My Manga Style Shader seems not work.
in The Commons
Hi all, I just got the Mango Style Shader and I just couldn't get the result shown in the document. I followed the instructions, but when I rendered the figure was not like manga, at all. I wonder where was wrong in my process, I don't knwo I guess it should be render settings but the results came the same even if I tried all of the renderers. Can someone helf me out? Thanks.
the render result is as below:

You ar eusing 3Delight, not Iray (check Render Settings, in the Edit ot Advanced tabs)?
Which of the manga style shaders are you using? This set? https://www.daz3d.com/manga-style-shaders
It comes with a pretty good manual: http://docs.daz3d.com/lib/exe/fetch.php/public/read_me/index/15279/mangastyle_documentation.pdf
However, if you're using defaul characters (like G8), their skin settings are for Iray, but the shader is 3Delight. You have to first apply the Default 3DL shader to the character, or use 3DL shaders if they are included. Only thend will the manga shader apply properly.
This is my experience as well. I've tried 3Delight and Iray and the shaders just don't seem to take effect. I've checked the step by step doc and the instruction manual and absolutely nothing seems to get me any shading at all, just an all white figure like the original post.
Maybe it's too old?
I'd be curious to know if it can be got to work; I'd move it from my wishlist to my cart then.
Someone posted that they are having issues.
Wanted to be sure something hadn't changed.
Consider me a novice to 3Delight as I could never get anything to look decent; well almost semi decent was way beyond me. Iray was a breath of fresh air - and a resource hog, but that's a different rant.
You could try adding the 3DL shader included in Daz Studio first and then the Manga Style Shader and see if that does the trick. @TheNathanParable might have some tips, but you can also put in a support ticket if you still can't get it to work.
