That's pretty much what I take frenetic to mean.
Albatross, anyone? ALBATROSS?
Well, I drove all the way to Brooklyn in the wee hours of the morning with a stinking herring and stood there on the damned drafty cold pedestrian walkway of the Brooklyn bridge for hours waiting... then well after noon I gave up and went home... So that's how y'all do me... leave me hanging there with a fish in my hand... that's cold.
I'll never challenge any of you to a herring duel again, my faith in humanity and ichthyowarfare has been dealt a serious blow.
I lament that I shall never slap another human being with deceased fish henceforth, but what is done is done.
At least I still have penguin wrestling.
Do you get wafers with it?
Nope, just albatross... with albatross flavour...
Ummm ... this is starting to remind me of 'eat your thesis' night at the biology building in university.
What is really amazing is that my downloads have managed to keep up with my purchases [the internet speeds are not great here].
So, hows the duel going? :)
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha. You are winning Jack. I think I may end up purchasing everything from your store that is not Poser only. Some day, you might get to see the animations I envision making with this stuff.
Oh, the other vendors and Daz are doing pretty good also. But I am not sure how long I can keep this up.
Also, I am thinking of entering the PCA render contest ... it would be fun to try out the new shinies.
We're like day 4.. you gotta dig deep as we've got a long way to go yet :)
I guess duel is a little unfair.. it's more a war of attrition.
More like complete genocide!
But in the nicest possible way..!
the only reason I have managed to withold from buying anything, except from one of the pc+ for a day items on day 1, is because my paycheck haven't arrived yet lol
You may be right ... but I just made my first scorecard for the event: DAZ: 243 PIMAN: 281
It is adding up faster than I expected, but I seem to be winning so far ... ... ...
Ouch ... Daz found one of my weak spots and has pulled ahead. DAZ: 382 Pi-Man: 300. I am very glad a gift card sale has arrived.
seen more complicated images in adult games
Well ... Daz is winning. I am out of funds (at least until the next deposit). I will not complain, though, because I have gotten a lot of useful items and expanded parts of my collection that were lacking.
Current Score:
DAZ: 617 PI-MAN: 475
Valiant effort there.. sooo.. double or quits? ;)
Daz3d, for the win!
I just bought a gift card for myself. Probably spend it all by Halloween.
Well ... it seems the sale is about over [ although they have been known to extend things ... ]. So a final [near final] score settles out as:
Pi-Man: 735 and DazStudio: 911 and that is out of a possible 13,972.
Technically, on paper, Daz won the duel. But quite honestly, with scores like these, I feel like it was a win-win situation. Yes, Daz got some money out of me [more than I had saved for the event], but I also got a LOT of items to use / play with.
Thanks for a great duel Jack ... I know it is a lot of work for you and I hope you know it is greatly appreciated!
Oh, and just for fun, here is an image testing out some period items.
I am actually still mulling over grabbing a years membership and all those collective 3D houses
its still a lot of money for me though when I need it for other things
Australian dollar is pretty lousy
You don't say. This sale has cost me AU$2000+ approx - and that's my year's worth of budgeted fun money.
I got hoovered in
170AUD today including membership but I must be a good girl the rest of the year
Okay ... the gloves are off ... I am all in for a challenge. Oh ... not with Daz this time. I have held off making any images for the PC render contest because I knew I would only be doing it to try and get some money. But I am challenging myself to see what I can do in open competition and see if I can at least get an honorable mention ... I want the challenge to help me push the limits of my skills even further than they have been. Round 2 has begun.
Okay...Daz you win....I admit that I was beaten this afternoon when I finally looked at my cart for the final weekend sale items I wanted. As I went through the list I added things I really wanted to get. Once I was sure I had taken everything I wanted, I looked at the cart and said F........ It was sitting at $960 US (I am in Canada). Since I think I already spent more than my mortgage all month I'm like... not a chance. The plan was to put everything I want in and pare it down....Ha. I don't have that much time. Remove everything from the cart and start over. Pick up a couple of the debut/still new PC+ items I really want. One platinum club pack - I really want the Rochelle dress and some catchup sale items. Okay...I'm at a more reasonable $60 US. Still, more than I wanted but hey at least I can eat for the next three months
Ooohh!! What have I gotten myself into?!?! I had so many ideas to make and submit, but I only have time for one.
I challenged myself and what am I learning?
- mocap animation rather than aniblock
- my second use of Iray Motion Blur
- better use of different types of maps
- more geoshells than any previous image
- possibly more nulls than any previous
- stacking products for grunge and wounds moved across generations
- even photoshop layering came into play
- all with more D-force clothing and hair then before (wow that took a while to simulate)
Anyway, my submission is more of a technical achievemant than an artistic masterpiece ... but I am personally satisfied with the result.
