can we have a sticky thread - is that the term? of what products bought here are not allowed to be used in renders posted here such as pose sets and clothing extra as I'm finding a lot of stuff not allowed to use even though the promos make you think you can use them and are often worse couples, dancing, wrestling, sports and other poses and outfits like the Grecian Goddess Outfit, swimsuits-men being bare chested, lingerie, dresses, shorts, animals, minotaurs. If we had a list then we can decide whether or not it is worth while investing in some products if we mainly only post renders here

Well I think the most used sought after and bought items that sells at least some of the pro bundles the discretely named anatomical elements would top that list
and it’s very open to interpretation what’s allowed I never really know myself
Is https://www.daz3d.com/terms-of-service of any help to you? And I believe there is a thread somewhere on acceptable ways of handling nudity (which I haven't actually looked at). Apart from those, I believe it is up to the Moderators' discretion if an image gets deleted or reviewed (No doubt I'll get corrected if I'm wrong).
that is true and yes we all know nudity is not allowed but somtimes it does seem stretching it the violation when told it is suggestive or contains nudity when it doesn't. got a reply back their was sligh- slight view of edge of areola really could be a birthmark or mole or something hair is a problem guess too guess that is why so many are shaved when using shorts, bathers, underwear so guess for most gotta have what some call granny panties or boy shorts don't look right on some concepts same with guys get iinto trouble them being bare chested sometimes maybe use crop tops, bikinis, tied up shirts would look weir on a barbarian
had skirts flying up jumping up wearing fully covering underwear so a Marilyn Monrow famous scene and Woman In Red with Kelly Le'Brock type image my be in viloation so flying skirts may not be allowed. Also I've asked several times about minotaurs and animals no replys there. And then again their are all the poses you can buy such as intemet couples, dancing - ballet/ iceskating/roller blading and 1950's dances and modern ones can may get you into trouble. Wresting both Olympic style and TV wrestling. A lot of other sports could too. And so many others and I've seen several other artists here their images removed that featured these things
Are plenty of bare chested men on the forum
I think context applies there
they can be swinging an axe not bedding a maiden
It is up to the Forum Moderation Team, after a meeting and a discussion. Has to be a quorum. That is one way that the Daz Forum Team is different to most forums, we are a team, we do talk to each other and we do not make Unilateral decisions.
I saw AngelReaper’s image in the Bijou thread earlier and was actually admiring it and never picked up anything amiss so to be honest I don’t understand either but then I never did
I do know people have run into issues with that Grecian outfit before as while Kim Kardashian and other influencers can show lots more underboob it is apparently different to upper boob on DAZ even if less
They don't - unless the way in which they are used does (showing the niples/areolae on a female, or the crotch on male of female for example. It isn't that certain products violate the ToS, it's that certain products viewed from certain angles or used with certain morphs or texturs may violate the ToS.
Well I rechecked on AngelReaper’s DA and Bijiou on the cow is more covered than the promo for the top
https://www.daz3d.com/grecian-goddess-outfit
so fully understand the confusion
there certainly is more seen elsewhere on the DAZ gallery too but yes recall as I said this outfit being pinged before
The 3 ways I use so I can post some of my work that is not allowed to show in the Daz gallery or forums.
1) I post my artistic nudes or marginal renders at renderosity or DA galleries they have a adult content filters and i have not had any of my post removed for tasteful nudity or a epic scene with blood spurting from a wound made with a gunshot. or sword.
2) I post all my "adult content & renders" at Renderotica or my own website. there are just to many sooty do-gooders trouble makers other wise to post on DA or rendo. beside the fact people looking to buy adult renders & animation won't go to a family 3d site to find them.
3) When i absolutely need full control of my content & work without a nanny website looking over my shoulder telling me what or how to post & share my work or content downloads . I post it on my own website. Its a big help when I am commissioned for a nude & adult animations & without my own website it would not be possible for me to deliver my work to my clients other wise.
Like most of you people here. As a true artist that creates & sells all types of content, including adult & violent animations, I can tell you there is nothing like the freedom of having your own website which gives you complete control with choices and options for getting your media out to your target audience. Y'all got to remember Daz3d only sells 3d content and is not the business of selling commissioned art. which renderosity started doing last year. daz3d software & content sold here is used in public schools & other public arena's as tools ina lot of cases, so I can see a need for strict TOS rules for their market. even some of the 3d gaming expo in Las Vegas & comic con put limits whats allowed in the open convention halls.
The FMT...
Thats kinda cool... I never pictured a team...
Now that I’m picturing a team, I’ve got lots of questions...
Would you say this team is more like the Justice League or the Avengers?
I’m picturing Justice League because in the cheesy 70s cartoons they sat around a table discussing things... in the movies, the Avengers always seem to be having a lot of personality conflicts...
Does the FMT have a lair?... I’m picturing it being in a blimp or zeppelin... maybe that’s a little too 30s comic bookish... it’s probably hidden under an abandoned zeppelin factory... no need to confirm that though, I’m sure it’s a secret.
Also.. are spandex costumes involved?
Are there capes?
Does your team have a super villain/arch nemesis?... If you don’t, are you interested in the possibility of having one?... I’m just asking for a friend.
Asking for a fiend, surely?
A lot of moderation is open to interpretation. I am glad I'm not a moderator. I'd cut a lot more than the current team does to comply to the tos.
I am also sensitized to certain imagery involving characters and people who are teen looking, so they'd be all gone. There would be no religious exeption to images of torture. Torture is torture. All hail my heavy hand.
My guideline is keep images cheeky and not overt, and generally you won't have any problems with moderation. Anything that looks close too a nipple on women or a genital on a man will be removed. So, don't bother arguing that. Blood is also a no no, even though, I've seen images with blood so, hart to say.
I think the blood shaders might count. Too much sanguine imagery in a picture would not be allowed, I think.
Well, if it's the Avengers I'm going to be the John Steed character.
I'm not going to be the person who makes that comment... Or the other one.
With Chohole on the team I am guessing FMT stands for Full Maple Truncheon
The thread you speak of is stickied in the New Users forum, but here's the link: Acceptable Ways of Handling Nudity
Sometimes it's what's showing that shouldn't be, sometimes it's the context of the image, and sometimes it's about what the image is suggesting.
I have an image I've uploaded to DA that didn't pass the muster here on DAZ. The title is Newlyweds, and while he has on his scivies, and she her bra and panties, his hand is on her breast. I'm not positive, but I believe had his hand been on her shoulder instead, the image would have been okay for the galleries here. (I'm not complaining. I just don't feel comfortable referring to someone else's images in this context.)
The bottom line is every company makes business decisions based on what protects the business. Which usually means what will keep them from losing money. For example, while working for a small electronics firm, we had more than one order with Overnight shipping that turned out to be credit card fraud. As we ended up being paid nothing, those orders cost us the product and the shipping, as well as the original fee for the card use and a chargeback fee! So we raised the rates on Overnight shipping to something outrageous. And then we were very cautious about any order where the person wasn't the least bit concerned about paying the premium.
Regardless of who owns a website, users are always subject to that site's decision making. Even if you have your own website, you are subject to the decision making of the company hosting the site. In all situations, if your content puts that company's business in jeopardy, it will be pulled down. That's just good business sense.
There are other places to post your images besides the Daz Galleries. If images you like to create don't meet the TOS of the Daz Website, it's a pretty good idea to take advantage of the other sites available to you.
Let's face it. DAZ's definition of what's acceptable to post on the site is ridiculously prudish given that the company's primary product is naked human figures, and visuals that are perfectly acceptable on regular television or in newspapers often fail to make the cut here . Unfortunately, what those venues take into account and what DAZ seldom does, is context. The solution, though, is simple: don't post on DAZ unless all of your characters are wearing burqas, or are otherwise completely obscured from head to toe. That's the only way that you're going to create an image that isn't offensive to someone, somewhere. Or, if that seems too extreme, what about simply requiring that all unclothed figures must wear a G string and pasties, with that rule to apply to both male or female humans or anything else that's vaguely mammalian like orcs, goblins, cows, the EMoji guy, and Cthulhu?
+1
Just to make a distinction, since sometimes there are those who talk about the DAZ Store and the DAZ Forums as though they are the same thing, since they are all the DAZ Site. But the Store and the Forums are two distinct things. While DAZ3D may ultimately control what appears in either, they (DAZ3D and its employees) directly control what appears in the store, both content and promo images. While the rules may be more-or-less the same for both the store and the forums regarding acceptability, the DAZ3D staff have complete discretion when it comes to the store, since they ultimately make, interpret and enforce the rules there. The forums are different in that the responsibility for enforcing the TOS is left to the forum moderators (or CVs + Community Volunteers in DAZspeak), who are not employees of DAZ3D. While the CVs may have some discretion, they certainly do not have the discretion that DAZ3D staff might have, so it should not be altogether surprising that the rules tend to be enforced a little more rigidly in the forums. The CVs are just cops, DAZ3D is the government.
Which version... Ralph Fiennes or Patrick Macnee?
Just foolin’... There was only one version.
If anyone has to ask which, just google the 90s movie and that’ll be enough... whatever you do, don’t watch it!
I believe they added it to a list of types of torture as defined by the Geneva Convention.
It goes even further: the User Galleries have seperate moderation as well, so that makes three seperate parts of the website, each with its own set of rules. The Forums and Galleries fall within the same TOS, but within that TOS, they are constantly addressed seperately, which indicates that they aren't treated entirely similar. Nudity isn't allowed in either one, but it seems slightly more suggestive themes may be reviewed and allowed on a per-case basis on the galleries, where one work does not automatically create a precedent for other works. Yes, that sounds inconsistent, subjective and prone to bias, and maybe it is, but if you already have to go so far as to look up whether there's a precedent for something you want to post, you probably simply shouldn't.
Having to look it up basically means that you already know your work might be offensive to more than just a few users, which means you shouldn't. Your personal opinion does not matter. Even the opinion of what you think to be the majority does not matter. If you know it's commonly regarded as offensive, then don't post it. At least, not here at Daz. Don't try to be edgy because you think it's your right or whatever. No matter the amount of dollars you sank into models here, you're still just a guest using a free service provided by Daz. So ultimately, Daz (and moderators appointed by Daz) gets to make the rules and judge, however they see fit.
Are all decisions biased or unbiased or both? Do some people get more slack than others or is it carved in stone?
Actually, I happed to catch the Japanese dub of the movie on a flight to Japan and it was MUCH better than the original English langiage version, especially Sean Connery, who practically slept-walked through his part in English. His Japanese voice actor, on the other hand, was seriously into the show and gave a phenomenal performance, to the point of doing a great scottish accent in Japanese, which I didn't think was possible before that...
We try to judge uniformly, and don't usually look to see who posted when doing so.
In Britain we had the TV version before you got the americanised version on filum.
Thinking about it, seeing as he mentioned it, I think I shall start calling Richard "Steed"
I'm sufficiently old that whenever anyone mentions 'The Avengers' I get confused for a moment until I realise they are talking about the 'upstarts' from Marvel and not John Steed et al.
