    complainnt  i is scrwed.

    cant d/l win7pro install media cuz my activation code is HP oem

    the hp site no longer has the win7pro media

    my dayjob throwing out a bunch of old desktops after the win10 roll out, but they took the hard drives.
    i can install a new hd, the activation sticker is on the case, but i no has the media 

    is a long time since the fdisk days.  i dont even know how to make a bootable dvd or usb

     

    and my newest pc, hp, didn't come with recovery media for the win10 os.  the hp recovery manager gives 1 shot at making recovery. after that is

    I've got my shopping cart all loaded up and am ready to press the button - why am I hesitating?  Oh, wow - it is the first purchase in a very, very long time where I don't have a purple banner discount of some sort. I got so spoiled, I barely know how to behave now without an 'extra' discount.  <LOL>

    I am watching the original Mary Poppins so I can understand the sequel better.  She has a bag bigger on the inside.  Gilbert went back to trying to get attention.

    I accidentally learned something new about Daz.... Well, learn is possibly too strong a word. I randomly played with stuff under Render Settings and got messy results.

    Minor complaint.  I do wish people would remember Daz or Daz 3d  is the name of the Company

    Daz Studio or DS is the name of their flagship program.    THey do also own Bryce Carrara and Hexagon,  and they sell some 3rd party programs as well.

    I'm too lazy to add Studio to my Daz. It also disrupts the flow of my Dazzing to say Dazzing...Studio. It doesn't have the same quirky charm. Bryce and Carrara sound like a lovely couple though. I imagine Bryce has a taste for expensive suits and Carrara has a taste for expensive jewelry. But even so, they are probably still down to Earth folks who have dinner parties where they invite people they don't really know.

    It could be the low blood sugar talking.

    Non-complaint"  Wheee, what a beautiful day here in western & central NY State today.  Warm but not hot, not muggy, partly cloudy.  Twas brillig and the slithy toves did gyre and gymbol in the wabe.  Made a spot decision at 6:00 AM to drive 220 miles to the Renaissance Faire at the eastern end of Lake Ontario (Sterling, NY) Blew my budget all to heck but it was a nice mini-adventure.smiley  Four hours driving, two hours dragging my body up and down dusty hills admiring armor, leather, feathers, tights, horses, comedians, jugglers and jousting.  Eating a way overpriced fish & chips and a $3 bottle of waterfrown, and then four more hours driving home.  But I lost an hour futzing around because I stopped to fill up on gasoline and couldn't get the gas cap off.frown  It being Sunday, most real gas stations with mechanics were closed.  I finally found a truckstop and had to sweet talk a burly truck mechanic to take pity on me and see if he could break it loose.  He did.  After much effort and bigger and bigger tools, he broke it right in half! surprise  Fortunately the auto supply shop nearby was open so I got it replaced.  Strange happening.  Never had a gas cap seize up and break before.  I didn't have enough gas to make it home and was afraid I'd have to have my car towed a hundred miles just because I couldn't get the stupid gas cap off.  Oy! indecision

    Two hours of walking up and down hills at the Faire, just about killed me.  Heart going pitty pat, knees screaming, feet screaming,   After watching the jousting I needed shade so I stopped and rested by a Tum-Tum tree hoping for a Jabberwock to come whiffling by.  And as in uffish thought I stood, two handsome costumed vendors that I was watching hawk their wares took pity on me and chased down my hat for me when it blew away, and took my empty water bottle to save me the 40 foot walk to the trash can.  I must have looked pretty pitiful.sad

    I thought it was officially “Daz 3D, Globodeath Megasystems Holdings Ltd, CGI & Frozen Seafood division, North America, GmbH, AG & QxzB.”

    I stopped using the term “Studio” after that guy was crushed by the falling bulldozer because of it it back in 2010... I still feel a little bad about it... not so much that I actually feel bad, as I’m fairly heartless, but technically if if I had a heart and I could feel bad about it, I would probably, sort of, mostly would have some sort of slightly badish feeling about it... it’s pretty highly unlikely... but it’s not impossible.

    I recently heard that DAZ no longer stands for Digital Art Zone or Dehydrated Anchovies of Zaire, Distinguished Ardvark Zombies... or whatever it was an acronym for and now is just a word or a name or something... As a name it’s kinda flashy... sounds very much like some 80s b-movie bad guy’s, former KGB hitman’s first name... Daz... Daz Splotznokownov... That’s pretty terrifying when I say it out loud.

    As a word it’s kinda “Megh”... maybe as a low-end profanity... like “Aye... Daz you buddy... and your dog too...”

    Same here, I recently read a magazine article with an interview with a vendor (not one from here) where throughout the interview the software was refered to as Daz, very annoying.

    Soooo, who here has done the whole "connect a card to your PayPal account" thing? Did anything catastrophic happen? It's so nice and simple to use PP, but now I need to "confirm" and attach a card, to prove that I'm me.

    Also... Monday morning complaint: Trying to get my models in appropriate "inappropriate" poses is so much harder than doing it myself. I'm like "hey beautiful, just do this [hand gesture]" and they flail about into some pretzel shape. C'mon ladies! Be professionals!

    I dropped a card in PP once... but it was a birthday card, so after it dried a little I gave it to the person anyway... there were probably no issues to speak of either... well, at least none that I was going to speak of.

    So this morning I have been Dazzing - Reading the Forums, checking up in the Galleries, and seeing what's new in the Store.

    After that I'll probably start up Daz Studio and set up a render.

    I have my major credit card linked to my PayPal account.  No problems.  Makes life easy sometimes.  However, since I never sell things which would require PP to deposit to my bank account I do not have my PayPal account linked directly to my bank account.  I don't feel safe putting a big drain pipe in my swimming pool.  I feel better about letting some guy come and ask me for buckets of water now and then.  And if he sneaks in and grabs more than his share I can probably catch him in time.

    What would make my PayPal even better is if my account was tied to someone else's credit card.

    I mean, how much more convenient would it be if someone else would pay for my purchases? devil

    Wonderful idea, and I'm sure it's been used before.  But it usually has a short functional lifetime before your freedom is severely restricted to a small room with bars.indecision (PS: not the type with bartenders.)

    I was going to say... it sounds like of like a typical Saturday night at home. But...

    I need better control over my hair... in real life and for my render models. Neither is cooperating at the moment.
