so much due to him being young and Male ... but that he wasn't such a convincing character. Mousso's new Asher is also young and Male and seems to perform well.

    I think that most young males are bland. They lack personality or any distinct features and are just generic. Asher is one to break out of that pattern, that is why he is so well received.

    I could totally get behind a young male if he has a look that said something.

    Because men are allowed to have character. Women must simply be beautiful.
