Complaint:  Mid-afternoon snack, sardines on crackers.  I love sardines that come packed in mustard sauce.  However, I am fussy.  I can't stand to eat the backbone and spinal chord so I have to disect the body and pull them out.  However, today in the process of disection of one of them I discovered an inch long rolled up piece of aluminum foil making its way through the fish's gut.  Ewwwww....  The state of our ocean. frown

Well, considering the sardines were probably composed primarily of micro plastics, that’s not surprising...

Now I’m in the mood for canned sardines too... the ones packed/soaking in that prewar industrial tomato sauce...

I do the dissecting thing too... I hate the crunchy bones... (it’s ok for the “crunchy frog” chocolates though)... I can never enjoy an entire tin of sardines in tomato sauce though... they taste great, but halfway through I find them kinda gross... I eat the whole thing but I’m like “blegh, why’d I do that”...

I did enjoy a whole tin once though... I had some IKEA Knäckebröd flerkorn... those hard crackers that look like thick cardboard barroom coasters... they taste similar too... with some terrible warm Greek beer and the knäckebröds, the tomato sauced sardines didn’t taste so bad...

The whole thing was horrible, but it sorta balanced out... I guess I like snacking like it’s 1887 again sometimes...

Every time I go to Dollar Tree, I see all these canned seafoods that no one in their right mind would buy from a dollar store and I’m tempted to buy some... I used to be fond of eating things that weren’t really good for me, or probably even safe for human consumption...  They had smoked oysters and octopus the last time I went.

Dollar store octopus... and the oysters too... I feel like I should at least try the oysters...

I don’t know if it was here or at Hivewire’s forums that I posted my “Oyster King” story... it was one of my wonky stories steeped in truth and stupidity... but apparently during the 1890s - 1920s my area was one of the oyster hotspots of the east coast.

When I first bought my house I dug up several enameled signs belonging to the SealShipt Oyster Systems company in the yard... I looked into the history and it was pretty interesting... apparently some of the baymen around here became millionaires wheeling and dealing, cheating and stealing oyster beds... oysters were like gold, and as soon as people started canning them it became a craze...  fresh oysters were for royalty and railroad barons, but with canned oysters, even though they were expensive, they were an affordable luxury... so there was an oyster boom, followed by an oyster bubble and an oyster crash...

So yeah... maybe to honor Jacob Ockers, the “Oyster King” of the Great South Bay, I'll pick up some nasty canned smoked oysters.

One of the enameled signs... probably from the early 1920s

DForce!  I want to understand DForce! I have a pose that is for two different characters but do I really need to hide the other figure so the clothing on the first figure will simulate right?

DForce is what keeps DPlane in DAir. indecision

A note on dforce, there is an option "visible in simulation" that you can turn off. This prevents the simulation from seeing the object, without you needing to remember to set it to visible again later. Just remember that if you want dforce cloth to interact with an object, you will want it to be visible.

Is one of my neighbors doing yard work outside?  I hear an electric motor or something?  There is a big storm coming.  The wind is blowing faster.

Non-complaint:  I'm going to save $50+ tonight by not attending the season's opening symphony concert at Chautauqua tonight.  Money's really tight this monthsad (it's my own fault blush )

Tonight's performance is Rachmaninoff's "Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini"  , Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra with Alexander Gavrylyuk as pianist.

Here's a YouTube of Steven Hough performing it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c33q87s03h4  It's not strictly a concerto, but rather a set of 24 variations on a theme.  Some easier to recognize than others.  And especially the 18th variation (begins at 20:15 - ends at 23:00) which is musically inverted and sounds quite differently from the others but very melodic and sounds like a segment of his 2nd piano concerto.  It's almost universally the variation that most people love about the  Rhapsody.

Complaint:  I'm not going to the symphony tonight. crying

Here's the program notes for tonight's performance. https://chq.org/calendar/eventdetail/20135/chautauqua-symphony-orchestra-opening-night-with-alexander-gavrylyuk

That sounds ominous... sorta like how a lot of bad science fiction movies start.

If you are abducted by aliens, say hi to Slignorg for me... he’s a riot... if he’s in a good mood... but it’s almost Friday, so he probably is.

Was it the oysters?... I don’t think canned smoked oysters and latte are a good combo... well, pretty much nothing is.

No the Henrys were spaced out, Henry the first was the 11 and 12 century Henry VIII was the 16C.

I have a feeling that he was referred to as Hal especially as a Prince.

They probably were but didn't have much choice; his third wife died in childbirth or shortly after; his fourth he divorced and she lived long after him quite comfortably, Catherine Howard and Catherine Parr were both slightly reluctant brides 5 and 6, he beheaded the Catherine Howard but Caterine Parr outllived him.

He only beheaded 2 of his wives.

And yes Cromwell came after Henry.

I'm not ashamed to admit that I frequent the dollar type stores.  I get my Kleenex and paper towels from there as well as other cleaning materials, soap, shampoo and other bathroom stuff.  I also snap up cheap T-shirts and short pants and sweatpants for wearing around the house, when they're on sale and still have my size left at the end of the season.  However, no clothes that I buy there ever gets worn in public.  I do have standards!  I do buy food there but only things like cookies and coffee.

I go through a LOT of Kleenex.  I have them at all places where I park myself in the house.  Sneezing, dripping almost all the time.  I think I have a sick house (decades of dust in the air ducts).  No, I don't believe it's black mold, just common house dust.  It's worse in the winter, but since the furnace comes on sometimes at night even during the summer it never goes away.  And "yes", it's "mold", not "mould".  Well, at least here on the left side of the pond.cheeky

Regarding my clothing standards.  When I was young and athletic I didn't care what I wore in public, especially in Florida.  I was a "clothes-horse", anything looked good on me.  But now that I'm old and frumpy of body, I try to disguise it with non-frumpy clothes in public.  Always a shirt with a collar.  Always well fitting, quality material from reputable stores.  Yeah, it costs more but it's a good frump mask.yes

That would be the way the company has permissions set, not an inherent limitations of Windows 10 I think.

I can't stand fish bones, either, so I avoid salmon and other bony fish. I don't mind sardines, but prefer kippered herring (Kipper Snacks). For us osteophobes, they're good as they're already dissected. Apparently, also great for those with celiac disease and gluten issues (so says the site where I acquired the picture).

Never trust windows. It lies and whines about every non-MS product. I have Norton (which can be a pain in the butt) and it logged Carrara as safe.

As was stated by someone else, it was probably a security policy put on by the company she works for.  Shouldn't be playing with Carrara while on the company's dime, anyway.  Just my opinion.

You didn't get the Babies vaccine?

I have mixed feelings about fish. Nothing like waking up to fishy breath in my face from the cat sleeping on my pillow.

If it is with cats or dogs it is called spaying and neutering your pet.  If it is with guppies or similar, keep the guys and gals separated.  A girl guppy needs to be away from a male guppy for sometime so they will stop making babies.

For human babies, that is another topic that delves into territory we are not allowed to go here
