Hmmmmm.... you want to get hoing with Christmas spirit. I think I'll pass on participating in that one. (couldn't resist Chohole LOL)
Just a few things:
A: Thanks to all the PA's who has made the Holiday Freebies. The quality of the products are top notch and they are all greatly appreciated.
B: I'm not a complete idiot. I know New Releases can't be free, and I'm not trying to take advantage of a glithc for some "free" stuff. Unless it's a new male character, then I'll fight tooth and nail.

C: IF someone decides to take this further, "a glitch we've known about for years, but haven't warned everyone about", won't hold up. You will need to put in a diclaimer, even if it's in your Terms of Service, that prices may be wrong during transition periods. Everyone always just tick the "I have read the Terms of Service" button and moves on.
D: I've spent over ZAR15 000.00 here in the past 3-4 weeks, which means I'll be starving for the second half of January, thanks to all of you wonderful sales the pas few weeks. And trust me, I'll starve for the whole of January if there's something else I want. I love supporting the PA's. Now, where's that 90% off glitch someone was talking about?

E: Remember, I'm the one that started the "DAZ is sexist" thread which prompted KnittingMommy to start the Raining Men contest. I'm like Eminem, if you see me, expect a little controversy.
I know I haven't been on here a lot the past 2-3 years due to work, but I still love the DAZ community.
people asleep or at work at the time of the glitchy changeover honestly can be blissfully unaware and not every thread on the topic stays on the first page for long so even regular forum frequenters can miss them,
the ones not visiting the forum would presumably be pestering customer service so they should well and truely be aware of the problem.
I certainly don't judge people for not knowing or think them idiots, it's not user error in this case on the customers behalf.
Would it not make LOADS of sense for the changeover to be at DAZ MIDDAY instead?
yes it would since it has a worldwide customer base and that is when staff are at their computer desks, I can only presume the biggest volume of sales is to Americans and often during their lunchbreaks
Daz midnight is also pretty early for most of Europe and Africa, leaving plenty of the day for prices to settle down. Obviously it's more of an issue for those in Australasia and East or Central Asia.
I was just about to post something in this vein. Glitches can work in your favour.
And in the few cases where I've been overcharged I was always refunded the difference.
Folks need to be gracious about the times when a harmless glitch is just that: a harmless glitch.
And those claiming that it's easy to change the entire store software - especially if said store is your main source of income - are being ridiculous.
To each their own, obviously. In my country we don't have this kind of business culture. It appears totally alien to me. So I don't do business with companies that can't fix their own online shop. What appears ridiculous to me is that, on top of it all, we should even be grateful that we can participate in this lottery. In my world business is built upon trust.
I do know if I stumbled upon this as a new person it would make me question the legitimacy of the site
I have been to sites not 3D related but digital, seen so called free stuff but when I signed up and tried to put in cart and buy it, it wasn't, I noped out of those sites pretty fast.
When I first stumbled upon DAZ years ago, the free stuff thing (particularly Bryce which I was looking to buy) made me very interested and I tried to sign up but the site was very glitchy at the time and kept failing to complete registration for me... I actually thought DAZ was a scam, but several month or possibly a year later, I came across a 3D magazine that mentioned DAZ and how cool it was, so I figured I'd try it again and that time it sorta worked... there was some promo thing that I couldn't get though I tried several times and I couldn't seem to make the gallery work or register for the Art Zone, but I decided to to stick with it and eventually stuff seemed to work at the site...
That having been said, over the years I've suggested to several people to check out DAZ... of those to whom I've talked to about it later, at least five said they had problems with the site and lost interest and one actually thought it fishy because of confusing/contradictory advertisements... almost everyone that I talked to seemed to dislike the way sales were presented.
These were not 90 year old grandpas who were technologically impaired, these were folks who were artistic, familiar with graphic arts and experienced computer users.
Not connected to the confusing sales or buggy issues, one person was actually (possibly) slightly offended that I suggested the site, because it was "full of almost naked female images"... after she said that I went back and looked at the main shop page and geez, it probably was one of the worst times for someone not familiar with DAZ to have visited because almost everything on the first few pages was Skimpwear or new female figures and probably would not have given a good portrayal of what the site was about.
That and the other people's reactions or experiences made me a little embarrassed and from then on I don't really suggest it to anyone... I'll mention it, say what it's about, but don't offer links, suggest it, or talk about it... if the idea seems interesting to them, they can look it up on their own.
For me DAZ is what it is and I've come to expect confusing sales, glitches and things that "could be done better"... after all these years I know it won't really change and I have to deal with it as it is if I'm going to enjoy it.
we used to have to tell a friend ...
Ahem
corrected that for you
A small reminder It's Raining Men
Oops! Sorry. I still have a few blond hairs,on my head and they sometimes kick in.
I know, but that was the original
Yeah, that was part of the agreement when you installed DAZ Studio... "I agree to tell others about how wonderful DAZ Studio is" or something along those lines... probably made a lot of people who lived in the middle of nowhere or had no friends feel really guilty.
I was in the latter group and felt very guilty
I think I put a link under my renders. I also had no friends interested in art or rendering.
