Is GenX worth it?

So, the various GenX products are currently on sale. I'm considering getting them to transfer morphs from Generation 4, Genesis, and Genesis 2 to G3 and then to G8. Does anybody have those products, and are they any good?

It works, yeah. Not the most intuitive software in the world but it works ;).

They are very good in my opinion. I have never had a problem getting them to work, but I know that is not everyone's experience.
There are so many unique shapes for V4 and M4 characters, this is a very good way of using them on the latest figures, and much cheaper than buying them again (if they are even available for the newer figures, most are not).
Has anyone tried moving characters with V4 and M4 Creature morphs up to Genesis (or Gen 3) with the GenX packages? How well does it swap over?
I don't recall trying those morphs, as I have Genesis creature creator morphs. I did move this one to G2M https://www.daz3d.com/tauran-for-m4, and it worked pretty well as far as I remember.
So, to transfer an M4 character to Genesis 1, which one of those products do I need?
Only this: https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-generation-x2
However you need some of the additional plug-ins if you want to move the char to Genesis 2 or 3. They are never going to be cheaper than $2.5, and it is possible they may not be available at all in the future.
Tks mate! Yeah, might as well get them all, just incase I suddenly start using some other gen=)
Really well, actually. I've actually tranfered even more complex morphs like Grotton's Insectoid for M4 transfferred to Genesis 2. I'd attach an image bu there's somthing funky going on with the forum again.
...if you primarily use G8, as I understand, Gen-X will not see a new revision. This is part of why I stopped at G3.
So I got them all...and, as I stopped at G1, will be interesting to transfer both V4/M4, G2M, G2F, G3M and G3F to G1
I probably own hundreds of Gen4 morphs I've never used, and a couple of G2/G3 freebies
Okay, so I've decided to give it a try, and picked up the transfer tools from Genesis up to Gen 3.
Is there a good tutorial specifically for how to load a customized V4 or M4 character with all of their morphs into the GenX transfer program? (And how to find that morph
(I'm hoping to bring an M4 character with quite a few Creature Creator morphs up to Gen 3. If it saves them as a single morph character, that works great... but I can't seem to figure out how to load his specific morphs into the program. May have to look at it more tomorrow.)
The user's guide is available on the product readme. It will give you a good idea what it can do, but I find it a little short on some of the details. There are a number of threads that flesh it out somewhat, but I haven't had the time to follow them myself.
I had pretty good results transfering a couple of Sparky's M4 Antropomorphic morphs over to G1 and G2M. The Plugin does work, ut the only support you'll get is from the other end users in the forum. There are a lot of them, so it's far from hopeless. But the developer dies a year or so ago, so the product is not precicely being supported.
So they don't show up in DIM, why is that? Do you have to install manually?
Never mind, found the serial numbers...
But they don't show in DS/about installed plug ins...how do I get those suckers to work?
I do almost exclusively use G8, but I know how to transfer from G3 to G8 (and there's also a commercial product from Riversoft available, plus another one by Zevo is coming up.)
I did get the 3 relevant items (base, G2, G3). Can still return them if I'm not satisfied.
...but is that morphs or just poses/clothing/hair fits?
^ Yes, morphs!
...so, after a bit of screaming and inventing a whole bunch of new more effective curse words, I managed to transfer a body morph and a head morph from M4 to G1, still so many questionmarks, but slowly getting there;) Definitely worth 7.50 for the base plugin and the G2- and G3 add on
The morphs look pretty darn close to the originals IMO.
That is definitely a question only you can answer; it does what it says, namely: transfering to G3, if you have all the add-ons; it is possible to transfer to G8 using other products or a manual process.
Do you have a need to transfer shapes?
If yes, use that to decide if it is worth it.
Another thread on the similar topic:

GenX stopped working for me after I had to reinstall DS on a new external HD. Which is frustrating, because I wanted to transfer a bunch of characters to G3 again. Bahhh.
Try re-installing the plugin - 'cause it's a plugin, most of it is in the Program Files part of the drive, not all in the Content Library.
I run DS with all my Content Libraries on an external drive, and no problems with GenX2
So, when things go wrong and you want to delete the morph, any other way of doing it than navigating to the data folder and removing it manually?
On the GenX pane, there a tab called 'Morphs' I think you can remove unwanted morphs from there it also creates a backup you can restore the morph from unless you remove that too (Dimension3d knew his stuff).
Ok tks, I'll give it a try;)
Definitely get it, you can transfer Gns1>Gns2>Gns>3 and then Gns3>Gns8 using Zev0's X-Transfer when it comes out, and like with GenX1/2, X-Transfer can transfer JCMs as well as FBMs!
Need a bit of advice here...I've successfully managed to transfer a number of M4 and V4 characters to Genesis, but a great number of body inject morphs are ignored by GenX. I've tried dropping the inject morphs on the GenX pane, tried using the load button and browsing to the pose folder and selecting the body morph, tried injecting the morphs into V4 base character and using the select from character in scene, and the result is always the same. (See screen shot) The head inject morph works, but the body morph is ignored. Any idea what I am doing wrong?
I am pretty sure I transferred Agnes for V4 once.
What I do is load v4 and using the power loader inject all the morphs into her. I then export this as a CR2, and use this CR2 file as the source figure for GenX
I then use Apply Pose button to add the head and/or body morph. Then use select all values with non-zero values, and finally click Transfer.
