Genesis 3 - June 2015
Genesis 8 - June 2017
So Genesis 9 was supposed to be on June 2019. Now it's going to be October in a few days. So, don't hold your breath. Maybe 2020 or even 2021. I'm one of those who would like to see more and more realism and I'm more than happy to have fantastic collections of 3 to 8 and thrilled to have 9 soon. I wish one day we will finally can create something like Frozen by our machines at home.

It was never "supposed to" come out in June; that's just an assumption people made based on the previous releases. Right now, all we know for sure about G9 is that it isn't coming out this year.
Late? It's still 2019. We were told that it's definitely not coming in 2019, but we'll see other new features in DS, which we are indeed seeing.
Do we even need it?
I don't think we have a Genesis 9 before 2021.
For one I do not want G9 .. or G whatever for what it's worth. It is nonsense to reiterate the same assets again and again just to fit a new generation that has nothing new for real. For example what we see in G8 could have been done with a simple G3 update. Nothing stops from adding new templates for the transfer utility or a better facial powerpose to G3 itself.
Then if G9 will have real new features that would be another story.
THIS. :)
Honestly, whenever a new generation comes out, I feel naked. No converters yet, no addons that I'm used to with all the past generations, etc. G8, in my opinion, is now coming to the point when we finally have most of the stuff we had for previous generations, maybe a tad bit more. Let's use this time, and not ruin everything by starting to adopt a new generation that we have nothing for.
The others just came too soon
I like the fact that they have more time to spend on new Pro bundle characters and such for Genesis 8. Plus, we've had a bit more diversity thanks to the larger pool of Pro characters. Won't hurt my feelings at all if Genesis 9 doesn't show up until late 2020, if it means even more unusual characters, or at least different from the 'usual' caucasian types that get recycled for each generation.
Plus, it isn't like we haven't had innovation in other areas. The new hair thing being one of them. We didn't need a new generation for that, just a new and improved Daz studio. Oh, and I guess there's the faces from photos thing, similar to FaceGen that's in the new version.
I'm sure a few people here can make some suggestions r.e. missed bases as far as Genesis 8 characters go, so hopefully we see more diversity and more unique characters.
But that's not the question Daz will be asking themselves. It's whether we will buy it.
