My initial thought is that he's the love child of Vin Diesel and Tommy Lee Joes. No, don't even think about how that would be possible. Really surprised to see the SciFi retro suit as I knew the female version was coming but it's not out yet. The rest of the clothes are an odd batch. Q suit will be very useful, and probably the blade outift. The rest and the hairs... I don't know. what Duncan hair is supposed to be, but someone mentioned Ruby Rod earlier and I think the PAs may very well have been watching the Fifth Element, but not while they were completely sober.
No purple bar offer yet either. Definitely a "I'll have to think on this one."
Yes on non new, Dasan is new there's no extra incentive for me to buy him especially considering how the bonus $75 DO content is structured.
The first reference I thought of with Dasan was also Tommy Lee Jones... and when I looked at the pro bundle with the zany bright yellow suit, wavy purple hair and moonage outfit it kicked up my childhood memories of Tommy Lee Jones as Two Face in Batman Forever haha... which I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not!!
BUT now it's been mentioned, in some of the other promos I definitely do see Wes Studi... and that makes Dasan somewhat more appealing to me because Wes Studi is a man with a most EXCELLENT face :)
But, overall, I'm not sure... the skin textures look really stunning and he is quite versatile (as Tommy Lee Jones -> Wes Studi suggests!) but I'm not sure if he's really hitting the "different" button for me considering we just got Jonathan 8 who was also a 40s + white male...
Also, Propschick is amazing but the textures on the Duncan Hair don't look quite at her fantastic standard in the promos... maybe bad promos? Strange!
I guess I'm on the fence so it'll be really interesting to see people's renders :)
To be blunt, I don't feel the past couple of G8M pro bundles have been that strong or appealing. Dain especially felt rushed and unfinished. Jonathan was the best of the recent releases. And as I mentioned before, we're becoming over-saturated with older characters, with nothing in the younger end of the spectrum. However, in Dasan's defence, it's great to see a male who isn't roided out to the point of popping.
I'm in love with Riggs, but I don't need the rest.

Still doesn't feel like *that* much of an incentive to PC+ members when you consider the cost of membership - which non PC+ members are currently getting for free.
I totally agree on the structuring of the bonus DO content. I have one category with loads of items to pick from but then one category that's almost empty! So that sort of minimises the value of buying in today for me personally, which wouldn't be the case if it was the usual single DO category
we are? I thought that was a one off deal last month, have not seen any banners this month saying that nor is there any messages and I used my $6 off $18 coupon on the 1st ans says used, still got my $6 off DO to use

We also get 10% off non-DO items with a coupn code but this doesn't help at all with buying this bundle as none of it fits here. Also, a question about this, once the offer expires, are the extra coupons going to still be available (until the ned of the month) or are we back to one coupon use so we should use them now?
That's not as effective an argument as it might be considering that the Platinum Perks doesn't apply to the bundles or new products themselves, not to mention that a lot of us used the three runs of the PC+ coupon when it was discovered that it worked three times, since that became effective before it was announced that the sale was going to continue... and even if we still had them, there's the usual problem with only getting partial credit for the coupons when other discounting is going on. And that's before we go into the problem that the some of the free categories are looking pretty anemic at this point. I'm literally looking at nothing but Poser-only products and a handful of 3DL shaders under resources and down to mods for cute animals I'll never use under animals. Big incentives to buy those are not.

$46.29 is relatively steep for a new Pro Bundle, that's for sure, but he's a really great character.
Judging from the Pro Bundle contents, Dasan is evidently being marketed as effeminate, what with CDI's poses and expressions, the loud colours of the Q Suit, the flaming MoonAge Outfit, and the inexplicable Duncan Hair.
Base is good.
About the rest: I won't judge till I don't see pics about the mesh and how they behave.
Don't know if I'd label it 'bad', as that's very subjective. However I feel it certainly looks more 'Anime' than super realistic, if that makes sense?
That Duncan Hair feels a bit unpolished. I wonder if it would look better with different textures.
The reason I'd want an "official" teen male is because of the higher quality skin without the five o'clock shadow or chest hair. Right now, if I wanted to, I can easily make a younger character with available morphs, but I'd have to manually edit a skin with the Growing Up G3M resource for it to be usable in this case.
As for Dasan, he looks like something I can make with the morphs I have. Still, I think he looks great. The only outfit I like is that weird scifi one because it looks very kitbashable to me.
The um... influence of Flash Gordon is quite clear, but I can't imagine Emperor Ming looking anywhere near that rough. Nor Flash for that matter. And the Duncan Hair is like did we go back to the v3 days and nobody told me. But my thoughts mean nothing as I'm buying nothing, saving for food and TP.
Does anyone else think that Dassan and Jonathan's eyes are too close together or is it just me?
yeah, for an animie/toons the hair would be okay. but Dason is no animie/toon set.
Regarding "purple banner". I don't have a banner but with the Pro bundle + three add-ons I'm getting $30 worth free from each of the freebie categories. There's previously been banners doubling the freebie offers so I'm guessing that's the case today too. Just seems like the banner itself has been stuck in quarantine...
My feeling with these outfit-plus-textures is that they pick the least appealing texture for the bundles, and then put the better ones in the texture packs.
Anyway, there's a lot of stuff I on my wishlist I could get free, but I really don't like more than Dasan, the Q Suit and Noburu. Maybe the Wave Hair could be fun, too.

The look feels like an over-the-top 60's Bond villian (*cough* Austin Powers *cough*)...like Dr. Evil's...evil twin brother...or Goldmember or something, lol. Not a single item I'm interested in here.
Well now that's interesting. I haven't started on my cart building as of yet, as I was waiting to see what the day might bring, but now I'm curious. Maybe it's an email thing?

I came back here after loading my cart. The coupon for PC+ folks is a discount on non-Daz Originals. Everything in my cart is Daz Originals. And it excludes new releases. I did look again at the MoonAge outfit texture which I was going to pass on. My initial reaction to the main promos is of a over-the-hill singer in a 1970's lounge suit trying to reboot his career at a old-folks home. But, if used with the textures on one of the anime characters it can be a younger star, on stage singing to a crowd of girls going crazy.
I agree the free selections have been picked over by me in the past, but, I have found many medical items I had passed on in the past, I want now. I think only 'Animals and Creatures' I struck out on. I have to go back and give it another scan.
I first saw the promo on my iPhone screen and my first impression was of a middle-age Asian male. But on my iMac screen, I agree with the Wes Studi look. So it seems we have a middle-aged Native American, as he is a Cherokee American.
