I found my MP3 player but now I remember that I do not have any headphones for it.  My only headphones I have is basically for iOS.  Unless I can find my sleep mask headphones.

Weather Complaint:  First of the really hot muggy days here.  Bleh..... frown Had to make a quick trip out this morning but had to swat cloud of guppies out of my way while walking home.  Hoping for relief soon, I can hear thunder approaching.  A/C has been running since 9:00 this morning.  Only one A/C.  It's upstairs in the bedroom.  Open stairway lets the cool air settle down into the office/living room.  Fans upstairs and down try to keep the cool air circulating.  Kitchen and bathroom are sweatboxes.  Bleh...frown

I am wasting time watching YouTube videos.  I saw an ad for a software made by Daz3D but I did not see what the software name was.

Now I am seeing a video that looks like it used a render from that software.

I think doing an iray render slows down my computer.  Trying to watch YouTube but it brings up renders when I was not searching for renders.

When I first came to the (U.S.) East Coast I convinced coworkers that there had been "open air drownings" in the parking lot due to the humidity and that people were going to have to start wearing land-based SCUBA gear to get from their car to their work desk. (I know, I know... "Self-Contained-Underwater-Breathing-Aparatus" doesn't really work for "land-based" but "SCLBBA" isn't catchy AT ALL!)

I remember my Dad telling me that, when he was posted to India during WW2, there were times when they stopped for a quick dip in a pond or lake and if it rained it was impossible to work out if you were under water or not.

I'm basically becoming a nudist. I just have to be careful not to give the pizza delivery guy a thrill. Then again, maybe I could get a free pizza if I flash my ta-tas and kookookachoo...

There are actually a range of temperature/pressure combinations in which that is literally true.cool  And one temperature/pressure combination where you can't tell if you are in air, water, or ice. surprise  But a few moments in that situation and you'd be dead.  So the point is moot. devil

I was debating on getting Blender 2.80 because it was so expensive.  Or was it that there was no installer?

I was watching a YouTube video about Blender and then a housemate came in to use the bathroom connected to my room.  She started rambling about toilet paper.  She was talking so loudly about toilet paper I could not hear the YouTube video on Blender.

My housemate just came home very noisy and chatty for a Friday too. Must be a thing...

I was so excited I thought maybe she brought me a present... When I asked she just stared at me like I was growing a head out of my hip... or like I had forgotten to put clothes on again.

IBad day, good computer tech. I tried to clone an SSD, and my computer wouldn't boot up afterwards. Not even the boot menu. Power on, fans spin, perpetual black screen. Took it to the shop, tech told me that my expensive motherboard had fried. He called up Amazon, we chose a better (still expensive) one and ordered it for me, with zero markup. Then asked if I wanted him to install it! Will (should) have computer back Tuesday. More PCIe slots, more SATA connections, now I can have more internal storage!
Would have installed new board myself, but he'll reinstall Win7 Pro for me, just in case it needs fine tuning.
Told me this was the third motherboard he'd seen fried right after use of Acronis to clone a drive. I'd used it before to clone an SSD for my laptop. Oh, well.

If it weren't for the thunderstorms, I would have taken a week away from Studio to tour on my motorcycle. Poor timing. But Autumn is coming!

Wait...no, just no.  Something ELSE happened.  I've been using Acronis Disk Director for over a decade and that has NEVER happened.  And I'm constantly cloning, enlarging, shrinking, or otherwise moving/copying partitions all over the place.  That one time I even put one on YOUR drive and there wasn't any problem.  Okay, maybe not that last part, but really!  Something ELSE happened.  DD doesn't just "break" motherboards.  I call shenanigans.  Not on you, but on the renderer of the explanation.

First Complaint for Friday: Hair is the cause of many of my rendering failures. Hair styles do not be conducive to poses other than upright.

    Note to Self: Rotate Sets!

Strike that... it won't work... I growl at thee hair... grrr grrr grr

Make all your figures shave their heads every morning.  It feels great, makes for a cleaner scalp (really, no dandruff ever again), and reduces the need for all those chemicals clogging up the pores.  I can shave with anything.  Cream is my preference, but I've done it in a pinch with a bar of soap, a badger-mole brush, coffee mug, and a dual-edge blade.  Oh, and it makes for a very aerodynamic look too!

The only drawback is sunburns.  Oooooooh, that's not good, not good, not good!  crying

Are you checking the morphs? Also, dForms are your friend - especially combined with weight maps

Yes, checking the morphs, checking them twice... gonna find... wait... wrong job...

Waitaminute...do you work with Santa?  You know, jolly guy, jiggly belly, last seen with eight tiny reindeer and a big bag of toys?

I'm still learning my way around. I'll add dForms and weight maps to my to do list. (Yesterday I learned how to make a harrowing hall of mirrors.) [All the images so far have been nudes so I can't share my madness...]

My big thing right now is to put every outfit on my models and decide I don't have a thing to wear... I mean my models don't have a thing to wear... I haven't found the Genesis 3 to RL tutorial yet.

Sure, sure, we all know what you really meant...wink

That reminds me, I really DON'T have anything to wear.  I have laundry to get after.  surprise

I finally found my tv remote.  I found the cord for my mp3 player but now I forgot where my mp3 player is.

I once found my TV remote in the refrigerator.  No WONDER I couldn't watch anything!

My ac has been down for several days.  New one should be coming online tonight.  It's about 92 in the house today.  My house isn't a sweatbox.  I am!

So I just got a scam call.  The Caller-ID said "Home Depot", but the fake robot voice said it was Chase Bank.  Apparently, I'm elegible for sainthood!  I hung up.  Sainthood sounds booring.  And it probably would require that I give up the occasional cussword.

Don't think I haven't thought about it. But they would expect me to shave my head too and while I need a hair appointment, I'm not shaving my head.

I generally avoid men who try to get me to sit on their laps. I've fallen for that before. Never again.

Oddly enough all my renders today have been nudes. Well mostly the same shot over and over because I have a plague of white pixels. :(

The only render where my models were clothed involved... an interaction... between... well... I can't really go into the details of it but my roommate highfived me when I showed her.

Right now I am watching a review of Genesis 8 Female. It is a 2 year old video on YouTube.  It mentions PoswerPose.  I wonder if DS 4.11 has it.  I went to check it out after I start up DS again.  Apparently just thinking about DS does not open it up on my notebook.  I think that is a good thing.

I've found that just thinking about a lot of things doesn't actually work. I really can't explain why. I mean if I think something it really ought to be done already.

Well, except for things that would be illegal... or immoral... or impratical... or I can't afford...

I thought Gobbles was installed correctly because I was thinking of Gobbles. I can find his OBJ file but Smart Content cannot find him.

edit DIM wants to reinstall itself but I am pretty sure DIM can find Gobbles since I have Gobbles in my product library.

I'm about to punch Daz 3D studio in the face... I've tried to get these white spots to go away but they refuse.

    Snarl!

[UPDATE: Apparently it was all the reflective surfaces that made my renders cross with me. This makes me sad.]

I am having issues with my taskbar when using an external monitor.  I do not know why.

    What version of Windows?

What is the native resolution of the external monitor, and what do you have it set to in your Windows display settings?

Have you resized fonts in Windows settings?  Sometimes I use 125%, but this can alter sizing on your displays, and not always for the better, even if you CAN read the screen better.

Non-complaint:  Music to DAZ to.  Having already missed half the season at Chautauqua I'm desperately scanning the remaining schedule.  I'd already had my eye on Rachmaninoff's "Isle of the Dead" but that's just a single movement relatively short piece not worth the ticket & parking for by itself.  But there's yet another Rachmaninoff piece offered a few days earlier.  His 2nd symphony.  I LOVE the opening bars of that piece.  And throughout the 1st movement it has very dark imagery.  Think creepy trees at night, mouldering castles on rocky mountains, demons chasing fleeing horsedrawn carriages.  But sprinkled here and there are glimmers of hope or love.  Especially in the last 5 minutes of the end of the 1st movement.

    Sergei Rachmaninoff: Second Symphony https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQtoOWqZ_J4ser

Disclaimer: The descriptions below are mine.  Your mileage may vary.

1st movement: 0:00  Cloudy darkness descends. dark mood, creepy, fear & danger with glimmers of hope.

2nd movement: 18:57  Light, joy and beauty to combat the darkness.  Then at 22:20 a new element is introduced, perhaps powerful sprites to join the battle on the side of light?  The war ramps up.  Then at 28:09 the sun completely sets and things start to feel foreboding again as the 2nd movement ends.  What will tommorow bring?

3rd movement: 29:20  The quietude of night.  A respite against the uncertainty of tommorow.   The night's clouds begin thinning at 35:00.  Then at 36:10 the full moon breaks through.  The last 3 minutes see the clouds dissipating and the stars decorating the sky.

4th movement: 43:33  Dawn of the big day.  At first all seems quiet then at 50:16 the enemy forces appear and the clouds gather again.  At 53:00 the forces march toward each other.  Battle seems imminent but the power of light disintegrates the darkness as the piece ends.  The final chords beginning at 56:40 signal final triumph of the powers of good.  And again the crowd immediately roars with approval at another Rachmaninoff piece that has carried them through an emotional adventure.heart
