As the title says, we have a new DO character release with a new pro Bundle: https://www.daz3d.com/amazing-dasan-8.
What are your thoughts?
If anyone pulls the trigger on him and/or the whole bundle share your renders please.
The way I see him is he looks great, his skin and details look very good for that older white male (but not too old).
Unfortunately a lot of the rest of the bundle looks to me like Dain's bundle: rushed and not as high quality as I would like in a pro bundle.

It is not a good time to buy any major character at this point! Wrong timing!
Were they going for Tommy Lee Jones?
The Q Suit isn't totally amazing, but it's not bad. And it's a suit. For men. Flaps are a bit flappy and the lapels are a bit floaty, but maybe a little mesh grabbing?
Overall the skin texture looks great on the face details. One issue I have is that the skin tone on the legs look signifigantly darker than the upper body and face. I noticed this with the Jospehene 8 skin as well.
I like the look of the character, but will only buy the base and the HD Add-on. There's very little in the bundle that interests me, and for the few things that do, I can wait. Also, the cost in buying the pro bundle for the 'free' items make it not worth it when there's very little left in those sections that I want.
I didn't get Tommy Lee Jones but when I looked at the HD Add-on, the lines on the face, I immediately thought Wes Studi.

Not interested at all in the character but do like the retro sci-fi suit that could possibly be auto fitted to a female.
I like Dasan 8 and particularly Riggs and also the Wave Hair. Wishlisted for now.
Some definite close similarities there...
Dasan 8 IS Da San! This is an inspired character, all the way---to me. He's Yakuza that has diversified and now has multi-trillions of ¥ in legitimate holdings. Or you could make him a version of Tommy Lee Jones or Wes Studi, but you doesn't have to call him Da San.

Thanks for listening, hearing, and responding to my bugging for a decent-fitting men's suit with all the extras, morphs, separate open/closed jacket meshes, and a different tie. Bravo! I'd buy it twice if it would help. (Now I just need some crotch creases for the pants; ikr, us people). @Sevrin, the pocket flaps can be hidden.
I'm not going to say anything about the hairs or the Retro Spacesuit or the Ziggy Stardust outfit. But the Street Blade jacket looks like it fits well, and retrodevil, I mean, Moonscape and sade did some nice looking textures for it. Marcius' Noburu is really cool-looking. I'd like to see more realistic characters from Marcius, judging from this. I was hoping for a male, and Daz has made me very happy!
I don't know what gives you that idea, but looking at the PAs involved there's no doubt the quality is much higher than Dain's stuff.
I rather like the characters, and the Q suit (but then I usually like Mada's clothes). The rest is not really something I see myself using.
So, has anyone seen a purple banner or other offer related to this pro bundle yet, other than on the sales page of course?

I don't understand his packaging at all though and most of the items and add-ons seem uninspired. Only Noburo is intriguing to me.

Interesting character but the final price is a bit too expensive since there are no extra reductions for people who own many or almost all the Genesis male/female shapes.

To me, Dasan 8 looks like a cross between Sir Christopher Lee and Wes Studi. Very interesting character!
The Bundles are not quite to my taste. The Q Suit is certainly very good - but why on earth do they always make the jackets so short? At least in Europe a correct jacket always covers the buttocks (which also results in better proportions). I would never send an older man like D. out in a short jacket, but maybe it's different in the USA.
I think they make the jackets shorter to avoid the crotch triangulation that usually happens when they are longer. But Fit Control has a morph where the jackets can be lengthened. And they got the rest of the jacket right (though I still have to see if I can make the lapel lie down like I'd prefer). But there are no morphs to fix the shoulders, lapels, and collars of all the previous poorly made jackets.
Also thrown in a little Edward James Almos in there. its for sure a mix. Interesting.
I know people here are obsessed with over the top asymetry for "realism", but I can't help but look at him and think. "o_O"
He does look rather questioning.
Upon a closer look, the quality does seem higher. I think it was a combinationn of lack of promo pictures and the not so good looking, in my opinion spacesuit and moonage outfit. But I think they are just designed to lkook like that and you either like the idea behind them or not, and not the quality that is lacking there.
I also don't like the look of the textures for https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-street-blade-outfit-for-genesis-8-males, they seem more like painted stuff than real textures but I belive https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-street-blade-outfit-textures looks really good.
I am a big fan of the pro bundles and I try to buy most of them but I can't find enough interesting stuff in this one to justify the purchase, especially with suck a lucklustre offer attached to it. Maybe we get some combo offer in the days to come to sway me over.
Don't see the point of this bundle at all to be honest. And I own most of the Male pro bundles (yes, even Dain lol) Dasan is just a mix of Floyd, Ollie and Dain in my opinion, and the included items in the pro bundle are pretty meh tbh.
What we're seriously missing in the G8M range is younger characters - late teens specifically. Charlotte 8 needs a brother imho!

But, I agree, younger characters, maybe late teens (late high school/early uni types) and make more ethnic (besides the usual). I'd also like to see more polynesians, mongolians, maybe berber type, middle eastern, south american, native america.

I can think of a couple of reason, for some finaces at the moment are really really tight and may be for a while, also PC members aren't getting any incentives to buy now the PC DO discount is availble to all - this puts me off buying.
No purple banner (yet?), and most of the bundle isn't that interesting. May consider the base character as his face is interesting and not the usual stereotype young handsome male, but the Pro and Starter bundles just don't excite me. Just my opinion.
PC members are getting an extra 10% on non-new items, plus the coupon can be used 3 times.
