    I find, nine times out of ten, setting transmitted color to a pale pink makes a world of difference.

    I like the character a lot. Here is a straight out of the box render - with the hd add on details on. The hair is the excellent https://www.daz3d.com/sp-hair-004-for-genesis-3-and-8-males hair from Sarah Payne - one of my favourite hair asset artists. Took about 30 minutes to render. Also great render @divamakeup - I have not seen you around for awhile The outfit is the street blade outfit minus the "I dare you not to keep your social distancing" blades.

    Awww Thank you! I appreciate the sweet comment! :) I don't remember the exact settings I used, as I played around with it a bit before I settled on a combination I liked the best. I think maybe "Monique 8 - No Maps" with "Translucency C", or maybe try "Lucas 8 A - No Maps", "Translucency C", and drop the Normal Map and Bump Map strength to 1.

    As for more Altern8 presets, I'm not sure when that will be. It's definitely something I want to release, but I've been reworking the settings and have something new I'm trying. Once I get the bugs worked out it's something I hope to release. :)

    One thing I know for sureabout Altern8: If your textures have any seams whatsoever, they WILL be found.

    my thinking might be the result of wine kicking in after work, but i realized the bundle looks like a mix between james bond type items as mentioned with some Elton John type clothes thrown in with the retro space suit and the moonage outfit, lol, i could see the retro space suit working good for a mars attack type character, so now we just need one of those for Genesis 8 Male

    I like the character, but I don't feel his bundle contents fit him at all.

    They're almost glaringly mismatched. He looks like the kind of figure who should come with suits and uniforms. He reminds me of the Tommy Lee Jones and Edward James Olmos type.

    The renders I posted up above are attached to a character I'm currently working on, Aleksandr. I'm currently rendering one of the female characters.

    Riggs is looking pretty close, though...

    It's gonna be just the character, HD and Q Suit for me. I'm done buying bundles with stuff I will never use. I dislike the hair and the characters in this one and all but that one outfit. No sense spending money on stuff I'm never even going to install, much less use.

    Use the refund system. If you pick up a pro bundle that you already have chunks of, they have in the past issued at least partial credits for the bits you already own. I did this for the Growing Up morphs a couple of years ago, and they refunded part or all of the critter I had in favor of the entire bundle.

    As I understand, refunds are generally only allowed within 30 days of purchase, but I may be misunerstanding the policy.

    Also, of late Daz has been including 'may not be used to repurchase items at a lower price' or somesuch language in their sales.

    It's a thought though.  Has anyone else tried getting partial credits recently? 

    If this partial refund thing is an 'unwritten' policy, they really SHOULD just implement this into the backend for the store, so that CS doesn't have to deal with this extra workload.

    Anyways, we probably should keep this thread more focused on Dasan 8.  I grabbed him, but haven't downloaded him as of yet.  I do manual downloads, since my rendering computer has been physically separated from the intenet (my choice/anti-hacking measure) for well over a year now.  Thanks to everyone that has been sharing their Dasan 8 related renders so far!

    Depends on what you mean by 'base character'.  We've had a number of other characters along these lines over the years.

    Thinking specifically of Cheyenne for V4/M4, and more recently Dae for G8M sorta kinda, Tennessee for G8M specifically,  Tennessee is rather well done to boot.

    'Pro bundle 8' characters by definition are based on the G8F/M as well, and we do have characters based on characters for G8M, etc. that aren't 'Pro bundle' characters, some of which do have their own bundles, just not 'Pro' bundles, so really this is a silly distinction when you think about it.

    But yeah, the fact that Genesis 8 has been allowed to play out as long as it has does help the Genesis 8 gene pool diversity a bit.  We've had Polynesians (Kimo 8/Kalea 8), Indian characters (Sanjay 8/Kala 8), a few different African and Asian characters, and of course a whole boatload of Caucasians...

    We could use a few more stylized characters though.  Sakura, Keiko, Dwayne, etc. are part of a still rather small subset of Genesis 8...

    Anyways, here's to hoping that we get a female counterpart for Dasan!

    Dasan is a nicely done character with a lot of detail. Here is the HD version. I like all the wrinkles in his hands, and veins in his limbs. His face is great as well.

    A lot of the characters are matching pairs. Leroy and Nida, Jonathan and Josephene, Kanade and Yuzuru, Deigo and Gabriela, Elios and Ellithia, Sanjay and Kala, Mr Woo and Mrs Chow, Ollie and Edie, Floyd and Mabel, Monique and Darius, Victoria and Michael, etc...it's not like they're only making young girls and old men.

    Also, you've got characters like Deigo, Silas, Yuzuru, Sanjay, Nix, Lee, The Brute, Landon, a pretty diverse cast of male characters who aren't old.

    If you don't mind me asking, what exactly would you consider an "interesting" male character?

    Apparently there is a lack of Teen males. I saw more than one person complain about this.

    In my mind there's nothing special about a teen and there are already a few teen males that are great, without the need for a DO character for it, but that is just my preference. I have 0 interest in a teen male.

    Well, I can agree with that. Just look at the new releases. 2 MORE Teens for G8F. 0 for Males overall. I don't know why that is, but apparently they don't sell. The only reason why I'd wanna buy a teen male is for the skin texture, and morph it further. I just don't think it's fair to have that more females... But on the other side, I understand PAs, why would they spend their time creating something and risk not selling enough.

    If there was a very interesting teen male maybe I could be interested in him but the previous generation teens were so generic and bland that I would not be.

    I think there are so many other interesting types of characters we don't have yet that caucasian teen male is not one I would be interested in. For example Dasan 8 is very interesting, he looks like he has a back story to him. 

    Of course this is only my opinion. If there are enough people interested in a teen male, why not have a pro bundle for that.

    Another thing I would want to mention though is that lately I see a pattern for pairs of characters being released: CJ and Dain, Leroy and Nida, Jonathan and Josephine. Because of that I would expect a pair to Dasan to be released before anything else.

    Maybe the chance for the teen male was missed after Raven of Josie.

    Kimo and Kalea were G7, and Keiko was G6, so they’re not really contributing to the G8 gene pool, converters notwithstanding.
